We're an exterior contracting company that services Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. I'm the marketing director.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Adhere does all of our SEO strategy. They run our PPC campaign, our website design, and our email marketing. They’ve helped us with Salesforce integration. They manage our social media accounts. They make sure that we’re up-to-date with new releases from HubSpot, Salesforce, and all that.

Beyond that they work on a lot of unique projects with us. One is a proprietary magazine that they created for us, both digitally and for print. We've worked very closely together on a number of different things. We consider Adhere an employee of ours, a part of our team, because of how closely we communicate with them.

What is the team composition?

I have worked with about 4-5 people at Adhere, all in different departments. I also have a dedicated account rep.

How did you come to work with Adhere Creative?

I believe my predecessor had done some research online, located Adhere as one of the top HubSpot partner agencies, and compared them with a number of other companies. Adhere has flown out to meet with us in our office in Virginia a couple of times since I've been here. I imagine that they did that in the beginning as well just to make sure everything was a good fit.

How much have you invested with them?

We currently do about $120,000 a year in investment including our PPC spend.

What is the status of this engagement?

It's close to six years since we started working together. Work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I did a few preliminary numbers on this at the end of our year. Compared to our other top marketing lead force providers, Adhere was the top performer for bringing new leads and new clients on. Last year we had over 1000 leads that came directly from their SEO and PPC efforts. Of that, we've had about 670 new leads and the other third has been referrals and repeat customers. Our conversion rates with them have ranged from 23%, which is amazing, to around 14%, which it is now. We've been very happy with conversions and new leads. I'd say they've done a spectacular job. Again, their the number one provider for our leads right now.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

I communicate with them almost every single day but at least four times a week or so. They're very easy to reach out to. I don't have to just talk to our rep. If I have a question about Salesforce or about graphic design, all members of their team have always been very open. They offer suggestions but don’t push us. They feel like part of our family at this point, where we treat them just like I would any other colleague.

We use Basecamp to make sure that we keep up with different projects. They’re very good about sticking to deadlines. Admittedly we're not the easiest company to work with when it comes to things like that because we have two owners that are incredibly busy. When it comes to scheduling things with the owners, or even sometimes with me, they're incredibly patient. They make sure that it works around our timeline. But they are very good about keeping us on track.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I want to highlight that we were very impressed with them coming down and meeting with us in person several times and continuing to offer to do that. They also set time aside to meet with us at a HubSpot conference that was held in Boston about a year ago. They're very much engaged and they're willing to invest back in us, which makes us feel really good. They don't treat us like another paycheck. They feel like they're part of our team.

I would also highlight their creativity when it comes to unique projects. With the magazine they helped us develop, they have been really great about understanding our brand. It's tough to make something like roofing exciting, sexy, and appealing, but they've managed to do that. We also constantly get a lot of awesome reviews and remarks on our website design and how sleek it looks. People always say that we're like the Google of the roofing industry because of how innovative it's been. A lot of that is to Adhere's credit.

Are there any areas they could improve?

That's a tough question. For me, it’s us wanting to get even more involved and engaged on a yearly basis. I’d do more in-office meetings and go over five-year strategies. Right now, we're more on a year-to-year strategy basis, with a good understanding of where we want that to go. This isn't something that they need to improve on but what I'd like to see our relationship do in the future.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set up weekly calls or even daily calls at a specific time. Give them calls as frequently as you can.

Also, don’t be afraid to mention new or big ideas. They're very good about taking a big idea that I have in my head, that doesn't feel fully formed yet, and giving structure to it. They make it a reality and tell us exactly how to implement it.

We needed more traffic to the site, and we were also creating a new supply-chain optimization page.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Adhere Creative completely designed and created one of our sites. They implemented search engine optimization and AdWords campaigns for it, as well as other marketing strategies for driving traffic. They are also in the process of helping us design, optimize, and market another site.

Adhere Creative has built afflink.com, our company site in the summer of 2016. They handled all its facets, designing, developing and creating its copy. They also help us with our blogs on a monthly basis, handling inbound and outbound marketing for it.

One of our sites was built on WordPress, while the rest used HubSpot. Our next one is being built using nopCommerce.

