I’m the founder of SENSEcity Ltd., a city guide startup. We provide travel guide books that work with an AR application.

What challenge were you trying to address with The Intellify - Innovating Intelligence!?

We needed a company to develop our AR app.
 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The Intellify - Innovating Intelligence! is developing our AR application from scratch. It’s built for iOS and Android. We gave them wireframes for the user flow. Their design and tech teams are designing the UI/UX design and developing the entire product. 

They’re also integrating all the AR experiences, which I provide most of. I used the funding I received in Glasgow to create 3D content.  We’re going to purchase a license to create a Vuforia integration. The entire AR experience is built on Unity. 
We’re going to start providing AR app development solutions for customers and clients looking for that service. I’m transitioning from just their client to more of a partner.

What is the team composition? 

I have one point of contact when it comes to AR accommodations. I also have a point of contact for all the sales side, invoices, etc. Two developers work under the main developer, who is my point of contact.

How did you come to work with The Intellify - Innovating Intelligence!?

I found The Intellify - Innovating Intelligence!  through Upwork. They were extremely proactive. The salesperson got in touch with me on LinkedIn and had clearly read the brief I mentioned very thoroughly. They took the initiative to call us to get an even better understanding of the project. 

Even though their costs weren’t the cheapest, we could tell they were reliable. To date, they’ve developed more than 40 AR apps for companies around the globe, including ones in the UK. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $28,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2018 and have work ongoing. We’re planning to go live in April. The Intellify - Innovating Intelligence!  will also be on board for our next project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The Intellify - Innovating Intelligence! Is very receptive to change. They have a keen eye for how the final app will look and can understand the client’s perspective. The team has been receptive and patient whenever I’ve requested changes. 

I appreciate that they understand change is a part of project development. They’re never hesitant or lazy. Instead, they play around with the app until they reach the goals we want to achieve.

How did The Intellify - Innovating Intelligence! perform from a project management standpoint?

The Intellify - Innovating Intelligence! has a set process for project management in place. I met with them a couple of times when I visited India, but most of our conversations are over Skype or email. However, they aren’t overly reliant on emails, which is very valuable to me. Communication is very easy with them.

They introduced me to Basecamp which I now use with my team as well. This tool aligns everyone on the team. We can all see the deadlines and track progress visually together.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with their technological skills. Their key strength is a superior knowledge of AR app optimization. We have many 3D models integrated into our app. They always know the best ones to use. 

The Intellify - Innovating Intelligence! offers valuable suggestions. It’s been easy for me to communicate with them because we can talk about technical terms that they aren’t very well-versed in. Before we go live, we’ll try to fix a couple of issues we predict the app will face. Their knowledge of AR is strong due to their experience with the technology.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At times, it’s taken a while to explain how an AR interaction would work. Since the end product is so visual, it’s been difficult to communicate how every AR element should interact with the images. They have a higher level of tech than design skills and could improve on visualization.
