We have created a social network and collaboration tool for a specific organization. I am the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with GEON Analytics?

We were looking for a developer that could build a beta version of our platform, in order for us to test the concept with users. It's an interactive and robust platform, so we had an extensive research process, ultimately choosing GEON Analytics.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

GEON Analytics has developed our platform for the web. It's also optimized for mobile devices.

How did you come to work with GEON Analytics?

Coming from a telecommunications background, we are relatively new to the development process. We did some research on third-party developers, narrowing the list down to a few. GEON Analytics was in our backyard, based out of San Antonio. We also appreciated the fact that their core values seemed to fit ours, and the goal which we were trying to achieve for the platform, as well as the community which we're targeting.

How much have you invested with GEON Analytics?

The total cost of GEON Analytics' development for our beta version was between $10,000 and $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with GEON Analytics in May 2016. The beta version is almost complete.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

GEON Analytics stood out through their industry knowledge, not just in terms of development, but also in maintaining data privacy. GEON Analytics is a down-to-earth and open company.

We were looking for a developer with which we could form a partnership, and use continually for updates, as we moved from our beta version. GEON Analytics wanted to push the partnership as well, which led to a good collaboration that allows us to talk openly, get our vision out there, and come to a solution easily. GEON Analytics' team listened to what we were looking for and delivered the expected results.

What did you find most impressive about GEON Analytics?

I appreciated GEON Analytics' knowledge of the industry and expertise. They have some very good developers with extensive backgrounds. GEON Analytics' lead developer has worked in various facets of the software industry, and that was exactly what we were looking for: someone who could take our idea, brainstorm with us, and use his experience in the industry in determining what should be added and what shouldn't, in order to deliver a minimum viable product without having us continuously pour money into unnecessary development. He allowed us to remain within budget.

Are there any areas GEON Analytics could improve?

We're relatively new to the development process, so we've had to keep up with the industry lingo. This issue is more on our side. Communicating our vision to a third-party developer, ensuring that the result was completed to our liking, wasn't really an issue, but it took us some time to gain experience. Trying to speak developer talk and understanding the logistics behind writing code was a challenge. To me, it was always easier to describe in plain terms what I wanted. The process which GEON Analytics required in order to write specifications was something to learn.

Andronico's Community Markets is a San Francisco Bay Area specialty and natural grocer. I am the Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with GEON Analytics?

GEON has helped us build projects which span supply chains and analytics, developing purchasing, consumer-facing operations, marketing, and promotional apps and websites.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

GEON has worked both on consumer-facing marketing and promotional websites and mobile apps, which enabled us to effect campaigns. GEON has also handled data migration and accessing, allowing us to take all sales data information and extrapolate it into procurement and purchasing with our national broad-line distributors, creating a perpetual inventory and having a much more efficient supply chain. This was done across our center store procurement.

GEON has built websites which allow us to take orders from customers online, and sell holiday products. GEON has also built web and mobile capabilities for us, allowing us to have health and wellness marketing, both for employees and for customers.

How did you come to work with GEON Analytics?

I had worked with GEON's team within previous companies for other projects. When I became the CEO of my company, I reached out to them.

How much have you invested with GEON Analytics?

Even though we are running a company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have contracted a developer from Austin, Texas. This was done for a reason, namely that I found that there was much more value and product quality to be found with GEON.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've had ongoing projects with GEON for the last year and a half.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

GEON has been able to produce creative, value-oriented, and quick solutions for our needs. We think of GEON as our own IT department. They're very responsive and have focused on what would create the best value for us, instead of the biggest invoice.

What did you find most impressive about GEON Analytics?

I selected GEON because they are fast, nimble, and have extreme knowledge for developing ideas into finished products, for both web and mobile devices. GEON has done this for us across healthcare, retail, and consumer-facing platforms. They have a lot of depth and breadth in their skillset. iOS development is especially important in our current work.

Are there any areas GEON Analytics could improve?

It's hard to judge a company that has already been contracted, because we get what we pay for. I can't speak for the internal workings of GEON. I think that they're terrific, and if they were a larger organization, they could take on larger projects. I don't have critical feedback.
