The Chulakov Studio created a website for a global network of pizzerias.
Our task was to create a friendly system where the user can easily place an order, as well as find all necessary information on cashback and promotional offers.
We analyzed the current website, metrics data, and identified several problems. More than half of the users leave as there is simply not enough information on cashback and promotional offers. The main needs are:
- convenient and quick ordering,
- simple interaction with the service at all stages of registration,
- the ability to accumulate bonus points or receive a cashback
We have thought out many scenarios for user interaction with the interface: from basic actions (choosing a pizza) to less significant ones (applying promotional codes). Based on the obtained data, we made prototypes of the site.
On the Main Screen, buyers can immediately find the most popular offers. A convenient anchor menu is used to move between sections. A fixed cart allows you to proceed to checkout from anywhere on the page, and also constantly shows the buyer how many items they have chosen at the moment.
We have added quick tags for pizzas to make assortment navigation easier. For gourmets, a filter by ingredients is provided.
For those who cannot decide what pizza they want to order, there is an opportunity to assemble it from different halves, for example, meat and vegetarian. Clicking on the link "Add ingredients" in the Product card we are taken to the pizza constructor — the user can not only remove and add ingredients up to their taste but also create a pizza from any ingredients, as well as share them between two halves.
We have added a unique feature to split the invoice amount among multiple users. This will make it easier for a group of friends to pay.
All functionality is located on one page: the user can view their status, the status of the bonus account, and available gifts without leaving the page.
The Studio's task was to develop a corporate website consisting of a client application on React.js, a unique admin panel on the Yii Framework, and to integrate the developed services with the internal systems of the bank.
The site is based on the Single-page Application approach with a RESTful backend. Now users don't need to wait for pages to load while navigating the site. What they need to do is to enjoy our fast, adaptive, and convenient interfaces on React regardless of the viewing device.
For the correct indexing of the site in search engines, the Server-side rendering technology of the client-side was used based on Node.js.
We have put together a unique content management system that allows creating new pages from various functional blocks. Also added
- multilingual control component, which also lets you manage content in different languages
- module for automatic city detection by user geolocation
- menu control module.
The latter allows you to dynamically settle the main menu for the client-side of the website, taking into account its language version. You can create completely different structured menus for different languages.
The realized document storage management system lets you roll back to any version of any loaded document into the system at any time, as well as track the life cycle of these files.
The fully modular scalable architecture of the web product gives you the advantage for both the front-end and the back-office to scale horizontally and vertically, thereby optimally balancing and sharing the increasing load.
Website of the Formula-1 Grand Prix round in Azerbaijan, one of the most important events both for the world of motorsport and for the tourism sector of the host country.
Creative concept — full immersion. Drench yourself in an incredible atmosphere of drive and speed, often exceeding the 300 km/h mark. From the first seconds, the user sees a car rushing against the main sights of Baku. Animation creates a dynamic and three-dimensional image.
The user can choose the best tribune, book the nearest hotel, and purchase tickets in the "Buy" section.
The interactive "Circuit Guide" will help those who have already bought tickets to create their own unique program — this section includes useful information about the event infrastructure, the race schedule, entertainment program, as well as useful tips for tourists.
Thanks to the filter by type of zones, users can quickly find the desired tribune or hotel and open the card to see detailed information. In the mobile version of the site, on the map, they can also see the distance from the place where the user is to the selected zone.
Since this section should help not only to prepare for the race but also not to get lost in the activities, we started by creating a mobile version. 95% of users visited this section from mobile devices. We understood that during the race more than half of the traffic would come from smartphones and carefully worked out the mobile version. All site pages and functions are displayed and work correctly on any mobile device.
One of the business objectives of the event and website is to attract tourists to Azerbaijan. We used satellite imagery and a gradient elevation map to create a dizzying 3D map of Azerbaijan and Baku. Users can see how interesting a trip across the country can be.
To implement the technology, we have developed our own solutions that work not only on the desktop but also on the mobile version.
Website of the game apps developer: a place where every user becomes a gamer.
The task for the Studio was to create a website that will feature the games developed by the team of Playkot, as well as know the work process and the atmosphere in the company.
How to tell the user about the games? Just allow them to play.
The site is always full of life. Become a member of the events: build a city, conquer an island, win the battle for peace. For each game, we have created a detailed presentation that shows the process of building characters and worlds.
Interactive elements allow you to look at the characters from all sides, watch the rendering of key scenes, and even blow up something. The animation of the interface helps to build a chronology of events. All elements are collected into a single story in the video that concludes each of the presentations.
The best thing in a company (apart from games, of course) is a team. To find like-minded colleagues, we have collected information about open vacancies and stories about what they believe in and what they value in the section "Working with us".
As a result, the website gained:
- 264% daily traffic
- 268% pages views
- 130% session length
But most importantly, it reflects the progress that Playkot has achieved in the 7 seven years of its existence — it reveals the company philosophy, its best games, and a united team.
By the way, you may never see him, but on a 404 page, every move of your mouse will be followed by a playful animated cat. But from the favicon, he will definitely wink at you.