Our keyword research was a collaborative process. We told Adhere Creative what some of the specifics of our industry were and left it up to them to monitor, adjust, and tweak things along the way. We had a similar process for content creation. They also created designs and pitched us some options. We made adjustments from there.

How did you come to work with Adhere Creative?

Adhere Creative was selected before my time with the company. I have been a part of the contract renewal process. We initially wanted to put a strong focus on SEO, so my supervisor did some research, interviewed several companies, and chose Adhere Creative based on their interactions with him and what they were able to present.

How much have you invested with Adhere Creative?

The cost will vary depending on the project. Our main website was the biggest project we've had, but it was unusual compared to our average spend.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Adhere Creative in September 2015. Since then, we have renewed our contract because of the results provided by Adhere Creative. The collaboration is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

They have increased our traffic and sales as well as provided much more tangible reporting. The design work is much more innovative than what we'd seen in the past. Every year, we have a detailed game-plan meeting, and Adhere Creative has provided some out-of-the-box options that we've valued. We work in a very complex industry, but Adhere Creative has done a good job of getting their hands dirty and understanding all aspects of a project. We have constant collaboration and the monthly reporting gives us quantifiable data for the work.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Adhere Creative provides reporting on a monthly basis, which provides a lot of tangible information for us. We collaborate through a third-party site that allows us to see where we stand for certain projects, including due dates, people involved, and what is still outstanding. Adhere Creative's platform works very well for project management.

What did you find most impressive about Adhere Creative?

We like to change our minds and direction as part of the beauty and makeup of our business. Adhere Creative is great at adjusting to those changes, figuring out where we want to go, and creating all the steps for achieving that. Adhere Creative presents things which we hadn't thought of in order to provide an additional creativity aspect. We don't have the staff to do that ourselves, but Adhere Creative has managed it well.

Are there any areas Adhere Creative could improve?

I wish that Adhere Creative was based closer to us. We're in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and they're in Houston, Texas. We get a chance to visit them at the beginning of the year, and Adhere Creative will attend all our shows. If we were in closer proximity, we could have more interactions in person. In no way does this reflect Adhere Creative's quality of work. It's just preference.

How did you come to work with Adhere Creative?

I selected Adhere from a dozen or so agencies that HubSpot had recommended at the time. I submitted an RFP [request for proposal], and one of the partners at Adhere called me within an hour. That spoke everything about how seriously Adhere took customer service. That was how I decided to go with them as a partner.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

On an annual basis, I spend $50,000 to $200,000 for Adhere's services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We continually tweak my site. Every month, there's something we're doing to it, I work to stay very active in the whole process.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Attribution is always tough because there is much at play. The reality is my site got more than one million unique visitors last year. That's pretty screaming wonderful. HubSpot is certainly part of it, but Adhere really helped to create stronger traction. They understand HubSpot, and they understand my brand.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Adhere is extremely responsive and responsiveness is important. They have always responded within 24 hours and many times within minutes.

What distinguishes Adhere Creative from other providers?

I think the Adhere Creative team is fun. They've accompanied a couple of video shoots with me. We shot video testimonials around the country, and the editing guys that they work with were professional and did a great job. They're also willing to say, "No, I don't think you should do this. Try that." It's a dialogue process with Adhere, and that is something I really appreciate.

Is there anything Adhere Creative could have improved or done differently?

Is there anything bad I could say about these guys? They're expensive. The Adhere Creative team aren't the cheapest guys you can find out there, but if you're looking for high-quality professionals that understand HubSpot these guys are it.

We had done some work with Adhere previously, more as a content partner. That’s how we knew about their inbound services. I looked around a long time ago. We toyed with the idea of going more inbound. In the past, we thought we’d try to implement a strategy by ourselves. Then we realized we needed someone, and having worked with Adhere Creative already and seeing some of their previous clients, it just seemed like a really good fit.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

I don’t have any real metrics yet, but I’m sure we will. In the first week alone, I think we had enough new leads, assuming that they close, even one of them would probably pay back the investment on its own. I don’t have any hard numbers, but we started generating leads the moment the site went live, which was pretty cool.

Adhere is super transparent. They have really strong communication and they are always available. They’re just really smart. They know what they’re doing. It sounds so simple, but I think so many businesses lack an inbound strategy. They’re really intelligent and they offer really valuable services. You get results out of their work, which is cool.
