I am the Founder & CEO of a marketing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with The Growth Agency?

We were looking to market a health brand we have in the U.S. in another country, so we needed a vendor that could help with the different requirements and modalities of purchase. For example, subscriptions are very uncommon here.

We posted a job on Upwork and hired 2 companies (one of which was The Growth Agency) to do the same project, as a test. The Growth Agency quickly delivered better results. We now work exclusively with them.

Our ongoing engagement with The Growth Agency began in November 2016.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The Growth Agency grasps what works right now in the US and are on the cutting edge of marketing. They’re also excellent at translating that to another culture. The team knows what they’re doing concerning platforms and technologies.

How did The Growth Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

Our teams mainly communicated throgh Asana. They are very organized, adhering to deadlines and delivering results.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their key strength is their ability to understand a concept or a business and translate it to the culture they’re working with. The team provides an end-to-end experience that is very satisfactory. They have an eye for detail and work independently once given their task.

They went through some growing pains during a fast growth time, but they overcame that and have updated all infrastructure.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the CEO of an electronic signature company focused on the Latin American market that relies on identity verification as one of its key differentiators.

For what projects/services did your company hire The Growth Agency?

Our company needed help in understanding the Brazilian market and identifying the official sources of identity verification in the country. We required a local entity to engage the proper Brazilian authorities so that we could consume their identity services.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to have a reliable connection to the main Brazilian identity source so that we could fully identify the signatories in our E-signature platform.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Our team posted a job listing in various freelance and on-demand websites explaining what we needed in the Brazilian market. We received emails from more than 50 interested parties, from individuals to companies. We screened about 10 for interviews and the Growth Agency was the only one to proactively send us a video describing how they could help us.

Describe the project in detail.

The project consisted in doing research to identify all the identity sources in Brazil, from the National Driver's License Authority to local and State Authorities who issue identity cards. Once identified the technical requirements to connect to their respective databases and the costs associated had to be ascertained and compared. Finally, once the correct source was selected, all the necessary paperwork to be able to get access to its API had to be completed and submitted. The final part was actually integrating and using the newly connected service to our own platform. All of this was accomplished.

What was the team composition?

We had one key contact who took care of all the project for us. If there was a bigger team supporting him, we were unaware. The communication with our contact was always excellent.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

In less that one week we had a very detailed comparison of all the identity sources in Brazil along with their associated costs and technical requirements for integration. Shortly after that we started integration and had a useable product for the Brazilian market.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had frequent updates on their progress, mainly by video conferencing tools. There was a very clear idea of how the project was going and when it would be completed.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The initiative they had to undertake tasks that were not part of the project but would be beneficial for our company entering the Brazilian market. They were fully committed to us having a successful landing in Brazil and gaining traction quickly. We even got tips from them on potential competition for our service. The relationship still continues until today and they have become more like a partner than a vendor.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I can't find any area for improvement which was not addressed and improved on at the moment. Looking back, the project was a huge success for us.

We were planning some events here in Brazil and we needed help with digital marketing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

For our first event, they designed the invitations, helped us find a venue, did all the publicity, and recorded it. One of the team members helped us with the presentation and spoke at the event. They did everything for us, including coming up with all the activities, so all we had to do was show up to speak about what we wanted to share. 

During our partnership, The Growth Agency has also done marketing for our events, including video production.

In addition to working on our brand and brand materials, the team has also set up a document where we can track our Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter metrics and results. They’ve helped us gather information such as our target personas, their genders, and their ages.

What is the team composition?

We work with a team of 8–9 people.  

How did you come to work with The Growth Agency?

Our offices are in the same building. However, we met them during an Instagram live that we held.

We’ve spent a total of $65,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2019. Our engagement is ongoing because we still have a lot of projects and need their help.

They have a good network and, in addition to providing us with consultancy services, they have also given us a lot of contacts in the blockchain and cryptocurrency markets. They even represent a company that we do a lot of events for. 

Working with them has resulted in more business for us. They mostly help us with events but their network is also strong, which is very important to us. The companies that they’ve connected us with have sponsored some of our events. 

How did The Growth Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

We are a team of three co-founders. We don’t have a CEO so The Growth Agency serves as our leader, which has been very helpful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very strategic and smart, and they’ve helped us a great deal.

It would be nice if they had more free time. They work for companies in other countries and sometimes aren’t available.

I found them on Upwork. Fares (President, The Growth Agency) was more responsive and knowledgeable than the other candidates.

The Growth Agency found and coordinated with a local supplier in Brazil. Fares also communicated with our data center engineers and with our customers about shipment and delivery. Fares did it all from start to end, although he did get help from his colleagues when he was attended an important conference.

The project has been completed on time and within the budget.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was quite easy to work and communicate with Fares. One of his strongest skills is the ability to self-manage. Once we agreed on a course of action, we didn’t have to worry about anything anymore. He kept our project moving forward even though we were in different time zones.

It has been an honor to work with someone like Fares. He went above and beyond the task. I want to work with this vendor again.