The Studio created an easy path to new knowledge together with the worldwide university network.
Harbour.Space — is a unique world-class educational institution in the field of technology and design. The project starts from Barcelona, then the university will open branches in St.Petersburg, Malta, and so on. World-class professional practitioners are teaching at the university.
The main idea of the corporate identity lies in the point located inside the logo. It symbolizes endless knowledge gathered in one place. The interactive design developed by the Studio helps to reveal the concept of the brand fully.
All user interaction with the site is built on animated transitions, subordinate to the principle "everything comes from a point."
The functionality of the "Apply" section allows users to upload documents to get into university. The application process is divided into simple and straightforward steps.
After filling out the questionnaire, the data is converted into a single file. The format makes it easy to check all the information before sending it.
All pages of the site were prepared for tablets and phones with full functionality.
For the Sberbank product ecosystem, we developed the SberIndex statistical service with forecasts and statistics on the epidemiological situation associated with COVID-19 and its impact on consumer activity.
After the successful launch of the first version, its potential to provide data that is related to various aspects of the socio-economic life of society became evident. In addition to interactive graphic data, it contains brief informational sections with the ability to filter content and with regional reference.
We also had the following tasks:
- in addition to cardinal interface changes, resolve the issue with validation, import, and preview of data in the form of graphs in the draft mode;
- to make the provided statistical information ranked by types and categories, and the displayed content should become regionally dependent;
- implement quick information blocks, presented in the form of an interactive research line with the descriptions of each of them, so the service will become more informative and useful.
The concept of the entire service is about adaptability to the needs of the user and demonstration of relevant content. Geolocation and visitor-selected search topics display relevant statistics and research on the web service.
It is easier for people to perceive and retain information in a graphic format. Therefore, together with the client, we worked out many types of graphs with different types of display:
- in miniature — for statistics preview;
- detailed version — for more careful study.
For each type of statistics, a dynamic card has been created. This allows users to quickly get the information they need on the main page, saving time on navigating to sections with more detailed information. Users can also download a detailed report in pdf format with initial data.
Following the trends of trading and statistical services, we decided to add a dark theme for the web service.
Not a single holiday at the Studio goes by without pizza. We love it almost as much as we love creating something incredible. And then the stars have met — the global pizza chain Papa John's decided to create a mobile application where ordering pizza is as easy as eating it.
The Studio team had a big task: a full cycle of work, including analytics, design, and application development.
We have become a user — for simplicity at all stages of ordering we have thought over many scenarios of interaction with the interface. It is convenient to choose without hesitation, especially in the application. Therefore, the main page shows the most popular offers and a field for entering a promotional code.
On the same screen, there are quick tags by type of pizza, and for pineapple lovers and other gourmets, we have added a filter by ingredients.
The user can simply add pizza to the basket or change something up to their taste by clicking on the "Add ingredients" button — this is where the fun begins.
Personalization always improves the user experience: the visitor can assemble a pizza from any ingredients and give it a name. For example, add only pepperoni, hot peppers, onions, garlic, and call it “Megatron-3000”. But if friends are not ready for experiments, the pizza can be divided into halves.
For those who cannot decide what pizza they want to order, there is an opportunity to assemble it from different halves, for example, meat and vegetarian.
Cart is located at the bottom of the tab bar. When choosing a pizza, the number of selected positions is displayed — it helps to stop in time or understand that you have ordered just a few.
The most impatient users will be able to watch the estimated delivery time and order status changes in real-time.
Personal space is also comfortable. All functionality is located on one page: the user can view their status, the status of the bonus account, and available gifts without leaving the page.
For one of the largest brokers in the country, BCS company, we have developed an online financial management system for small business. This includes statistics on company income and expenses, data import, a distinction of authority levels, systems integration, and data storage.
In 4 months we have developed and launched the project in test mode. The service has combined 6 external and internal banking financial systems and services. More than 500 unique components have been created for the interface.
It is possible to combine all tools into a single system. For this, we have created the ability to integrate cloud-based accounting and 1C (financial system like SAP Concur) into the bank-client system.
It also contains a directory of contractors and allows users to check their reliability. Now it has become easier to track, analyze, and choose reliable partners.
Employees can create draft payment orders and track payment history, order certificates of reputation, turnover or account statements, receive notifications about the production status, and much more. Received documents can be saved in pdf, Docx formats, sent by e-mail, printed, or import to the financial system.
The Head can independently add users and assign them various rights, depending on their position in the company. For example, an accountant creates and signs a cheque. Then a notification about it appears in the activity stream of the company head. They can sign the documents using SMS and the cheque will be automatically sent to the bank.
When creating a payment, the form automatically fills in many complex fields. To avoid mistakes, the account has the necessary tips, for example, the exceedance of the current balance.
Section with corporate cards gives the director access to track and manage the employees' bank cards. The Head can block or unblock a corporate card at any time, control financial transactions, and set up limits.
Development of a website for two friends, designers, and perfectionists Anton Repponen and Irene Pereira.
