I was the founder and CEO of Delv Global, a boutique consultancy in the finance sector that helped major investment banks to deliver complex data and cloud projects. We were acquired in January 2021 by Vox Financial Partners, which was in turn acquired by Treliant in August 2021.

We sought to upgrade our digital marketing efforts to benefit further from a new brand and website that we'd launched in 2018. We wanted a mix of strategic advice on what to do and how to do it, actual design and delivery, and execution support with publishing of articles and social media posts.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We had been impressed by their marketing materials and, after an informational call, had them submit a proposal. It aligned well with our original goals, but also pushed us to consider adjustments to scope to better achieve our desired outcomes. Overall, we liked their ability to be strategic but also deliver, as well as their success stories from other clients.

- They initially captured details about our company, competitors, goals, and current marketing efforts, and used that to perform a review and provide a set of recommendations, including key words that were underused in our segment.
- From there we developed a set of key offerings, and prioritized one to be built out as a landing page with its own sales funnel, together with its own case study and additional collateral available for download. The work also included enhancements to our main website to tuck the landing page mini-site thoughtfully into it.
- In parallel the 42DM team established a routine of locating and posting interesting content on data/cloud, while also partnering with us to build out articles that were also posted.
- Another planned strand would have been to develop a Premium Content piece that included insights from multiple C-level executives at major banks, and that would have been used as the centerpiece for multiple marketing efforts, including PPC. When the pandemic hit, however, our assessment and 42DM's was that - until the way forward was clearer - it would not be an appropriate moment for such an initiative, and so this stream was shelved.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
A day-to-day project manager ran point with us on scrum calls, and would be joined on a majority of calls by a senior marketing executive. Other team members worked in the background - a designer, a developer, a social media poster, a copy-writer. Occasionally Kate the CEO would have input too, principally on the more strategic items.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We obtained high engagement on the launch of our landing page, several articles also had high hit rates, and overall our sense is that we elevated our profile as a company in our sector, with multiple C-level and MD-level experts engaging with our content. Since we had paused the PPC stream of the project at the outset of the pandemic, we didn't have the opportunity to get any metrics in that area, and we were acquired relatively soon after so weren't able to resume.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
This was one of the strongest aspects of the partnership. The project manager maintained a detailed project plan, timeline, and budget in a Google spreadsheet, which allowed for ease of communication with other teams, and eliminated bottlenecks. The assigned PMs were conscientious, intelligent, organized, knowledgeable, good communicators, and a pleasure to work with, which made for a good collaboration.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
See above: their well-structured approach to client service and delivery really made a difference. I was also impressed by their holistic understanding of digital marketing that they then channeled into outcome-based delivery i.e. they weren't solely interested in giving us nice graphics.

I shortlisted three agencies and chose 42DM because the exploratory interview was very well-organized and goal-oriented. No small talk.

First, we went through a marketing approach development phase, during which I shared an existing branding scope, information about my business model and about my target audience. The 42DM team used this information to conduct keywords & content field research, market & competitors research, and buyer personas research. Their research was well-organized and insightful, offering actionable advice on how to position my brand.
The next phase involved designing a campaign strategy (which platforms, what the ads would look like, what the content of the ads would be). It also involved an audit of the existing landing page, and, based on their findings, a detailed proposal to redesign the landing page in order to drive traffic to the site.
Other ongoing tasks include - Marketing automation setup for the landing page, marketing email automation flow (letters and chains design), and media campaigns support.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with a dedicated inbound marketer and project manager Diana, who regularly involved other team members whose breadth of expertise were relevant to the task at hand. Diana was intuitive in the sense that, she knew exactly what I was asking (even if I didn't have a well-developed marketing lexicon) and then relaying that question to the team members in a way that they would understand.

I don't have stats yet because I have not yet launched the brand - I have to come up with a second product before I launch, so the ball's in my court, of course. Once I've set a launch date, it will be pretty breezy because of all the research and collateral that's already been designed by 42DM!

Diana the project manager was 100% responsive to my questions and concerns, during scheduled meetings and via email. Very fruitful communication, too – for example, every time I posed a question to Diana, the rest of the team had been informed and promptly adjusted their deliverables accordingly.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was so impressed by how 42DM was able to deliver a fine-tuned strategy deck that accurately reflected my unique business model and the values of my target audience. All team members that I've interacted with are profound listeners.
I was equally impressed by the ads creation because of how every single ad spoke to the values of my target audience. Every single ad also contextualized the product in a "short & sweet" fashion that made its value proposition crystal clear without getting too wordy.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There's really not much room for improvement - the only thing I would ask for is to get to know some of the other team members better so I could leverage their specialties / prior experiences in specific marketing stages (or even prior experiences in specific areas of the globe) in order to maximize the quality and the relevance of deliverables for my own brand.
I think that incorporating some type of "ice-breaker" activity into the first meeting of each phase would help accomplish the above goal.

