Create a partner and customer portal to create and present quotes from partner venue to customers. The portal includes our CRM, quotes and commissions.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The launch of the portal into production and successfull use for both our partners and customers. We are constantly improving the portal and adds functionality

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The project was more complex than we initially thought which made us miss the deadline to production. The testing of the features required more of our time which we hadn't calculated. Looking back I think hiring of a tester would have been a good thing as well. After the first version was deployed in production we had to continue with a dev enviroment and the production environment. After some initial struggel to get that running and align on the process of deployment we have very good working relationship now. 
Looking back at the project we could also have spent more time to explain in better details the features we needed and why we needed them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are all very quick to respond and code the changes. When everyone understood the business logic of the portal it got even better.

Are there any areas for improvement or something DotLinker Technologies could have done differently?

I would put it this way, together we could have set up processes for feature request, bug reporting, testeing, release management and deployment in production better. The start was a little messy with lot of things to keep track of.

I’m an independent software engineer, and I develop many mobile applications.

What challenge were you trying to address with DotLinker?

I needed to build my portfolio website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

DotLinker built my portfolio website from scratch. After providing them with all of the requirements, they proceeded with the work, dividing the project into two phases. In the first phase, they worked on what users would see on my website, which included all of my writings and blogs and an ‘About Me’ and contact page. The second phase was for the development of the admin panel, which was only accessible to me. This allowed me to create content for my website.

Their team used HTML and CSS for the frontend and developed the backend using PHP and Laravel; the database was in MySQL. They provided maintenance support as well.

I worked with a core developer and a project manager, who served as my main point of contact.

I found DotLinker on Freelancer.com. They submitted their proposal for website development, and it looked and felt good to me.

We worked together on this project from September–November 2022.

Thanks to DotLinker’s help, I could finally reach out to people and direct them to my website so they could get all the details about my services. The site really helped me get known in my community.

How did DotLinker perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management style was good — whenever I had a new requirement, they worked flexibly to accommodate it. For managing tasks, we used GitHub. For communication, we interacted through Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like their flexibility and ability to anticipate what their clients want. They also deliver on time without needing any follow-ups from us.

No, they delivered whatever I asked for.