Anton and Irene have made UX and design. We have developed front-end and back-end work, with a focus on interface animation.
Anton and Irene have chosen a Readymag service that we have implemented for the ability to add projects to the website quicker and easier. We asked the guys from Readymag to use an additional code for our website containing the additional elements of the interface.
When the pandemic took its reign, our regular customer Tele2 reached out to us with a task to create an ambitious project “House by other rules”, which will help people to get through isolation easily and make the most of it.
The Studio was prepared to create interface design, front- and back-end development, to design a 3D-model of house and rooms as vector graphics and interface elements were not about this story. Tele2 House turned out quite “comfy” and domesticated as it was produced from our homes during isolation.
We immediately launched production and in 3 weeks agreed on the final version.
The house is divided into 8 rooms:
- Hall with tours around the Hermitage. You will be able to see both permanent exhibitions of the museum, and places inaccessible to the public;
- Room with lectures from Arzamas, “Strelka” institute, MAMM (Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow) and “Moscow through the eyes of an engineer”;
- Cinema hall with movies and shows from Wink;
- Gym with workouts from the "Black Comet" club;
- Terrace with offers from partners of the "More" bonus program;
- Garage with jam-sessions and concerts;
- Kitchen and bar with masterclasses from chefs "Gorynych", "Severyan", Noor Electro, and El Copitas;
- Playroom with eSports competitions;
- The swimming pool where you can chat with other house guests.
Cybersportsmen also did not go unnoticed: for mobile games fans, there is a room where you can take part in a tournament with a prize fund, as well as watch interesting streams of games of other participants.
Despite the large pool of works, we delivered the project on time and launched it. Results were fascinating: in the first month, the website was visited by over 800,000 subscribers of various operators from Moscow and the region. Their number is growing every day, and you can also visit Tele2's “House by other Rules”.
Website development for the Swiss tourism mission.
Our task was to develop an online-quest that shows the attraction of Swiss tourism. The interactive tour in the name of a chosen character lasts 6 weeks. The players complete tasks and visit breathtaking places
Each page contains several animated elements, creating the impression of real adventure: forest landscape outside the train window, cloud-drift against the Alps, a ropeway, and many other impressive animations. All animation is created with a great love for small things.
The Studio's specialists have developed and implemented 60 unique task-pages and 12 interactive promo-pages available to the player as they complete the quest.
As the result, the website gained:
- 30000 quest participants
- 764413 people have visited the website
- 10000000 people got to know about the project
Contactless delivery during a pandemic is a must to guarantee the safety of the customer. And our task was to transmit this idea through a creative concept made for DPD.
Banners for social media and billboards for outdoor advertising became the foundation of our concept. The main goal was to create original headlines using wordplay, physical distance themed minimalistic visuals.
Non-standard realization — double billboard, so that message would be clearer and a reminder of social responsibility. In an additional version, we used a courier image so that users could read the message even faster.
The developed solutions are perfectly fitting for social media, keeping the concept, and are not require modifications or changes. The Instagram carousel format allows us to remind in an unusual way of the importance of maintaining a physical distance.
According to the results of A\B-testing of materials among focus groups, advertising materials received high marks for the expected conversion.
The Studio's task was to create a website for a premium concierge service company.
All page elements are animated and appear smoothly as you scroll. Users not only receive information about the company's services but also immerse themselves in the special atmosphere of Essence London.
A blog is the spirit of the company. It equals a glossy magazine in functionality, design, and content. The publishing service allows you to include illustrations, quotes, photo galleries in the text, creating a unique page layout.
Website for the international studio of interactive media.
AIM: Website for the international studio of interactive media
About the project: Sila Sveta is a studio that makes grand light installments and multimedia projects around the world. Oleg Chulakov Studio developed technical solutions that allowed the designers to bring the idea to life.
Idea: Background gradient imitates the changing lights of a projector and immerses people into the atmosphere, which Sila Sveta creates in its projects. Interface design brings out the technological side of the project.
Background: Gradient is a valuable website element. This isn’t a static image: background color is determined by the site administrator, and gradient saturation changes when users scroll the page or switch between sections of the website. Each time the background adjusts to the content, which means the text is always readable.
Compatible: The website is compatible with any device, its functionality, and convenient navigation available regardless of the size of the screen.
Result: The new website reflects the idea of Sila Sveta and offers its clients essential information about the studio and its unique projects.
We were faced with the task of developing a flash game meant to attract new users and retain current ones for a global «Tele2 Extreme Cup» event.
We met up for a thorough team talk on the concept and brainstormed all possible ideas we had. In the end, the one we decided to pick out was just bonkers — the game was built on mechanics that features an adrenaline addict throwing his like-minded friend up into the air for a record-breaking distance.
A great deal of effort was put into the animation of various characters and objects. Just to recreate the lightning strike in its full graphic dignity we had to draw 13 animated sketches. One for each upgrade level and gear item.
Hundreds of background objects were drawn, each with its distinct style. Eventually, we decided to opt for the industrial area background.
A simple and appealing interface always wins the day. We’ve placed a special emphasis on the Store and Rating sections.
