The impact of their work is excellent, increasing the basket conversions and improving the checkout procedures from a two-step process to an effective one-stop option. They are able to view the big picture, managing the project well and ensuring that everything is tracked smoothly.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the managing director at Look Fabulous Forever, an e-commerce beauty brand.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 2buy1click Ltd?

We were unhappy with the developer we were working with. Our site was on a platform called OpenCart and we had lots of technical issues, glitches, and crashes. It was really badly built, and we needed a change.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They suggested we move to Magento and then rebuilt the site on that platform. We’ve since gone through two upgrades and now have a pretty stable website.

We had a design agency produce wireframes for us, outlining what the site should look like. 2buy1click Ltd implemented those wireframes for us, getting involved in the frontend from time to time. They also helped us tweak the design, but their technical ability is in backend development.

What is the team composition?

We have two people who manage the team and interact with around three others.

How did you come to work with 2buy1click Ltd?

We were introduced to them through someone we knew. They were a husband and wife team at the time and we’re a family business as well. They had other clients that were similar to ours, which was reassuring, and we felt that they knew a lot about Magento.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent between $50,000–$199,999.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2015 and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We recently changed the checkout to a one-stage, rather than two-stage version. That improved the conversion rate of baskets and other important metrics.

How did 2buy1click Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re efficient and very open-eyed, with good systems in place to manage clients. The number of hours they work and what they pay per hour is very clear, and they constantly update a Google Sheet outlining their tasks.

We have a weekly meeting with their team, depending on which part of the site we’re talking about. They’ve been extremely responsive and helpful at all times, even responding after hours or on the weekends. They really care about our business.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a good sense of the big picture. As experts in Magento, they keep on top of all the necessary developments, going to conferences to stay up to date. They’re nice people to deal with and are invested in our business, rather than feeling like a remote, external consultancy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I have for them to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It helps if you’re clear about what you need them to do as lack of clarity is hard for them to deal with. The communication needs to be open so they can fully understand 21§what you’re talking about.

Feedback summary:

The user- and mobile-friendly site earned positive feedback. During the engagement, 2buy1click Ltd kept development on track by leveraging strong communication and project management skills. They delivered visually-appealing designs.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the finance manager for a company that builds and supplies car washes. We have a partner that sells the franchise.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 2buy1click Ltd?

Our website was clunky and not user-friendly. We hired 2buy1click Ltd to develop an accessible and mobile-friendly e-commerce website that would enable us to sell car washing materials online.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we held initial scoping meetings and prepared the documentation. Our side provided the content and brand guidelines, but not the wireframes. 2buy1click Ltd then developed a Magento 2 website and imported our existing data from the old site. The team built custom tools for porting and updating, offering suggestions on design and Magento capabilities during that process.

What is the team composition?

We are in regular contact with 4–5 resources including the project manager, a developer, and a graphic designer. There is also a larger team working behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with 2buy1click Ltd?

Our hosting partner recommended 2buy1click Ltd. We got quotes from other vendors, but selected this team because their initial estimate was within our desired range.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around £25,000 ($32,717 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2018. The website is complete, but we have an ongoing maintenance agreement with the vendor.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website is better according to anecdotal evidence. We plan to inspect how it has impacted sales.

How did 2buy1click Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We gave them a shorter timeline because we wanted to launch the site ahead of an annual conference. In turn, 2buy1click Ltd made us accountable to the timeframe, which underscored the collaborative aspect of our partnership. We held Zoom conference calls and used a ticket system and tool to log hours. The hours spent on work aligned with the team’s initial estimates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They had an eye for compelling designs in our industrial sector. The website comes off as more high-end and polished.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We experienced a few communication barriers over the phone.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Look at the team’s other work to gauge the possibilities. Give extensive feedback as well. Otherwise, the samples and prototypes won’t achieve the set objectives.
