My name is Dr.Grace Machat, and I am the founder and CEO of Machat Medical Aesthetics- a medical spa located in the heart of Vaughan. We are specialized in all things skincare and beauty, including (but not limited to) skin tightening, fat reduction, botox, and fillers.

We interviewed upward of 10 local Web Design and SEO firms, none of which offered the same level of care and transparency as GrayCyan. Ultimately, it was their honesty in our introductory call and thorough follow-up that led us to hire the team.

We kicked off the project with a detailed zoom discussing our objectives, which included improving our site's CTAs as well as creating a pseudo-eCommerce platform.

The purpose of this project was to redirect visitors to our vendor's custom webshops for our spa, to drive online sales during the COVID lockdown. The team then designed some sample visuals for us to choose from, and quickly got to redesigning on WordPress.

We worked directly with 2 Customer Success Coordinators from the GrayCyan team. Both were very involved and responsive throughout the process.

We've just completed the site development project and are now embarking on our SEO journey with the team. While we don't have any quantitative KPIs yet to measure the project success, we've received positive feedback from clients and are personally impressed.

GrayCyan was highly responsive at all times, within and outside of business hours. We communicated mostly via email, phone, and weekly Zoom meetings to recap project progress.

Not only are we impressed with the quick turnaround and professional appearance of our new website, we appreciate the extra time and effort that the team dedicated to explaining their processes to us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We haven't run into any issues so far. There was one small hiccup with our server but the team was quick and proactive, resolving the problem in no time.

GrayCyan was able to address our company’s request by delivering a modern-looking and user-friendly website in a short period of time (one month).

We had frequent communication throughout the development of the website. Every time a new section was developed, they shared a link with us for review. Followed some feedback which they usually took into considerations for the next draft until the final product was delivered.

They provided good and frequent communication about their progress. They accepted our feedback and reached our expectations.

Some descriptions in the team section were wrong when we received the final product. But they explained how to edit those details, which was quick and easy to do.

We wanted to update our website to bring it into 2021. We hadn’t updated it in many years.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Originally, GrayCyan proposed a multi-page website, but that wasn’t something we were looking to do. They came back to us with a proposal for a one-page website, which was more in-line with what we wanted for the company. It turned out to be just the right solution.

Our existing website was also a one-product page, and we liked having everything in one place. We didn’t have a specific design in mind, but we did know we didn’t want a DIY website like Squarespace. I trusted GrayCyan to come to us with a nice template, and they did. We sent them a bunch of pictures that we wanted on the website. Their team took all of the information off of our old site, and they reconfigured it into the new one.

I worked with three people, including Nishkam (Founder), Armand (Director of Business Development), and a website designer. 

How did you come to work with GrayCyan?

I had read good reviews of GrayCyan online, and my best friend also recommended them — she’d used them for her company’s website. 

We figured that they were the right fit because they came back to us with a solution for the one-page website, which was also less expensive than their original proposal. However, it really came down to the fact that they came back to us with another solution, and we appreciated that.

We spent $1,000–$1,500 CAD (approximately $790–$1,200 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

I began speaking with GrayCyan around mid-November 2020, and the website went live in January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a fantastic job. All three of our contacts were easy to get ahold of at all hours; I even spoke to them after business hours. Whenever we were editing the website, they implemented the changes immediately. It was a very quick process.

How did GrayCyan perform from a project management standpoint?

Their performance was fantastic — I’d give them a 10/10. We communicated through email and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We thought about doing a website last year, and the company we spoke to didn’t sound very professional or motivated — I emailed them and didn’t get a response for two weeks. GrayCyan was on top of things and kept in touch with us. They were good at making sure the project went smoothly and moved forward in a timely fashion.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think so. They did an amazing job for us. I was very satisfied.

Any advice for potential customers?

Try to work with all of the people they suggest working with, such as a website developer and their sales team. I’d also suggest listening to any feedback that they have to give you. They suggested where we could improve on our old website, and I told them to do what they needed to do. The suggestions that they implemented turned out to be great. Just listen to them — they know what they’re doing.

Following this we had calls 2-3 times a week during development till the website was completed. After, we received training on how to edit in WordPress.

We won several grants after the website redesign. Meaning that judging agencies reacted far better to website upgrade.

Had calls with the CEO and their sales team 2-3 times a week. Would start with them providing us with a website demo link, us providing feedback via screenshots and text in word document, touching base when edits were made, then finalizing changes. We repeated this several times.

The frequent contact. They are always available via phone, text, or email and can get changes done very quickly.

No I was very happy with the design process through them.

Our website needed a facelift as we had formally registered in July and it was time to move the website to WordPress to make our work more accessible to people. GrayCyan was hired to develop the website and new logo.

