There’s been an increase of users monthly since launch. Their team was communicative and hardworking. While their processing speed could increase, Cubet Techno Labs Pvt Ltd is full of attentive developers that create high-quality work.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO & founder of AirGym, a fitness mobile application that allows users to book time at a gym whenever they want without signing a contract.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Cubet Techno Labs Pvt Ltd?

I hired Cubet Techno Labs Pvt Ltd to develop the fitness app for iOS and Android.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

After hiring Cubet Techno Labs Pvt Ltd, we had a weekly conference call where we discussed sprints and goals. I gave their team a basic outline of our guidelines, and they supplied me with their plan for each week. Their team built our mobile app along with our website. The app needed a booking feature along with a payment portal. Gym owners needed to be able to schedule times for people to come by. It also required map functionality so users could see different locations. They also needed to be able to leave reviews on various gyms.

What is the team composition?

We had two specific people that we engaged with frequently, including a project manager. Lovegin (Founder & CEO, Cubet Techno Labs Pvt Ltd) was also involved.

How did you come to work with Cubet Techno Labs Pvt Ltd?

I think I found them on Google while looking for a company with fitness experience in the app world. Before hiring Cubet Techno Labs Pvt Ltd, we had a few calls discussing their capabilities and organizational set-up. We found out they were the right fit after figuring out what they could and couldn’t do.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost about $34,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2018, and the app and site launched in July 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since it’s launched, we’ve seen about 200 users a month. Everyone is pleased with the look and feel of the app. While there were a few things that needed to be tweaked initially, their team was on top of it. Even as of last week, something came up, and they were right there, providing excellent support.

How did Cubet Techno Labs Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management style was effective. The project manager ensured that my other point of contact understood the goals weekly, handling any feedback gave. They focused on any tweaks or improvements. We mainly used email as a communication channel. Lovegin was always available when I emailed. They mostly met deadlines, and communication was excellent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their responsiveness is a highlight. It didn’t matter if a question was asked at night or during the weekend; they got me back to me quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I was hoping for the app to be finished within four months, and it ended up taking about seven. Their speed at which they go to market can be improved upon.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Before contacting Cubet Techno Labs Pvt Ltd, I spent a lot of time researching the process of app development, which allowed me to understand what I needed in terms of concept, workflow, and other elements. I think this sped up the process of their team understanding my scope. We were able to hit the ground running.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a company that provides a specialized social media platform. It allows creative people to exchange and share their work through a variety of mediums.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Cubet Techno Labs?

We engaged Cubet Techno Labs to help us develop our platform. We specifically needed help to identify strategies to move forward and launch the alpha and beta version of the MVP.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cubet Techno Labs developed the platform as a native iOS application. We have an Android version in progress. The app’s key features include a chat function and interactions with posts such as commenting, liking, and sharing. Users can create profiles that they can then tag with their skills and values, making it easier for other users to filter and find them. The platform can also upload multiple photos and videos in a single post—a highly complex functionality that we’re proud of. Users can blend images with videos and resize, reorder, and restyle them as they wish.

Our team provided design files to Cubet Techno Labs’ development team. They completed work in two-week sprints using agile methodology. We received a build after each sprint; we provided feedback that their team then used to create a new iteration. Our beta version launched between late 2016 and early 2017. We worked on the final version from May until December 2018.

What is the team composition?

Our primary contact was their project manager who led a development team of 3–4 people. We also stayed in touch with our initial point of contact at Cubet Techno Labs.

How did you come to work with Cubet Techno Labs?

I was researching phpFox, a framework for social media platforms. Cubet Techno Labs offered great articles on the subject, so I contacted them and met a member of their business and marketing team. We kept in touch, and he told me more about their team and development skills in web and mobile. He helped us decide to move from a web application to a native iOS application.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $50,000–$100,000

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from July 2016 until January 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Cubet Techno Labs delivered the latest version of our app in January 2018. It included highly complex visual features, which they executed well.

How did Cubet Techno Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

The project ran smoothly from start to finish. We had daily check-ins which we never ran into issues with. However, due to time zone differences, our conversations were sometimes short. Holidays also caused occasional small hitches in work and communication, but we’re otherwise satisfied with the collaboration.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Cubet Techno Labs stayed on task and delivered on the promises. Their team was highly skilled and trustworthy. They were determined to overcome challenges and meet our requirements and goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their developers primarily specialized in Laravel and PHP. We would have appreciated if they had more developers with more expertise in newer technologies and languages such as Ruby on Rails.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CTO of a crowdfunding platform that helps musicians raise money to launch albums.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Cubet Techno Labs?

