Here's a summary of the work:

• Rebuild the 5 different stages covering different aspects of mental well-being, including soothing stress, building resilience and emotional balance and softening the inner critic 
• Implement a new visual dynamic that brings to life the user journey and highlights the ever-changing, ever-different qualities of mindfulness.
• Create a new donation-based payment process, and remove any reference to a subscription. People don't need another subscription in their life 
• Create new custom animations and effects.

We hired Groovy to build an online booking platform for our health and wellness marketplace globally starting with the US and Canada, with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and security. Deliverables included a fast-loading website, the ability to handle high traffic, and robust security against potential attacks. We also required thorough quality assurance to ensure reliability across devices and browsers.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Progress was consistently hindered by Groovy's inadequate QA processes, leading to persistent bugs and delays. Despite assurances that issues would be resolved after payment, many bugs remained unresolved. Eventually, Groovy ceased work on our project, citing the excessive number of bugs in the product they delivered. Their claim that "bugs are normal in the industry" failed to justify the extensive backlog and unmet requirements.

Ultimately, Groovy delivered a product riddled with hundreds of unresolved issues and demanded sign-off for payment, leaving us with an incomplete and dysfunctional platform. This lack of professional accountability and integrity resulted in significant losses of time, money, and trust.

Groovy generally delivered on time and made an effort to meet deadlines, though they occasionally struggled, requiring multiple follow-ups from our team due to lapses in communication. While deadlines were met, the quality of work often required further corrections, which diminished the overall impact of their timeliness and efficiency. We had to address their QA issues on multiple occasions, though some improvements were seen over time.

We appreciated their ambition and bravery in taking on challenging requirements. However, many aspects of the scope required expertise they lacked, leading to significant R&D time that we ultimately had to pay for due to their inexperience.

Honesty and accountability will go a long way in fostering a long term relationship.

• Enrollment flow for parents to schedule and pay for activities

• Integration to whatsapp for OTPs and customer service tool to manage support requests

We built a fully functional app in a relatively short period of time and they stayed within the budget I had set. We launched in early June and over the course of the last 3 weeks have onboarded 30 providers and have over 800 app downloads and users booking activities on our app every day.

Our PM, Rahul, is very responsive to anything I need and is good about keeping me in the loop in regards to estimates on time and cost required to incorporate new things. He is responsive to feedback and good about setting up calls with the team whenever needed to talk things through.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What attracted me to Groovy initially was how detailed they were with their initial proposal. They took my requirements and broke down an easy to understand plan that included time and cost estimations and made it easy to modify the scope and see how that would impact the project. Additionally, Krunal, their CEO is very friendly and knowledgeable and offered great feedback and advice and has been in touch at various points throughout the project to offer additional suggestions.
Finally, I will say that they have been very flexible with me throughout this project, as we had to look to expand scope in certain areas based on things we learned about the market or needs of our providers. They've been very transparent in terms of what these scope changes will mean in terms of impacts to delivery dates and costs associated.

It took us some time initially to get into a proper development flow with the team, but I think that's pretty normal with any development project. I also think we could have improved some aspects of the testing of the application, but to be fair we didn't have great documentation for the testing team to go off of either, so this is understandable as well. They did an excellent job given the limited resources, time, and costs associated with the project.

Project is ready, and we’re planning for a new phase before launching. We’re planning the new phase, as Groovy delivered the Phase 1 features 1 month earlier than expected.

We are using JIRA and wanted a team that is flexible to use JIRA and Slack. They have experience using JIRA and Slack, so project management was outstanding from their end. Groovy is too accurate when they’re showing up in a meeting, always ahead of time.

It’s rare to find an agency, who can work with you like a Technical Partner. Not just technically they’ve helped us in Planning and Marketing too.

Before awarding this project, I wanted to understand on how the internal function works as the development team is key to any of the outsource project. I evidently remember in my deliberation with Krunal, who stated that they invest in local talent and that was obviously the key reason I went ahead with them.

1. Scope of Work: When we signed agreement and defined scope of project, and to what our platform is now, it has completely evolved. 2. We are fully aware on our business problem and that has kept us in check on what and how our platform should look and importantly how our clients will accept it, including the individuals from non-technology domain.
3. Technologies: We have used the latest web technologies including encryption of database, two-factor verification, and integration with third-party billing platform.

After multiple iteratives our platform is in final phase of penetration testing and shall be launched in due course of time.

Any offshore project must work with “Trust and Confidence” and that has always reflected from the team at Groovy. Even at times, when there were challenges due to Encryption and Integration with 3rd party billing platform, I didn’t hold back in awarding that crucial element of our project as "Trust" was already developed, and I absolutely had no hesitation if the team was able to learn and deliver.

The backend changes went live in just 2 weeks after they started working, and the end client was happy with the work. About APIs, They used Swagger to document the APIs and it looked professional.

The service provider responded on October 17, 2022.

We think that this review is extremely harsh. Had there been a facility to rate the clients on Clutch, we could have expressed our disagreement and disappointment with their unprofessional attitude towards us. In our experience, there were times when we had disagreements or misunderstandings, but we were shown the right path by the clients instead of ignoring communication and blocking outstanding payments.

In order to get the answers and sort out misunderstandings, we made several approaches but none were answered. So far, those who were responsible were held accountable and we make the promise that the same situation will not repeat in the future. Even though we strongly feel that we are a victim of a harsh and unprofessional attitude, we are still ready to solve this situation through any manner of compensation.

The main reason to go with Groovy was that they simply seemed to be highy skilled and super fast forward. And we value a direct link to the guys that make the magic happen. Less talking, more efficiency!