We searched for web developers but then found GrayCyan through a mutual friend that had recently hired them to develop their website. Experience, cost, flexibility, and creativity were some of the deciding factors that led us to hire GrayCyan.

We had an initial meeting to discuss the objectives and expectations. From that point on, CyanGray started first with the logo and then the mock-ups. There were a few iterations, and then the final version of the WordPress site. We continued to work with the team to fine-tune the site and update content.

After launching the site, we had some good feedback from our clients. There was a genuine liking for the new logo, and they found the new site much more user friendly for information and booking appointments.

We are a startup company that was looking for a reliable individual to design our website. We were also looking for someone that was experienced in designing websites and could provide some input of their own.

Our goal was to create a website that is user-friendly and it allows the visitors to be able to interact with it easily. Also, a site that is clear in its identity and provides the most value to the individuals navigating it.

I had meetings with multiple companies that were also doing website designs themselves. I was impressed by Nishkam and the samples of work that he had.

Nishkam seemed to understand our goal and would best bring our vision to fruition. His experience, enthusiasm, and knowledge made this choice easier over picking other web design companies.

We wanted a website that had a B2B aspect as well as an e-commerce component. This was a bit challenging as most websites tend to focus on one of the other. With the help of Nishkam, we discussed some ways that we could do that. We would check in twice a week as they made changes with our feedback.

The first 2 weeks included setting up the page and getting the initial look and aspects of the site down. From there, we made changes that made it look very different from the initial designs and Nishkam was very helpful in providing feedback as well as providing those deliverables or any changes we wanted within that week.

I mostly worked for Nishkam (Founder) who was a pleasure to work with. He would relay some of our concerns to his developer.

We have received great feedback from our contacts in international markets. We have also been contacted by some other companies about some inquiries they had regarding the products we sell. We are just at the starting point, so we are anticipating more contacts in the near future.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They would try to make time to meet at least once or twice a week to talk about some changes that we required and giving advice on whether those changes help improve our website.

Nishkam was prompt in responding to any of our concerns and he would take the time to listen and share some of his valuable experience with us.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I found that their responsiveness, knowledge and experience were very impressive. In fact, with their help, we were able to get our website design better than what we had envisioned.

They were very helpful in responding to our concerns and making any changes that we wanted. They went above and beyond to make even the smallest changes to keep us satisfied with their work.

This was our first experience with a web designer and they provided us with all the help that we required. There are no areas of improvement I could think of at this time.

I’m the treasurer of Utilization Managers Network of Ontario. We’re a nonprofit organization that gets together to discuss and train each other on new things coming into the healthcare field.

We needed to improve our website because it was built about 20 years ago. Our old site didn’t allow for us to take any payments, so our membership had to mail a check.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed the site. We provided a lot of input and documented our requirements. We wanted our members to be able to pay via credit cards. They completely rebuilt our site so we could integrate Stripe and take online payments. We also wanted a more modern visual representation to our site. They also helped with the technical aspects like coding and development. Since then, they’ve provided support and have hosted it for us.

What is the team composition?

I spoke with Nishkam (Founder) has been our project manager throughout the engagement. He   does some of the development, but both his Canadian and Indian-based teams do most of it.

How did you come to work with GrayCyan.com?

I did a search online, and was actually looking for a local partner. Then we narrowed it down to a list of When we launched this, we did an RFP and had four different developers come out and pitch us and tell

us what they could do for us. We then had four developers come pitch us and we chose GrayCyan.com even though they were one of the smaller groups. They actually came out in person, while others just did it through a webinar.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2019–September 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve had a number of people tell us how good it looks. Compared to our old site, it’s very modern and sleek. The functionality is there. We had several people sign up for the next event using the site. Nobody has come back to say that they have some issues. We had to make a few adjustments because of things we didn’t anticipate, but GrayCyan.com were able to address them quickly.

How did GrayCyan.com perform from a project management standpoint?

Nishkam was very responsive. As I said, we talked nearly every day as we got close to the launch. I never had a problem with responses from them via email either. It was nice having one contact as well. We never had to interface with the developers, which really streamlined communication. He was great.

As a result of having teams in India and Canada, they had people working on the website day in and day out. We spoke to Nishkam sometimes daily.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They seemed to care that we had limited resources compared to other clients, but the understood what we needed and came up with a solution that would work within our budget. They were really good at figuring out a reasonable way to get it done without costing us a fortune. They often proposed options that would fit our budget.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We did have to hire a copywriter to help us with the copy on the site because they didn’t offer those services. It would be nice if they offered that service.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clients should know exactly what they need and will be able to detail it as much as possible. Know the functionality and features you’ll need so they can estimate much it will cost and how long it will take.