Similarly to many startups, we wanted to build a globally scalable product to solve a substantial international problem. Since we could potentially have a lot of users, we needed enterprise-level quality. We didn't have the budget to approach that level of developer in London, so we looked for offshore solutions. Cubet Techno Labs was the team that we chose.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cubet Techno Labs executed the full-service delivery of our web platform. They helped us define our basic idea at a granular level. I had prepared some wireframes that articulated the essential user journeys. They gave us input on the designs and advised us on the best approach to developing a solution.

Our platform has two types of user profiles that are standard for the web. People can set up an account that serves as a mini record label and then search our database for artists they want to sign or support financially. Artists can create crowdfunding campaigns to record, launch, and market new albums.

Since we weren't coming from a technical angle internally, they showed us how to adjust and enhance the UX. Cubet Techno Labs built out the solutions architecture for the backend. The database and platforms they selected were MongoDB and a Laravel framework for the frontend.  We've worked together on other mobile and web app projects, as well. Everything Cubet Techno Labs has ever done for me has been exceptionally good.

What is the team composition?

We've worked directly or indirectly with at least 10–15 different people from Cubet Techno Labs. Their resources specialize in many different areas, including database, frontend, and backend development.

How did you come to work with Cubet Techno Labs?

I found Cubet Techno Labs through Upwork. They responded to the advertisement we'd posted. After a few conversations with the CEO, we felt comfortable with their approach. We'd had a few awful experiences prior, so we were very picky about who we worked with. They made a great impression, so we started our partnership.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent over 20,000 UK pounds (approximately $25,600 USD). We tend to work on a modular basis.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2015. Usually, we tend to work iteratively. As we build out new features and functionalities, we engage their services. We don't have any active work going on right now. Once we get the next round of user feedback and sort out the next set of modules, we will have them build out the work.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Most of our feedback is anecdotal at this point. We haven't put quantifiable measures in place.  When we work onshore, we use a slightly different approach. Past offshore companies we’ve used promised us the world, but every single one let us down.

Cubet Techno Labs was the complete opposite. They delivered everything they promised right on time and empowered us to create the best possible solution. Equipped with a broad range of skills, they helped us with everything from the frontend to the backend. We had an entirely different experience than we had with any previous provider.

How did Cubet Techno Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Cubet Techno Labs' excellent project management is one of their key differentiators. Unlike most vendors who typically assign a senior developer to keep clients informed about progress, they have dedicated project management teams who seem to be available all the time.

They're very responsive and proactive about reporting issues, problems or delays. Every week, they send us a status report. We're trying to transition to an Agile methodology, but that will take some time. They're exceptionally good at making sure we always know where we are.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It's hard to choose just one thing that's the most impressive. Fundamentally, it comes down to the exceptional quality. Our internal solutions architect is constantly impressed with the quality of the work Cubet Techno Labs produces.

Cubet Techno Labs’ communication is outstanding. They have a wide breadth of skills beyond just development. Their resources range from backend specialists to highly talented designers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing I would suggest would be to differentiate themselves through from the competition and appeal to a Western audience in their marketing. More people should know about the high-quality services they provide.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the chief executive officer of an idea management platform based in London.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Cubet Techno Labs?

We needed engineering and development of our core platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cubet developed our web and mobile platform, coding it in the Laravel PHP framework. They helped build the early minimum viable product, focusing on the early core infrastructure and core features. We provided full wireframes and UI/UX designs while they handled the frontend and backend coding.

What is the team composition?

There were about five people on the team. I had one main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Cubet Techno Labs?

We found them through an online search. We were looking specifically for Laravel developers.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $150,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April 2015 until September 2017, when we transitioned development in-house.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were very happy with the service they provided.

How did Cubet Techno Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very responsive. It was useful to have a main point of contact that managed the project from the very beginning through to final execution. They work in an agile development methodology, so we had access to the Jira board, wrote tickets, and collaborated on sprints.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be good to have a base in our time zone. Other than that, there isn’t anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give the tightest and most accurate brief that you possibly can. The better the quality of the brief, the better the quality of the outcome. It pays dividends to have a UI/UX designer who can pass very clear designs across to an engineering team. It’s also important to be responsive, since the development team would reciprocate.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

It's matured since I've actually first started working with them. The initial reason why I came to them is because, as a creative studio, we were creating a product that catered for a large, core section of our business. In a nutshell, what we do is we find the most imaginative and creative ways to connect brands to their audiences.

