Yugasa team helped us in post-design development of the app. We evaluated a lot of options on what tech to use. We were keen on Flutter but finally settled on Native.

While we had a project manager in place we worked directly with our developers assigned, given we had tech capability at our end as well.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to make a nice MVP and test out our concept and it really helped us decide how to take on the future launch of the product.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was very smooth. That was one of the key reasons we would recommend Yugasa. Once the team was allocated it was easy to work with them and also bring in designers or others for edits needed was easy to do.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The founders are very hands-on and responsive. Through the time of the project they always made us feel that our project was one that mattered, inspite of it not being a very high value project.

Overall we were very satisfied with what we had set out to do.

Yuniversity is a coaching institute for 8th to 12th standard Science students. We teach Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. I am the principal owner of the institute and I teach Biology classes.

For what projects/services did your company hire Yugasa Software Labs, and what were your goals?

We conducted offline physical classes for students on a regular basis and the moment our business picked up, COVID hit us. With the surge of people adopting online platforms, we also resorted to having one for us. We got a recommendation for Yugasa from one of my friends and we discussed our requirements with them. The goal of the application was a complete learning management system with multiple teachers on the platform uploading their content for students and also scheduling live classes for students.

How did you select Yugasa Software Labs and what were the deciding factors?

I put the requirement for an LMS solution on my college alumni group and someone recommended Yugasa Software Labs with a relevant contact person (Pratyancha) at Yugasa. I contacted them and gave a brief of my requirements. Within a day or two, they responded with the full description of a detailed solution. The deciding factor was the fact that they gave us a SaaS solution with a basic integration cost and a monthly license of the product. This helped us in starting with a minimum investment and deciding to increase our investment with better results of the application.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The project included 3 sections, majorly:

• An interface for students to search for a course, see the details of a course, enroll for a course, and/or attend an online class. 
• An interface for the teacher to upload a course, start a course, manage a course, schedule a live class, and monitor their earnings through the platform.
• An interface for the admin (myself) to approve a course, decide commission on different courses, and manage earnings from the platform.

Team Yugasa started with a demo of admin and teacher modules' features and with our suggestions and they developed these modules fully along with the student interface. The student interface consists of a website and a mobile app. The mobile app was developed in the last phase of the project. The complete application used technologies like JavaScript, PHP, HTML, and Android. There is no iOS app for the product yet.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

One project manager named Dhananjay was in contact with us and the rest of the team consisted of a designer, one tester, one android developer, and two-node js developers. We got updates and demos of the project progress from Dhananjay only.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Although the COVID situation is gradually opening up, parents still prefer online learning for their kids. So, we are still seeing platform usage from almost 80% of our old students. The new student enrollment is all happening on the platform only. So, the platform is supporting us a lot in retaining our students, and hopefully even after things open up fully, we will continue using the platform to teach distant students. We also plan to do google ads for our platform in the near future.

The people from Yugasa were not just coding robots, they came on board as proper consultants. They were able to complete the requirements. Our communication with them was very clear. They communicated with us mostly through email and Google meetings for demos. There is no formal tool for communication though. But that was not needed either. This may be because my product was a standard requirement.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very clear about the product requirements and they kept me informed of the progress. They suggested a cost-effective way of getting the software done. So, I would say that their communication was very good and impressive and that they have very good technical skills.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They can definitely improve on their focus on the education industry. Their portfolio doesn't have a lot of educational institutes.

I am a machine learning professional working as RnD staff Engineer in an MNC.

I hired Yugasa Software Labs for getting an android app developed to make sense out of discussion forums with huge amount of unstructured information in them.

The services included the development of a parser, a small data cleaner engine, an ML engine to churn the data, an android frontend to present the results, testing of the whole system and publishing the app on the playstore.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of this project was to have a handy 'mobile app-based virtual assistant' to help answer questions with contextual understanding asked in a layman format.

SOLUTION

How did you select Yugasa Software Labs?

I searched for AI based mobile app developers in Delhi NCR on Google. Got various forums discussing about AI mobile apps in search results, but only few Software development companies who are actually doing this and writing about this.