I own a holding company that owns a number of websites that work around monetizing email data.
We needed an advertising agency that would be able to not only research the areas and demographics that we wanted to approach but also to scale them to the highest level possible.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Their primary role is market research. 42DM does all of the research before we meet and they give me the data. I then give my opinion on what should be targeted, and we test it, look at the results, and make decisions from there.
The team also gives us a list of potential publishers and provides us with updated spend sheets every day, as well as sites that we’re targeting for particular ad campaigns.
What is the team composition?
We work with 6–7 teammates at any given time.
How did you come to work with 42DM?
We initially found them on Upwork and we discovered that they were a sizeable advertising consultancy. We hopped on a call with Kate (Managing Partner & CEO) and a couple of her colleagues, and we were really impressed with what they had to say.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in April 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
42DM has been instrumental in building out the campaign for us. Without their input, we wouldn’t be at the level we’re at right now. We’ve seen constant improvement in return on ad spend (ROAS), reductions in lead costs, and increases in conversion rates. They’ve been very good.
How did 42DM perform from a project management standpoint?
We have a Skype group that we use to communicate. They’re very organized and analytical.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their availability stands out to us. With ad campaigns, things can happen overnight or early in the morning, and 42DM always has someone there if we need to highlight something, or if something needs attention. They’re available 24/7 if we need it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing comes to mind. In any relationship, nothing works right out of the gate, and we wouldn’t expect it to. In that regard, they needed to know how we worked and we needed to know how they worked.
But over the first 3–6 months, we developed a style that worked for both of us. They were very open to our suggestions, and we were very open to their way of working. The team has been diligent in recognizing potential problems and using data to manage them.

I am the marketing and communication manager for Mubashir, a technology provider that creates solutions for retail fuel stations.

We needed a pitch deck and website landing page to showcase at a major industry event. Our team hired 42DM to do the research and build the presentation.

The pitch deck needed to attract business partners and potential investors.

After we agreed on the project scope and details, we had intensive communication calls, emails to transfer our business knowledge to their team. They onboarded a subject matter expert to fast track the project. 42DM drafted content and developed the landing page, which reflected the final pitch deck.

We worked directly with the project manager. There was a larger team working behind the scenes.

The project was a great success because the showcase attracted investors. What’s more, web traffic increased by 40%. Those positives resulted led to new projects with 42DM.

The team was very professional. We had weekly calls to assure clear communication and smooth project management. They thought out-of-the-box.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The team was supportive and service oriented; a dedicated resource for the latter benefited the partnership. Even though the engagement was short, 42DM genuinely cared about our success.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The deliverables could have been set more clearly. Next time, we’ll work to make expectations more transparent.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am a co-founder and the director of Incomlend. We provide invoice finance services on a marketplace basis on a global level.
What challenge were you trying to address with 42DM?
Once we began our company, we engaged 42DM to build our website and devise a digital marketing strategy to attract new client leads.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We entirely relied on 42DM to design and develop our website and implement our logo, images, branding, and color preferences. They have arranged the website so that it is SEO-friendly, and they launched Google keyword campaigns. They incorporated a blog and have written articles for us to post on our site and third-party pages. 42DM also launched our company’s Facebook and LinkedIn accounts and coordinated posts and content on those platforms.
What is the team composition?
Kate (CEO/Co-Founder, 42DM) led our team, which also included a project manager, a PR specialist, a designer, and copywriters.
How did you come to work with 42DM?
Once we started our company, we worked with a marketing agency in Ukraine that I knew from previous jobs to produce two videos. I was satisfied with their work and floated the idea of working together on a website. However, that firm said they didn’t have that specific skill set, but they introduced us to 42DM and assured us that we’d be treated well.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $40,000–$50,000 with 42DM.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together in earnest from 2017–2018. We are not currently working with them, but we are still in contact with their team and look forward to working with them again if necessary.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
42DM created a first-class website for us. Their SEO and digital communications efforts have raised our profile in Google rankings, and we’ve received many qualified leads as a result. 42DM has played a significant role in our success. We couldn’t have done this without them.
How did 42DM perform from a project management standpoint?
Our project manager was always available and responsive when we required them. We received regular updates and held productive meetings through conference calls and Skype.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciated their capacity to thoroughly understand the business and propose solutions that fit our business needs.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I imagine that it’s not easy for digital marketing agencies to dive into a very complex project, but it’s important for us to have a partner with knowledge of financial products. In that regard, 42DM could improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Digital marketing agencies can be a great asset, but they need clear direction on what their clients need. Future clients of theirs must be prepared when entering into the engagement.
