The project started approximately 3.5 years ago and we have spent 350k plus on our project. The initial scope was to design and build a simple bridal platform and it quickly grew into something really big and massive. To date, we are close to 7-8k hours of work and still, there is no end in sight. When we started working, Digital butlers were in their infancy and didn't even know how to price themselves. What grew to be an approx 300k project was projected to be done in a few months for 15k USD. granted, they didnt know how to run a business but they certainly knew how to convince it was possible.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We made huge progress in our long-term goals but the experience of getting there was nothing short of horrific. The team was inconsistent, careless, and simply unprofessional at times. I had members of the team come out and meet me in a wifebeater while laying in bed with pillows all over. they have very poor English abilities and cannot for the life of them copyright even the smallest line of text.
Their specifications are hard to read even with google translate and their submission, presentation and QA testing is really really bad. all through the 3 years I was the one pointing out EVERY LITTLE PART OF THE BUILD, AT EVER SECTION. Their excuse was, we rather give you what you ask for when instead the work was simply careless. They were also pretty dishonest when it came to billing.

in three years, not a single deadline was ever met on time. The builds are never complete and require a huge amount of resources on top of the QA hours already billed for to fix typos, broken links, bugs, etc.

The ability of their management to constantly mislead and cover for their team's irresponsible outcomes. digital butlers do not hold their employees at all accountable for anything they do. EVEN WHEN ASKED MULTIPLE TIMES TO LOG HOURS AT THE TIME OF WORK AND NOT ENTER THEM MANUALLY.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Digital Butlers could have done differently?
yes, there are a ton of areas of improvement. The biggest one is hiring a team that actually understands and has a working knowledge of the task they claim they can handle. Their staff do not have a business use of the English language at all. Their management style lacks accountability and responsibility. Transparency when it comes to hours logging as well as the ability to deliver on deadlines with actual QA testing that is bug-free. Digital Butles prides themselves on having grown to close to 40 employees but does not product quality beyond a simple website if you don't micro manage them.

We are finishing the work on this project and are negotiating payment. Grateful to Clutch's support in deleting all "clone reviews" that were written, after we showed a Google Meet recording where the employer said: “You will either give me a discount or pay with your reputation.”
Work estimated at $15k was completed for that amount. Additional project stages were evaluated separately.
In the situation with "wifebeater and pillows", the developer joined a call with COVID-19 sickness to discuss the new features he had to develop and not slow down either the project or the team.
Our team works from the USA, Poland, and Cyprus. Those with English C+ level work with English-speaking employers, and those with Russian language skills work with Russian-speaking employers, with their approval.
The builds were indeed completed with a delay and we are proud that the error in our estimate for a 7000+ hour project is about 10%. We did/do all the revisions and corrections of our mistakes for FREE. In any project.
We use Tmetric.com to track time and the team cannot enter time manually as their pay is based on hours worked.
The client wants to duplicate a clock in Zoho. We agreed: Tmetric is required, Zoho is optional. So yes, time is often entered manually in Zoho. I told the team that quick reaction is more important than pressing an extra button in another service.
Agreed, areas for improvement exist, and working with us has downsides. But, Eli rated us 5.0 and highlighted the benefits of our services in an article on Clutch, six months ago, based on 3 years of interaction.

Digital Butlers needed to design and build the entire website from scratch. We started with just a copy (text) draft, which the team used to develop the entire design concept for both computer and mobile users. After finalizing the design with us, the developers began implementing the design, and continued that process for the next few weeks.
We needed a brand-new website with 4 "full pages" as well as a few simpler pages (e.g. FAQ, Order confirmation, privacy and terms). In addition to a multitude of animations and interactive functionality, Digital Butlers built two very complicated 3d-model animations that seemlessly integrated with user interaction.

