The scope of work has grown over time, but the core deliverables included: full app development for iOS and Android, backend architecture, custom UI/UX design, prototyping, and feature iterations based on user feedback. Beyond the build itself, they also helped us with website design, landing page optimization, and a number of growth-related tools. Most recently, we worked with them on infrastructure updates to support rapid scaling, and their team also supported us in pushing out new features like local feeds, random pairing, and content restrictions tied to in-app camera use. The entire daylyy experience is a result of that collaboration!

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The most obvious proof of success is that we have a live app used by tens of thousands of people, and we were able to go from zero to launch much faster than most startups. Our speed to market was insanely quick. Within months, we had a working MVP. Within weeks of our public launch, all user data was migrated, and we had thousands of new downloads and real user engagement. The way they helped us ship features quickly, without sacrificing stability, made a huge difference. Beyond launch, our ability to iterate quickly and retain users has been directly tied to the flexibility of the systems White Hall built for us. Even when we rolled out major pivots like the “local feed” or “Spin the Wheel,” we never felt boxed in technically.

White Hall operates with a founder’s mindset. Their team was in constant communication with us Cliq, email, calls, whatever we needed. They didn’t just take our specs and build, they questioned things, suggested improvements, and flagged risks early. If something was going to affect delivery, they told us upfront. If we had an urgent ask, they found a way to get it done. Timelines were always transparent. We met multiple times a week, and if something came up last minute (as it often does in startups), they were responsive and fast. It genuinely felt like we had an in-house tech team!

The most impressive part about White Hall is that they actually care about what you're building. A lot of firms will code what you give them and move on. White Hall challenged that. They’d ask: “Why are you building this feature?” or “Are you sure this is the fastest way to reach product-market fit?” That kind of pushback made our product better. Also, they understood the emotional stakes of building something like daylyy, we weren’t just making an app but rather trying to rebuild how people connect online. They got that! And they show up like partners who are in it with us.
Are there any areas for improvement or something White Hall Technologies could have done differently?
There were a couple of moments early on where we realized we needed to define our non-negotiables more clearly from the jump, things like how strict we wanted to be about in-app camera use. To be fair, White Hall was great at executing whatever we aligned on, but those early product philosophy decisions required some back and forth until we found our rhythm. It wasn’t really a flaw just a reminder that the more clearly we communicated our vision, the more effective they were. Once that alignment clicked, everything moved forward seamlessly!

Our inital scope of work included 3 key deliverables. First, we aimed to improve our website and its Google search ranking. A majority of our customers come from word of mouth of a simple google search so we needed to really stand out. Our mission for search rankings was to populate on the first page & top of the page. Secondly, we are building an enterprise app for our customers and marina management. As a customer, this app houses all of the critical information like slip location, travel dates, facility codes, announcements, and more. Finally, we are developing a digital marketing strategy to further our online presence on social media. Utilizing images and information we already have, we are assembling a digital marketing plan for the next spring season - honing in on our voice, look, and feel.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Progress was demonstrated through weekly calls and meetings. Each week, we meet at least twice to discuss progress and updates. Regular meetings ensure progress and allow valuable discussions to occur. We leave the meeting with action items and upon the next meeting, we discuss those specifc items - this kept the momentum of our team and the outcome is success as our direct conversations create the exact outcome we are expecting and discussing.

Communication is imperative to their team. Items were always delivered on time and as expected. Through regular communication, they eliminated any unexpected outcomes. I was most impressed by how I was treated at White Hall. It wasn't just extreme customer service that made this team so incredible but it is their ability to act as a true partner during the development process. Nothing about this experience felt transactional, but rather like they took an interest and cared about our company. Austin, Bret, Avi took a great amount of time to understand SAYC so they could refine what we wanted to create. We actually scaled back the project twice - their recommendation isn't to overspend or overbuild, but rather build what is necessary then add when seeing success or feedback.
Are there any areas for improvement or something White Hall Technologies could have done differently?
If anything, I'd say the only challenge was keeping up with how fast their team moves. White Hall is extremely proactive and responsive, which is amazing, but at times we had to make sure we were fully ready on our end to keep pace. It’s a good problem to have, and speaks to how seriously they take timelines and delivery.