Yugasa was in top results and Yugasa's blogs on AI were prominently visible in search results. Contacted them and discussed the requirements with them. Their sales team connected me to one of their AI team members.

He discussed the requirements in details, understood it and showed a virtual assistant product they were already working on. Being from AI background myself, I understood they knew about the AI in natural language domain and I decided to hire them.

Describe the project in detail.

After having the discussion with Yugasa's AI team member, I requested them for a demo of the product they claimed that they were already building on the same lines. The demo was really good and at least they were working somewhat on the same lines of AI in natural language.

Although my requirements were very different and included many other components. Within first 20 days of hiring them, they showed me a working proof of concept. They were able to scrap data from a dummy discussion forum and cluster it in meaniningful categories.

They also created a small virtual assistant with limited knowledge base and delivered it in another 10 days or so. Then making the android app was probably much easier for them.

The complete project was done within expected time lines. Yugasa team also informed me about some pratical problems I could get in productizing the app, but I continued with the project at my own will.

The project was successfully delivered to me with good quality of testing. They published it on the playstore for me and the app was suspended by google because of the reasons I was warned about by Yugasa team.

Overall I was satisfied with the complere role of Yugasa.

What was the team composition?

There was one lady from the sales team who was my first point of contact and she again came into the scene during the final delivery. Other than that, in the technical team there was one AI expert and architect, one android developer, one tester and a designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

My requirement was a complex problem to address involving state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. My biggest relief with Yugasa was that their engineers understood this complexity.

They demonstrated a working proof of concept very quickly. With their past experience, they also told about practical problems with productizing such applications.

Finally, the delivered output was up to my expectations and the goals of the app were exactly met. The app was well tested and was also uploaded on the playstore by Yugasa team as committed by them.

But it was suspended and then taken down by Google because it included data scrapping. I have no grudges about it because I was warned about this outcome by team Yugasa and from their end, all the committed tasks were completed.

The workflow was very smooth and nice. Myself being a technical person, I was understanding all the steps they were following to execute the project. We had zoom and google meets to see the progress of the project.

They were good at improvising and suggesting ideas. They were also good at sharing their past experience and giving heads up for upcoming issues. Overall the communication was very good and smooth.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The best part of team yugasa was the communication and the technical expertise they have. They are working on niche technology in the domain of AI and are very open to communicating where they lag expertise or prior experience.

They sound like your own team.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Their testing for AI process is manual I believe. They can have automated testing in place, but then they will have to accommodate that in the given timelines expected by the client.

I am expecting this from them because I believe that they can do it as they are already doing many things better than their competitors.

App carried features like Our menu offerings, our availability to book an event with us or to look at our gallery section to know more about us. It was to be made on both Android as well as on iOS. Yugasa team designed and developed the whole app as per the proposal which they had submitted initially after understanding our needs. It also carries a small and easy to use Admin section which sends an email to the Sales Manager of our company with the contact details and event details.

They deployed one Designer, one React Native Developer, one Backend Developer and a Tester.

This app became a very handy tool for us to share with our prospects and capture all required, first hand information from them for an event booking. And on top of that, the app places us as a technology driven business in our domain.

I was part of the development team through out. They kept sharing app builds with me for testing and to seek my satisfaction about the work done in every build they shared with me. I was asked about my inputs at every step and the communication with the team was seamless.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to understand the client's business needs is impressive. They then suggested a best-fitting solution. Other good thing about Yugasa is that they do not over sell.

Are there any areas for improvement?

It was little difficult to get an iOS build from them to test. There seemed no easy way to receive the testing build for iOS platform. It will be good, if they can address this point for better client experience.

Our success will completely depend on the prototype we receive. When we show it to investors, they like it. I'm sure we will crack an excellent deal with an investor and develop the complete solution soon.

It's simply excellent. They use one of their own project management tools, which document the development phases and map their progress. Their daily status emails are also a great help. They understand all our requirements and ask many questions about our future plans.

We wanted to a chatbot to be able to answer frequently asked questions about PCIe protocol.

They worked closely with me to get domain knowledge. Yugasa Software Labs then educated me about the types of chatbots available in the industry, and which one was the best fit for my requirements. They explained different machine learning techniques that could be used to create a chatbot. They led several trials in order to showcase the performance of chatbots built using some of those various techniques.

