Feedback summary:

Applover’s expert team inspires confidence throughout the project. There are no communication challenges or delays, even with significant time-zone differences. The team’s high-quality deliverables and useful advice set them up for an imminent expansion of their role.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CEO and co-founder of Node Capital, a data science company that brings analytics to the cryptocurrency market.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Applover?

We needed some programs and algorithms coded into a web-based platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The solution is proprietary but focuses on automatic trading and data analysis. Using Ruby on Rails, they created a platform that allows us to use inefficiencies in the cryptocurrency marketplace to produce a profit.

What is the team composition?

We have one main project manager who we go to if there’s ever any problems or concerns. They delegate the work to a lead developer and the rest of the team.

How did you come to work with Applover?

One of my co-founders found them online. We sent them an RFP and they came back with a proposal. We decided to work with them based on their past work, and how well it matched our current needs.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $15,000 to date, but it will end up being closer to $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in February 2018 and we're expanding the scope of work to a new stage.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The solution is very reliable. We work together to implement different features. In terms of functionalities, we can pick out a certain price and they’re able to identify metrics. We initially hired them to do the minimum viable product (MVP). They've done such a good job that we’re going to use them to create the full product.

How did Applover perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re always available for calls even though they’re in Poland and we're five hours behind. They work very late and get up very early. We use GitLab and Slack to communicate, and they do a good job of being responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're very knowledgeable within the space so it’s easy to convey our ideas to them. They catch on quickly, and even provide some improvements to our thinking. With other developers, we tried to give them multiple tasks at once and it diluted the process. Applover likes to get one task done and then move on to the next. They fully complete something, test it, and then move on. They’re an asset in every way.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’ve exceeded our expectations.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As with any project, have a very detailed description of what you want done. Give it to them in increments so you don't flood them with information. Let them know what the priorities are.

Applover Software House adhered to a strict timeline, developing the app according to the desired functionalities. Their collaborative approach and consistent communication allowed them to avoid possible pain points and maintain time efficiency.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the owner of a branding studio called Holy Sheep! We provide services for web and app design.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Applover Software House?

We needed resources to build an app within strict deadlines for a London startup.

What were your goals for this project?

For the past few months, we developed a list of functionalities from our numerous developed mobile apps from other vendors. We needed the Applover Software House team to review the codes and propose optimizations that our client could use to improve his app within his budget.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We contacted a few software agencies but felt the strongest connection to Applover Software House. We valued how immediately they built a relationship with us.

Describe the project in detail.

We’ve worked on the project in biweekly sprints, delivering functionalities based on the aforementioned list. They tested and completed our client’s app within the time estimates. Currently, we’re pursuing other projects with them.

What was the team composition?

The team comprised of a project manager, a backend developer, an iOS developer, and an Android developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They launched the apps on time to our client’s satisfaction, minimizing the number of updates after the testing stage. Since then, the app boasts a few hundred users.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

To complete such a time-sensitive project, we kept a constant feedback loop to foresee any potential problems. The team worked effectively and remained engaged to meet the deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We appreciated their strong work ethic and commitment to finishing the project. When one of the developers couldn’t work for a few days, their CEO took care of the development himself.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Although they successfully delivered the app, one of the developers seemed a bit pessimistic about the timelines and needed us to motivate him. Other than that, we were satisfied with their work.
