We needed someone to develop our iOS mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WorksDelight developed our iOS app which is a podcast discovery app. It’s an app that allows users to listen to podcasts. One of the key focus areas is helping them find new podcasts.

We had one developer working with us and one project manager.

How did you come to work with WorksDelight?

I found them through Upwork. They were the only ones that fit into our budget and had the experience we were looking for. Their team had built a previous podcast player as well.

We invested between $10,000–$49,999.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September 2018–August 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The key measurable for us was the quality of what the product was. Our team measured that in performance and bugs. The app works reliably and fast. We’re very happy with the overall work. We wouldn’t have worked with them for over two years otherwise.

How did WorksDelight perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was really good. As time went on, the communication and relationship got better and better. There’s always been clear communication. They were flexible with any requests we had. It was a good experience. We communicated through Slack and weekly calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re an affordable, high-quality agency that helps to achieve whatever goal we have.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they were great to us.

Start small and see how you think about how they operate. Give them a chance.

I'm the owner of Stat Tracking App, an app that allows users to track the scores and stats of children's Little League games.

What challenge were you trying to address with WorksDelight?

We reached out to WorksDelight to design and develop our mobile app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

WorksDelight designed and developed a website and mobile app from scratch for iOS and Android, allowing users to follow children's stats and scores across 12 different sports. Users can comment and “high five” posts, similar to features in other social media platforms. 

What is the team composition? 

We work with two main people on their team.

How did you come to work with WorksDelight?

I reached out to a couple of different firms, but WorksDelight seemed to offer the best value. They were also the only firm that offered to go over our needs over the phone, working around our time zone differences. 

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested about $12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working with them since May 2018, launching the app around December. They continue to provide ongoing maintenance and development as needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've received a lot of positive feedback so far from users and engagement continues to rise. People seem to get a lot of joy and value from using the app. It also allows family members to get more involved when they're unable to attend events. 

How did WorksDelight perform from a project management standpoint?

They provide a lot of valuable input and have been transparent throughout the process. They also created a beta platform for us to test out before releasing the final version, allowing us to provide feedback and make changes. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're very communicative and speak English very well. Despite their location, we haven't experienced any scheduling or communication barriers. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not in my experience.

I am the founder and CEO of a crowdsourced personal photography application.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with WorksDelight?

I engaged with WorksDelight for the Android development of my application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I started this project with a freelance developer, but that didn’t work out. WorksDelight was willing to work with the existing code and design structure I retained from the freelancer. They used that as a general framework and worked to advance the functionality from there.

The application is made for Android and allows users to crowdsource the taking of photos. Photographers can make a small amount of money by taking photos of people who require professional-level quality photos while traveling, for example. The app shares an encryption key to the user that allows them to access the photos from the photographer’s phone and then pay a fee for the photographer’s service.

What is the team composition?

I work with the CEO, a project manager, and a rotating team of three or four developers.

How did you come to work with WorksDelight?

Once I decided to move on from the freelancer, I researched and compared firms based on their hourly prices and their previous app development experience. I leveraged online reviews and examinations of their work in the app stores.

How much have you invested with them?

I have budgeted for about $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began in May 2018 and remains ongoing. The bulk of the development is completed, but I also plan on an iOS version in the future. A complementary website is also unfinished.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Beta testers are currently using the application. There is still much to finalize, but I have been encouraged with WorksDelight’s progress. I’m continually impressed by what they’ve pulled together.

How did WorksDelight perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s a testament to their professionalism that the CEO is working closely with my project. The project manager has been prompt in all manners. Our time zone differences haven’t presented many issues, and their team is always very responsive. Their documentation is sufficient and allows me to keep records and track their tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There is a level of honesty with them that I continue to be impressed by. They’re very transparent in how they operate. That’s an admirable aspect, and it’s one of the reasons I decided to continue working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Our communication through Skype is somewhat scattered to the point that I am sometimes unsure of which developer I’m speaking with or where my place in the conversation is.

We needed an Emoji mobile app for iOS and Android platform for one of our clients.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to develop an Emoji app for our client, who is associated with the food industry.

After reading reviews on Clutch, we interviewed several companies. WorksDelight stood out to us by offering excellent support and comprehensive solutions to our challenges.

Describe the project in detail.

WorksDelight developed an app through which users can integrate third-party emoji stickers into their iOS and Android messaging keyboard. Users can then send emojis to their family and friends.

I was in direct contact with a senior developer and a project manager. They both were very supportive.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Thanks to the WorksDelight's efforts, the application is running very smoothly, and we are very happy with the work.

The workflow between our two teams was extremely productive.

I was most impressed with WorksDelight’s ability to adapt to new information.
