We approached a lot of companies and assessed them based on their work ethic and ability to accommodate time zone differences. During my search, a friend suggested that I use Wildnet. I researched their accounts and found a very clear and engaging operation. We decided to move forward with them.

We are the largest private bank in Latin America, and we do private as well as investment banking. We deal with Latin American clients to facilitate their investment needs in the U.S. and outside of Brazil. We have offices in New York, Miami, the Bahamas, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Kuman Island, Uruguay, Paraguay, and most Latin American countries. We are headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I’m the senior IT project manager.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wildnet?

We needed help building a ticketing system to promote our brand for an event in Miami.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first project was a ticket management system for the event in Miami for which we were the main sponsor. They helped us build our platform for our clients with the purpose of building up our brand in the U.S., and specifically at this event. Wildnet helped build the .NET-based platform where we managed our tickets for the managers, relationship managers, regional managers, and clients. The product includes ticketing, scheduling, printing, and scanning features.

They created multiple design and solution options, and we chose one of them. Based on that decision, we finalized the solution, and then they went through with a comprehensive design. We’ve been using that service for the past 3 years, and this will be our fourth year. Every year we do small enhancements if they’re required, but this year, there weren’t any. The system is working perfectly.

How did you come to work with Wildnet?

I was aware of them from when I worked in India 10–15 years ago, and I knew they did good work. I introduced them to the bank, and they had a sales pitch with us. We liked them, so we introduced them to our marketing department, and thus began our engagement.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We used to manage our relationship manager, regional manager, and officers from Brazil, and they were all involved in the product. They gave us really good feedback and told us the product worked perfectly. They had no complaints about any of the features. The internal department in Miami also gave us positive feedback.

There shouldn’t be any duplications in the workflow, and Wildnet managed to create a system that doesn’t cause breaks. They also gave us great support during the actual implementation. If something went wrong, they took responsibility for it and found a solution.

The KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) were the external and internal client communication and process flow. If someone goes to the event and they scan their ticket, we already know that person has entered. The system should perform this action in a certain number of seconds or minutes, and it should never lag. These kinds of KPIs were present, so the entire project is viewed as a success.

How did Wildnet perform from a project management standpoint?

I really liked the way they handled project development and execution. Their ethics and professionalism were impressive, as well as their business standards. They understand what they’re doing, and we have no complaints with any aspect of their involvement.

We had weekly scheduled calls with them. Once we had products in migration, we involved our in-house developers so they could assist with the code, then they helped start the application on our servers. Wildnet was very good at supporting us throughout all aspects of development and production.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their work ethic and dedication make for a perfect combination in the IT environment. There are very few companies that know what they’re doing, and these companies also don’t have the energy. Wildnet’s team is ready to help, which makes them stand apart.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When we initially started working with them, we had a small discussion with them regarding the quality and testing of their deliverables. They improved on this a lot already in the past 3 years. Right now, my only advice is to keep up the good work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We were the first financial services client for them. They have a lot of potential in the U.S. for similar clients who are looking for services with respect to workflows, internet banking, or mobile banking.

We were really struggling with some of our projects—a website for a private healthcare company, and one for a historical site, for example—and Wildnet helped us come unstuck on those and on a number of other occasions.

We needed to come up with a mobile app and website for engaging customers using retail analytics. We decided to get in touch with Wildnet.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We knew exactly what we wanted, and discussed the ideas regarding the mobile app and various other possibilities we had in mind with Wildnet. They understood what we needed and helped us from the design stage till the delivery of the actual product. We modified the product over a period of time, as our needs changed.

The app was developed cross-platform for iOS and Android. Wildnet helped us create the web version as well, and we launched all three at the same time. We have SQL on the backend, and appropriate platforms for iOS, Android mobile application development and web platform on the frontend.

The app helps customers analyze promotions. It provides information on user behavior and helps us collect analytics data around how they interact with different offers from retailers in the Middle East. The app also helps us benchmark the performance of different retailers, manufacturers, and distributors so that they can optimize promotions and have market intelligence around what is happening at any point in time.

Their team consisted of about 7-10 people, depending on the need. The designers, account managers, and iOS developers were required at different points in time.

How did you come to work with Wildnet?

We analyzed around five companies before shortlisting Wildnet, visiting different offices and interacting with each candidate. We evaluated them technically, as well as in terms of leadership. Once we were completely satisfied, we decided to work with Wildnet.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have accumulated around 500,000 downloads, have a 4.7-star rating on Android, and a similar one on iOS. From this perspective, we seem to be pretty good. We are in the top 5% or higher, as far as ratings go.

The user experience has been good, and we haven’t heard anything negative. 

How did Wildnet perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re collaborative and have helped us with ideas. Wildnet is willing to listen to what we have to say and be accommodative. Technically, the senior people are very good and have remained involved. They’re a good partner.