There was a superb level of communication demonstrated by the team. Alex was very responsive, promptly responded to all emails, and readily got on calls even on short notice. Despite the 11-hour time difference, we were able to clearly communicate our goals, and the team discussed every single point that we wanted to discuss in detail. Not a single piece of detail was omitted or ignored.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The company had a very impressive detail-oriented approach to designing the website. When we disagreed on certain design choices, Digital Butlers discussed in depth why their choice was the best from a design perspective. They were ready to reach the most polished professional result even if we initially objected to a certain design decision.
Often times other teams would agree with whatever the client wants to make them happy, even if that hurts the final result of the project. Digital Butlers were not like that at all. I was mindblown by the attention to detail and absolute dedication to making the website as perfect as possible.
Even if it meant staying up long nights, working overtime, and fixing the smallest details (such as optimizing speed and fixing textures). This dedication to the final product is very rare to come by and much appreciated. Without that work by Digital Butlers, we wouldn't have a successful pre-order launch.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Digital Butlers could have done differently?
The only area of improvement I can think of is their prioritization of tasks. When working with Digital Butlers, it's good to be very clear about which tasks you believe have the highest priority of finishing first. Because the Digital Butlers team is so passionate about delivering a perfected final product, they may sometimes spend a lot of time fixing a certain section before moving onto other steps to fix. Their dedication to the project shows even here!

When you create content at scale, you'll run into issues. You need a way of developing a myriad of marketing assets in a click of a button. You need to synthesize a very specialized role and make it approachable for someone with little to no experience. We partnered with digital Butlers because we needed help making a dream on a napkin a reality. A dream where we could provide low-cost content solutions to our members at scale.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Fortunately, we were referred to Digital butlers through an existing design partner. Our relationship over the years has grown as our needs have grown. It was a natural progression.

There are too many projects to list in detail, so I will give an overall look. Website Design, App Design, Web Development. Software development. These projects all range from automated website building to post-production delivery. We are still refining these projects as we speak.

We have a series of UX, UI, Front End, Backend, Project managers that are all part of the team. At most, we've had 10 team members all working together.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The platforms we are designed as so impactful it's hard to measure directly. Workforce expenditure through automations will be reduced by around 70%. Cost to supply our platform will be reduced by 50%. Cost to post produce our content will be reduced by almost 85%. Not to mention the time and personnel savings, too. We haven't delved into the exact metrics yet.

We have multiple layers of developments. Support. Development. Design. Retouching, so we primarily use Kaiten and Monday.com. Meetings are organized and scheduled on Monday & Friday with communication via Slack during the week.

One of the best parts of my day is finding out how we progressed in our mission. The dedication it takes to show up day in and day out is what has impressed me the most about this company. You will never progress in business if you don't have a team that is consistent. You will never progress in business if you don't have a team that is dedicated. They are both.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Yes. We continually have on-going discussions about more transparency and better communication. I don't think this is exclusive to DB, it's just part of growing a technology business. You don't always know what is around the corner, but after years, you should know how to respond...and deal less with reacting.

How did you select this vendor?
I worked with DB in the past on another project for a fintech startup in NYC. I found them on the webflow marketplace and got in touch with them. After a long vetting process, I ended up selecting DB out of more than 7 vendors.

We provided the team with a brief, describing what we need and what's the long-term vision. There was a high level structure with specific details on what each part of the website should achieve. We then worked with the DB designers to make sure that they understand what we need. The designers prepared the wireframes with a specific narrative. Once we agreed on the wireframes, we got to see the final designs. The were much better than what we expected.

The final designs deliverables were above our expectations. We went through every single small detail. All the team gave their thumbs up to the final design. We're planning to move to the development phase very soon.

Very effective. We had 2 calls per week, each call was under 1 hour or 30 minutes respectively. All the work is done on time, strictly according to our schedule.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They understand UX/UI and they also can do mobile very well, which most vendors suck at. Their communication is spot on and I liked their attention to detail. Also, they care about the final outcome, which is super important.

I can't think of anything right now.
