Clutch celebrates pride month with recipients of the LGBTQIA certification program!

On June 28, 1969, in Manhattan New York, members of the LGBTQIA community took a stand against oppression. Patrons of the Stonewall Inn and other community gay bars fought back against violent police raids that had become commonplace. The Stonewall Riots, as they came to be known, were the birthplace of the modern gay rights liberation movement. The revolutionary marches that took place are commemorated during pride month every year in June.

The Stonewall Riots were a fight for justice and equality. Clutch is committed to upholding that legacy with our work with LGBTQIA-owned service providers on our site. While the world has come a long way, discrimination against gay, trans, and even queer allied companies remains a persistent roadblock.

Check out our press release highlighting the top LGBTQ+ service providers on our platform.

The Clutch Certification Program seeks to highlight the diversity each service provider brings to the platform. Alongside minority-owned and women-owned certifications, the LGBTQIA-owned certification grants access to Clutch’s free marketing support, which includes blog support, a digital badge, and promotion on our social media.

While just a small gesture in the fight for business equity, Clutch’s Certification Program has shown value to our recipients. To celebrate pride month, we reached out to our LGBTQIA certification recipients to hear their stories on how the program has helped their businesses!

Brian Cairns, CEO of ProStrategix Consulting, shares how the landscape of their industry has changed for LGBTQIA business owners over the past 30 years:

Next, we heard from Lía Cambre, Co-founder of Wasabi Digital who reflected on being among the few lesbian-owned digital strategy agencies in Uruguay:

Christopher Henderson-West, CEO of Henderson-West and Company shared how they’re excited for their industry to become more inclusive of Black and queer business owners:

Finally, Anthony Shopp, Co-founder, and CSO of Social Driver, shared some advice for other LGBTQIA business owners looking to get more involved in their local communities:

Clutch is dedicated to promoting visibility to those who need it most, and we’re proud to raise awareness for LGBTQIA businesses year-round with our Clutch Certification program.