We communicate via email, phone, and Skype. We use Basecamp, share code over Visual Studio, and have worked over conference calls, either GoToMeeting or different platforms. We do have quite a bit of engagement, almost on a daily basis.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They listen, are accommodative, the senior management is accessible, and they’re willing to experiment. These four standpoints have made the partnership work well. Wildnet didn’t simply thrust something upon us, which we needed to accept—it’s a partnership, rather than a vendor relationship.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Wildnet has evolved over a period of time. When we started working together, they were a little disorganized, but they’ve gone on a hiring spree, and put multiple senior people in place, all of them qualified. Wildnet has improved tremendously, and we’ve seen a huge change, especially in the last six to eight months.

I am a managing partner of PowerliftingWatch.com. We’re a U.S.-based company that provides valuable information about deadlifting, lift rankings, and all other weightlifting and powerlifting news.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wildnet Technologies?

We were facing several issues on our existing website, which had been made by a different developer in Drupal 4.6 but wasn’t up to current industry standards. It wasn’t user-friendly, and the backend was very difficult to operate. Since we’re operating in a highly dynamic sector, we needed an interactive, updated website to provide meaningful information to our audience. I handle content entries myself, but I needed a good company to manage the technical issues.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wildnet helped us through many layers of work. They updated the website to Drupal 7 and will update it further to Drupal 7.8. They’re currently working on some backend items in order to standardize the database. The site’s not efficient currently, and we’re planning to add a ton more data, which would make the site run slowly if we followed the same processes that we have in place now.

They also completely changed our user interface [UI]. At first, I bought a theme for the new website and tried to work on it myself for about a year. Wildnet Technologies helped me update this theme and write a custom CSS for certain functionalities. It wasn’t designed to have banners between content, and the mobile part didn’t work properly. Now, we also have a ranking system where users can check their rankings based on contest results.

I had a good handle on the old system and was actually going to write a new page for it, but Wildnet advised me that our site couldn’t run fast enough to do what I wanted with the database. So, they’re bringing it up to standard. Now, I can grab Instagram and Facebook videos and embed them automatically on the website, just by clicking a URL.

What is the team dynamic?

I prefer communicating by email in order to provide clear and concise instructions. I can send them screenshots of what I’m looking for or what isn’t working, which tends to work best. I’m a visual person, so I’ve also asked them to send me pictures and diagrams explaining concepts. They explain everything in simpler terms for me. I have a general idea of how things work but don’t understand the specifics.

Wildnet explains their ideas and approaches. Some things haven’t worked, but I understand that’s a part of our exploratory process. I’ve been open to trying things since the theme was designed for a specific purpose, and I wanted it to do something else.

Deepika [Digital Marketing Manager Consultant, Wildnet Technologies] has been great. The presentation was clever, and I’m very interested to see how she handles the database work. They’re based in India, so there’s a time difference, but they’ve been great in terms of communication. The other team members’ accents are sometimes so pronounced that Skype calls become difficult. They’ve offered to host conference calls, but I don’t have a lot of time for that.

How did you come to work with Wildnet Technologies?

Our old developer recommended that I find a development company instead, so I started searching on Google. American vendors were too expensive, and I thought I could get a better price. I found Wildnet, and they met my expectations. I took a chance, and our relationship developed from there.

We started working with Wildnet in March 2017 and plan to have an ongoing relationship with them for multiple years. I can’t say that the work will ever be finished since they will be responsible for Drupal updates when needed. The site is live, and I’ve been adding content. I'm excited to see what other directions we can take and how far we can go with the site.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Before Wildnet updated the website, my site was on the first page of Google results. That was without any SEO—just based on the content and offering an exclusive service in the powerlifting industry. Recently, we’ve struggled to get back to the first page since there’s more competition, and people don’t like design changes. But, the other day, when I checked, the site was back on the first page.

Compared to the old website, in terms of how it worked and how it was positioned, the new design is definitely an improvement. The new site works on mobile and fits Google’s responsiveness criteria. We’ve struggled to keep the site on the first page, but that’s all content-driven, which has nothing to do with Wildnet and everything to do with me. I was originally going to pay for SEO, but I honestly think I don’t need it. I’ve proven to myself that I can get to the first page of Google, so I’ll keep doing what I’m doing.

I tried SEO companies from the U.S. that I thought would be reputable and found that they were outsourcing the work and the price was too high for the quality of their work. The main result is that our rankings on Google have improved a lot. We are in the top 10 results for more than 10 terms related to our products. Prior to working with Wildnet, that was only the case for one term. That is something that we are still improving, so our online visibility keeps growing.

Wildnet's project management is very good. The only issue is that we use different cloud storage systems, which can be a bit of a headache.

The quality of their work is great, too. Sometimes, the content can be a bit off and does not match our target demographic perfectly. We sell very niche products, which makes it difficult to attract a larger demographic.
