I’m the president and CEO of a shipping company, and we move freights from New Jersey to Bermuda.

What challenge were you trying to address with DEVSTUDIO TECHNOLOGIES LTD?

We needed someone to provide us with custom software development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

95% of our work is directed towards developing a database and web app using PHP coding. Our primary platform is Laravel and we’re hosting the database on our own cPanel with InMotion Hosting.

DEVSTUDIO also recommended some changes to the old website and iterated some mock-ups a few times before ending up with the final version. We have them on retainer because the product is constantly evolving, so we’re continuing to build new components and optimize them for our users.

Our main point of contact is Muhammad (Laravel Team Lead), but we also communicate with Asad (Founder & CEO) and Umair (Co-Founder & CTO) when we launch new projects.

My brother who had worked on a blockchain project with DEVSTUDIO recommended them to me.

We’ve spent somewhere between $100,000–$250,000 USD.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership started in March 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

DEVSTUDIO has helped us automate our business, which significantly increased our operating profit. They’ve certainly met all of our expectations and exceeded many of them.

How did DEVSTUDIO TECHNOLOGIES LTD perform from a project management standpoint?

They execute each task efficiently from a cost and timeline perspective when we give them clear directions. We typically communicate through Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed by the speed of their development and the quality of the output they produce.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve had a few issues with version control, but I can’t totally blame them for that because we’re always implementing random aspects into each iteration.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise them to plan ahead and document everything, but only give it to the developers when it’s been thoroughly reviewed to achieve the best possible results.

I’m the founder and CEO of BtheB Technologies. It’s a holding with multiple companies and brands under its umbrella.

What challenge were you trying to address with DEVSTUDIO TECHNOLOGIES LTD?

I started designing a mobile app that would get rid of business cards, and offer a global solution for virtual connection and information exchange in 2017. However, there were a lot of projects I needed to undertake between 2017 and 2020, so I had to revisit the mobile app design project, as well as my other day-to-day businesses and activities. 

I got around to finishing the design and the details for the mobile app, so I needed to find a company that I can trust to develop this app, and build what’s necessary to make it a global product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DEVSTUDIO is helping me develop a mobile app that’s compatible with iOS and Android.

What is the team composition?

I primarily work with Asad (Founder & CEO) and Umair (CTO). Apart from them, I’m also in contact with scrum masters, graphic designers, and iOS and Android developers, so I’m probably exposed to 13–15 members of their team.

How did you come to work with DEVSTUDIO TECHNOLOGIES LTD?

I had help from a concierge service to help me vet candidates, and narrow the field based on my requirements and overall specifications. DEVSTUDIO was part of the top five, so I went through the initial interview process with them along with other companies — then ultimately selected them for the work.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve probably spent more than $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership started in July 2020, and they still see the day-to-day operations. 

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I pay for the project by man-hours because it gives me a lot of flexibility in terms of how I work with them. additionally, people who’ve used the app have spoken very highly of it, noting its ease of use and availability. It also helps small businesses, entrepreneurs, and contractors acquire a business card whenever they get boots on the ground anywhere around the world.

How did DEVSTUDIO TECHNOLOGIES LTD perform from a project management standpoint?

I met with the CEO in person when he flew all the way from Pakistan, to my location in South Florida. We would have daily morning meetings because of the discrepancy between the US and Pakistan, and as far as the fluidity of how we converse, it’s extraordinary — the project runs very smoothly because of their approach. Even after hours when I need something, we have our own unique ways of communicating independently.

Moreover, they work when I’m asleep, so I would communicate what I need, and they would have the projects ready to initiate and execute the following day.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed by their overall knowledge of the industry and my app. They made the success of the app very personal to them, as if they were launching their own product — they took a lot of pride and special ownership of the development, and I forged a very nice bond with the entire team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, because I particularly like how they perform at every level. They know what’s ahead of the road and if there are any bends coming up, they would offer an alternate route. Their way of communication is amazing, and they conduct themselves professionally and intellectually.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would say to put together a business plan and complete your vision, prior to selecting someone to build your app. When I came to DEVSTUDIO, 95% of what I wanted to do was already on paper, and the remaining 5% came about through the development partnership — but the overall process was always an open collaboration.

Everything they provide me is always in my best interest, so I would also suggest being open-minded to what you’re going into.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the owner of a software company that provides inventory solutions for companies.

For what projects/services did your company hire DEVSTUDIO TECHNOLOGIES LTD, and what were your goals?

We hired DevStudio to finish out an app we had started. There was significant rework of the application that needed to be done on the front end and the back end. We had to implement a new api and work strenuously to get that working. Our goals were to update the app, include new features, and have the api working.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I selected DevStudio for the job because the already had great reviews. This is a company that will work with you to get the job done. Whether that is with budget or time lines. They can ensure it will get done.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Some things in our scope of work were fixing all screens of the app to better represent our needs, having the designations of assets, tags lookup, bulk update on assets, & sdk integration. They did this all in kotlin.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I worked with mainly one person. Umair Bajwa. I would recommend anyone who works with DevStudio request Umair to spearhead their project, he is great at what he does.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to capture our major client within a few weeks after development finished. We have had great feedback, and are working on fixes some things currently that will allow us to jump start getting other clients.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project manager was great with communication. Even though there was a big-time difference in our locations, he did not let that change anything.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I found the ability to get things done fast and on time to be impressive. They were willing to work overtime and late hours to get the job done.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I thought everything has been executed properly and to the standards that DevStudio holds.
