I’m the city manager for a city government in Texas.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Contract Cre8ive?

We wanted to do a series of television ads to promote the community, attract more residents, and generate more businesses. Our goal was to highlight the different opportunities and entities in the city, including the school, local businesses, and events.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They produced a three-minute video and two 30-second videos to air in neighboring towns. Initially, they collaborated with us to develop a script for the videos. Then, over the next 6–8 months, they gathered ground footage from local events and enterprises in the area. They also used a drone to get some unbelievable shots of our amenities. After producing the videos, they provided some written content and a tagline for us.

How did you come to work with Contract Cre8ive?

They’d previously done some work for our mayor's agricultural company. He recommended them to us, so we cold called them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $14,000–$15,000 for what could have easily been a $30,000 project.

What is the status of this engagement?

Their work lasted from July 2017–February 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We currently don’t have any hard metrics because we show the commercials in other towns rather than our own. However, the community feedback here has been phenomenal. Everybody really likes it, and I can’t say enough good things about the project. Their team is so creative, and we’re amazed that they were able to put this together for us.

How did Contract Cre8ive perform from a project management standpoint?

The process went well and took as long as we had expected. While there were some timing challenges due to weather conditions and scheduling conflicts with local businesses, they generally did a good job of sticking to the program.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated their hands-on approach to the project. They had a photographic eye for getting good shots, and their aesthetic really stood out to me. A big part of that was how enthusiastic they were about their craft. They were committed to coming out early in the morning and staying until late at night to film all of our events. For our big concert, they were even able to capture great behind-the-scenes shots.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be more forthcoming with their costs from the beginning. They quoted a great value for us, but they were so reluctant to say it; we had to pry the number out of them. They’ve got a great product and shouldn’t be shy to charge for it.