We worked with two engineers plus one lead who guided the process and managed the team.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Chatbots tend to be never-ending projects because bringing any software close to human intelligence for conversing with humans always has room for improvement. However, they completed the chatbot project in just six weeks. I’m satisfied with the chatbot delivered by Yugasa Software Labs. It covers almost all the questions I can think of for my protocol. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Shobhit (Technology Head, Yugasa Software Labs) worked closely with me to gather domain knowledge and feed it to the chatbot for training. The whole team seemed as excited about the project as I was. Due to their close collaboration, the final knowledge transfer and handover was quite easy.

The absolute professionalism of the entire Yugasa Software Labs team really set them apart.

If possible, they should have at least one person available to respond to clients over the weekend.

 Yugasa Software Labs hasn’t delivered the project as per our agreement. When I contracted them, they were very polite. However, they then became very rude. I've taken this to court.

Their project management is nonexistent. We communicated via WhatsApp. The project was a waste of time and money.

I am a supply chain consultant with extensive thirty years of industry experience in various positions of repute with different organizations. Currently, I am positioned as VP at one of the leading logistics companies, SILPL, for taking care of their complete sales and operations management.

For what projects/services did your company hire Yugasa Software Labs, and what were your goals?

We work very aggressively in Freight Management through surface and air for last-mile delivery and are also actively working in Storage and Distribution through our warehousing pan India. Damage controlling inventory during storage is a big challenge in front of the industry as of now.

Automation in monitoring the stored assets and raising the alarm at the time of the need is what we needed. We needed an IoT solution with continuous monitoring of the warehouses through cameras and various sensors and sharing the updated recordings over mobile tablets for human agents with various access to the system as per their job roles. We hired Yugasa to build a custom solution for us around our this requirement

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

It was difficult to believe in an unknown vendor for such a visionary product. A bad experience could not only face us financial loss but would have also caused time delays.

Hence we decided to find a potential vendor through a reliable reference. One of our very trustworthy contacts referred Yugasa with full confidence. The strong recommendation from a dependable connect, their ability to understand our requirements, and their experience in IoT made us believe in them.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We met team Yugasa and narrated to them what we needed. They drafted two pager requirement specs for us to review and check if they were marching in the right direction. We could sense zeal and strong conviction in them, and our first engagement started with them on a paid basis for creating documentation for our product.

This ran for almost a month when we had a detailed spec. With a small investment, we understood our requirements better and could finally discover a confident vendor who knew our needs best. The project was started. We provided team Yugasa with the devices and hardware we planned to use. These include humidity sensors, Temperature sensors, various gas-released sensors, 3D view cameras, vibration sensors, and a few more.

The software solution was to monitor these parameters of various warehouses, manage different locations, keep track of previous readings, and show all these details to intended users across the team and our customers. The product used Kotlin and SWIFT for tablet apps, NodeJS in the backend, Image Recognition technique for rodents and insects detection through high-resolution cameras, and IoT.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Its a large team of around 10 - 12 members working on the project. These include designers, developers, junior software engineers, QA and Project managers, and an IT Admin expert.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are happy with the application. It is continuing to be building more. New feature implementation on regular basis and Yugasa’s assistance in implementing the application at newer sites are keeping confident and encouraging. They are more like our technology vertical.

Implementing automation at every new site is helping us prevent wastage by up to 25%. With such automation, our customers have shown more confidence in our service thus increasing our revenue collection by up to 10% from our existing and new clients.

They are very much responsive and responsible. I am happy with their practice of promptly acknowledging our communique to them and acting productively within the shared TAT. We often communicate over email, and I am good with such practice. That saves all communication gaps, and all the stakeholders remain informed about all updates.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their acumen in understanding the requirements and determination to find a solution at every project stage. Making a product for our requirements was not easy and was highly challenging. But they never took a back step at any stage. They continued to perform till we achieved the best results.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing much except that they should keep themselves open for travel. Serving an industry like ours where IT implementation with hardware integration at multiple locations is involved, their physical presence during such instances can add immense value to the results.