What is your position and responsibilities?

I am the cofounder of the business, and I handle the vast majority of project management for any of the ongoing projects that we have.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Cubet Techno Labs?

The initial product that we went to Cubet with was a social network for the creative industry. Initially, we just needed help with the design work. I commissioned a development company based in the United Kingdom but, unfortunately, things didn't really pan out as we expected with those guys. Since then, Cubet handled the whole project in terms of design, development, and distribution as well.

We're at a point now where we haven't actually got the product up yet, but I think we're about six to seven weeks away before we get into an initial phase of beta. There have been a couple of back and forths in terms of why things haven't been moving as swiftly as we would have liked, but they've been transparent the whole way through, and I can't criticize them in the slightest.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

They primarily used a prototype software called InVision. It has just been sweet in terms of designing the product with them, back and forth with their head designer. In essence, we communicated what we wanted, a certain feature or functionality to do, and they then grasp that in terms of design.

I understand that they're using an innovative technology, Laravel, which is a PHP framework. It seems to be at the forefront of where things are going. Another project they're working on is a mobile application, and they were more than happy to move from the technology they used initially to switch once it comes out. In terms of tech, they're pretty up there.

How did you come to work with Cubet Techno Labs?

It was from an inbound lead but, in essence, I was researching PHP frameworks. My main point of contact there is a guy called Mathews [Abraham, Senior Business Development Associate at Cubet Techno Labs], and it was a blog post that he had written. From that, I dropped them a message on their contact section of the website and, since then, I've always had direct communication with Mathews, who handles the vast majority of new clients. Our communications from there have just been through Skype and WhatsApp.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

So far, I've only paid an initial down payment. For the mobile application, the first sprint is going to be around £12,000 [approximately $18,000]. The scope of the social network is going to be £67,000 [$85,000] for the first sprint.

What is the status of this engagement?

We first got in touch with them in February 2015, and the relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

How did Cubet Techno Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They're cheap, in terms of what they cost. It's very good. Their communication is awesome. They work long hours. Everything is always on brief. It's generally on time. We've had a couple of issues in the past where it would not always be when they say it's going to happen. They're on budget. All in all, I can't complain at all.

What distinguishes Cubet Techno Labs from other providers?

From a relationship that they're able to build with a client such as myself, I think that's very admirable. About four or five months ago, I met the CEO [Lovegin John] when he was in Manchester. I'm only a startup, but it was nice that someone who has a schedule as full as his, had the time to just have a coffee and really get to know me. From a working relationship-building standpoint, Cubet Techno Labs really goes the extra mile.

Is there anything Cubet Techno Labs could have improved or done differently?

The only one thing that I could really criticize them on is probably originality, and I don't mean that in a negative way. I think sometimes in the creative process, they'll get so drawn upon delivering what I'm asking for that they may miss some opportunities. I think that's probably one fair criticism I would have.

Some of the designers are more in that black and white format, but then I recently worked with someone else, and he kind of operates in that gray area where you may get something and say, "OK, I like where this is going. Expand these – elaborate." In terms of just moving forward, the best feedback I could give is just to  invest in design.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

I'm a private detective and I do data recovery. My private detective work is digital only, so I do digital forensics. I investigate computers and phones mostly.

What is your position?

I'm the owner.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Cubet Techno Labs?

One part of my company also offers backup online, and I needed a plug-in to be able to create accounts from my website. I am a reseller for LiveDrive, and I wanted to let customers create accounts themselves, and for that, they had a plug-in. I had some specific wishes, and I asked if they could change the plug-in so it met my requirements, and they did it.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

For me, it's mostly PHP programming.

How did you come to work with Cubet Techno Labs?

I've got a very good understanding with the programmer, and I've been in touch with him during the whole project. Every time I noticed something, I could let him know what I noticed, and then he'd changed it in the way it had to be. It was a great way of working.

What distinguishes Cubet Techno Labs from other providers?

Cubet Techno Labs is very willing to help meet all your expectations about the final product that you want. If you are not satisfied, they won't stop.

Is there anything Cubet Techno Labs could have improved or done differently?

As it is an Indian company, mostly they are a bit slower than Western countries expect them to be. That's something you should be aware of because tomorrow is not always tomorrow. It can also be the day after that or the week after that.
