BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the finance director of a construction business. We’re also an office and furniture welfare provider.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HW Technology?
We had a lot more employees being taken on, which meant a lot more IT. Internally, we couldn’t cope with the challenges. We reached out to HW Technology (HWT).
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They took over control of our servers to ensure there was no downtime. In 2019, we needed a new overhaul of our hardware. They came in and set up our new laptops and desktops. The team connected everything to our servers and made sure everything was running efficiently. They stayed for a couple of days to make sure everything was correct. The team also provides instant support whenever we need it.
What is the team composition?
I work with their director. I work with 5–6 other engineers as well.
How did you come to work with HW Technology?
Our managing director and their director had a mutual connection. After one meeting, we decided they were the right team to work with going forward.
We started working together in June 2015, and our work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our entire team has positive feelings about HWT. We’ve had no complaints.
How did HW Technology perform from a project management standpoint?
We report any issues to their support desk. Someone always responds within 5–30 minutes. I typically call their director directly.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their efficient response time stands out. They’re always quick to resolve an issue or take control of a problem device and fix it from their end.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not really. Sometimes we don’t have the same engineer when a problem recurs, which can be tough. If they could assign the same engineer who already solved the issue once, they’d be able to fix it a lot quicker.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to use them before trying to fix your IT issue yourself. Don’t spend an hour trying to solve a problem when they can fix it in 10 minutes.
