I will admit, while the team has done a great job and we have really found a good flow, initially there was a gap between project management, development, and design. I felt like I had clearly communicated to the design team what I was looking for, but the dev team had not grasped it. Maybe it was a communication gap (and time zone gap). But we worked to sort it out. I learned to become my own "project manager" in a way, which was a good learning experience for me as an entreprenuer anyhow.

They helped us move from PHP to JavaScript. It wasn’t just moving stuff, they rebuilt the whole thing in a way that fits how we work now. They built a custom dashboard where staff and vendors can check tasks, upload files, and track progress. It also has ERP features that keep everything in sync. We use it to run daily tasks, assign work, and stay on top of projects.

JPLoft was provided with a Business Requirements Document and various descriptions of what the app should look like and how it should function.

The deliverable was a v1 prototype of a highly customized web application that would provide users with an interactive and educational experience. We agreed upon a timeline that aligned with a biweekly pay schedule. Assistance was provided in acquiring a web domain and AWS hosting.

We used Monday.com to list out all tasks that needed to be completed. These were systematically addressed, and their completion tracked.

Due to the custom nature of the project, many of the tasks involved significant trial and error. Deliverables were reported on time, but we often had to have them go back and rework the issue a few times. This was expected and not seen as a problem in any way. They were always very responsive, providing a reply with one business day.

I was most happy that they treated me with care and respect, even though I'm just one person and my project was relatively small (and probably a little difficult). I felt like my business mattered to them, and that was very gratifying.

I think greater pre-planning and deeper examination of the design challenges in the beginning could have been beneficial, and led to greater efficiency during the production phase.
