The project assumed the implementation of a modern platform for companies, where they would be able to manage receivables comprehensively and conveniently. It also required integration of this tool with our internal IT systems.

What were your goals for this project?

The aim was to provide our clients with an effective tool to simplify and automate their receivables management processes. The aim was to increase the effectiveness of these activities so that our customers can save time and money. At the same time it was important to provide a system that is easy to use.

An important element was the beginning of the project itself. Together we developed detailed assumptions for the products to be developed. We wanted to transfer the processes carried out so far offline to the Internet. The analytical tools we have worked on so far have been automated.

Together we have created a comprehensive IT system for managing receivables from the category of business intelligence solutions. Blue Paprica has designed and implemented a website rozwaznafirma.pl which allows our customers to use this system in a simple and effective way, significantly increasing their effectiveness in terms of financial receivables control. Blue Paprica has also implemented an internet platform niezaplacone.info for us , which is an exchange on which debt and receivables trading takes place. It is also possible to verify contractors by using that service. Blue Paprica is our long-term partner in creating, developing and maintaining technologically advanced tools.

The team composition was variable and constantly adjusted to the project stage. We worked with a backend team, frontend team, creative department and analyst.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The projects that we have carried out in cooperation with Blue Paprica are an important part of our offer and are willingly and often used by our customers. We have been able to transfer most of our processes online, which has significantly reduced costs.

Projects were conducted in agile methodologies. The work was divided into iterations.

We have been cooperating with Blue Paprica since 2013 on an e-commerce project for Abra Meble. A wide range of work includes system maintenance and development as well as migration from Magento 1 platform to Magento 2.

What were your goals for this project?

Our main goal is to ensure the efficient functioning of the Abra Meble online store and its continuous development. The system we are working on is also sales support, where we are tasked with implementing improvements and automation of processes.

During many years of cooperation, the scope of tasks was very wide, generally including comprehensive development services for the Abra Meble online store.

We have implemented many improvements in the company's internal processes, such as automation of the issuance of accounting documents or integration with the sales system supporting 93 stationary stores of the client. We have also developed a dropshipping order handling system.

These functionalities developed the client's business, made work easier and allowed to eliminate many mistakes, thus saving the company time and money.

Our work often includes developmental implementations that open up new business opportunities. For example, a wardrobe configurator was created for this purpose. The company has its own cars delivering goods to customers. We have implemented a solution that allows to calculate the cost of such transport on the basis of the postal code provided by the customer.

In the maintenance of an online store, it is also necessary to take care of the technology and tools that are not visible at first sight. Recently, a team of Blue

Paprica developers has been responsible for the migration of the system from the no longer supported Magento 1 platform to a newer version - Magento 2, including the transfer of about 9 thousand products. We also implemented a store on the Amazon AWS platform and integrated static files with S3.

What was the team composition?

Direct contact is realized by Project Manager dedicated to our project. He coordinates the work of the team involved, which includes back-end, front-end developers, UI/UX designers and graphic designers. The composition of the team is variable, depending on what we are working on at the moment.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The role of a comprehensive development service that Blue Paprica performs for us is key to the functioning of large e-commerce. Thanks to the activities carried out in this project, not only is the smooth performance of the store ensured, but also the development and implementation of new solutions and process improvements.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Our cooperation is very extensive and requires constant communication. We plan and discuss tasks with the Project Manager via Redmine, e-mail and frequent teleconferences. We receive reports on an ongoing basis. It is very convenient for us that the team itself also contacts third parties involved in the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The great experience of the Blue Paprica team in e-commerce projects and advanced knowledge of Magento configuration are very impressive.

There are situations in which tasks take more time than we assume.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a website for a competition and a series of events dedicated to a network of entrepreneurs from 24 countries. The most important element for us was an extensive application form for the competition that would allow startups from several dozen countries to present their activities and apply for participation in the competition. In addition, we wanted to present extensive individual event programs for each of the organizing countries.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

BluePaprica took part in one of our previously organized hackathon and made great impression with their work.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The project was placed on the Pimcore platform. BluePaprica implemented the solution based on our graphical designs, focusing primarily on the form. Applying for the competition required answering many detailed close- and open-ended questions. We also added the option to attach files. An important aspect was allowing the user to go back to a partially filled form to complete it. This was done by means of automatic email notifications, which contained an individual link to a given form. The form itself was designed to be clear, easy-to-use and error-free. The application forms are processed via the Administrator Panel. The processing has been automated thanks to the possibility to import and export data, send automatic notifications and search for and sort the forms. A robust team handles the forms and completes the content. This has been made possible thanks to the option to create user accounts with specific authorizations for selected elements. The project was carried out on the Pimcore platform, suggested by Blue Paprica.

We worked directly with a project manager and the CEO.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

During and after the implementation, we were able to make changes to the project, and there were no problems with the implementation itself. When unforeseen problems arose, we could count on increased mobilization.

We mainly communicated via Redmine. There we receive and accept pricing, set details and receive task updates. When necessary, we talked by phone.

I was impressed by their emphasis on organized communication.

Sometimes, the instructions for using some functions were incomplete. We had some delays because of that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The e-commerce site was already launched when I was brought onto the project. While I was working with them, Blue Paprica removed all the bugs from the engine, created new plugins, and developed new solutions. They’ve been dealing with Magento 2. They also provided customization work that wasn’t in the original scope. They also created a shipping section for our cart, and a returns and refunds section.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with a project manager and the CEO.

How much have you invested with them?

Customer support fees are about $1,000 per month (approximately $20,000).

What is the status of this engagement?

I’m not sure about the full extent of the project, but I worked with them personally from November 2017–June 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They completed everything we asked them to do. They always try to provide us with a good solution.

How did Blue Paprica perform from a project management standpoint?

I worked with them for a few hours every week. We communicated through Redmine. They would post messages, and we’d respond, I also talked to the project manager on the phone a few times. He was always on-call. If he didn’t pick up the phone, he responded right away.

Unlike other providers I’ve worked with, they always return my call.

Their price is competitive with the market, but it’s always nice if it was a bit cheaper.
