We’re a travel agency in Korea; we sell travel packages from Korea to Vietnam, Japan, and other countries.

What challenge were you trying to address with Waterbe Marketing?

We wanted to reach out to people and increase our website traffic. Our project and primary business model focused on Naver, the Korean search engine. We wanted to hire an agency that knew well about this local platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Waterbe Marketing has done marketing campaigns on Naver. They’ve worked on SEO, SEM, and PPC. They’ve also managed our channel on Naver and written articles about our packages and travel information.

What is the team composition?

We mainly work with the general manager; we communicate with her. They’ve also created a team with a copywriter, a designer, and a marketing expert for our project.

How did you come to work with Waterbe Marketing?

We found them through an online search. We were looking to work with someone in a different country because we’re a travel agency with agents all over the world.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay about $5,000 per month, so we’ve spent less than $30,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the campaign in March 2022, and our relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our website traffic has increased, but we were also looking forward to activating and getting more traffic through our blog channel. When we started, we had less than 100 people coming to our channel per month. After six months, we get between 800–1,000 visits every month.

How did Waterbe Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management has been good. They’re well aware of the platform, and we haven’t faced any particular issues or delays.

They use Google Docs to upload and share content. We connect with them once a week through Google Meet and via a chat app; if we have something urgent, we can just text them. Also, we have a monthly meeting to see the official report.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Waterbe Marketing works with us in English and Korean, which isn’t usual in Korea. We’ve been comfortable with that, and they have experience with Naver, which is a niche market.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think so. We're pleased with their services.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We chose this company based on their experience in many different fields and great communication skills. Also since we were finding an agency which is specialized in Korean market, we thought Waterbe was the right one.

We have found other agencies at the first phase but most of them wasn't able to speak English fluently and for some agencies that can speak English proposed us very high service fees. We needed someone to communicate in English on daily basis since we were a global brand and my team wan't able to speak Korean.

We first asked them about the Korean market and planned which channel and what kind of campaigns we should go for. They helped us planning the strategies for each channel and allocating the budget. After setting the budget and campaign period, we proceeded the campaigns based on the planned schedule.

We worked with a project manager, designer, SEO expert, copywriter and influencer manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The facebook and instagram Ads were quite successful (3-4% CTR) and the sales revenue has started to show after 2-3month of SNS channel management and the page visitors have increased from 0 to over 2000 per day.

We were able to increase the brand awareness especially after collaborating with Korean Youtubers and it is positive that we are seeing the revenue every month. Since it is our first time penetrating to Korean market, we are satisfied with the monthly results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had zoom meetings one in a week if we needed, and communicated with the project manager via whatsapp too. Communication was one of the most satisfying part with this agency.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They're a one-stop agency for the Korean market so we basically can ask them any services related to digital marketing. It was impressive that they have their own content creation team so there is no need for us to hire another company.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They could have used more channels but since we had a limited budget, I guess their plan to focus on specific channels was the right decision.

I'm a marketing manager in Korean F&B distribution company. Our company mostly import products from foreign companies and distribute to korean domestic market.

Since covid situation occurred, we had to change the marketing channels from offline to 100% online. We had to promote the new products through online social media channels and execute advertisement campaigns. We hired Waterbe agency for integrated marketing services. ( consultation, channel management, paid ad, influencer marketing, video production)

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We first searched online and had few other candidates, but these are the main reason why we chose them.

• English speaking ( Since we are working with foreign brands)
• Influencer Pool ( They have their own influencer pool so it was much easier and faster to proceed with the project)
• Consultation ( Most of the companies I found here just provided the us price and number of projects without deep consideration about our brand, but I needed a suggestion of specific ideas and campaign concepts when proceeding the project)
• Video production team (Since they have their own content production team and designer, it was easy for us to handle the project while communicating with a single company that knows our business)

• Influencer marketing (Instagram Live, video production, Instagram posting, Naver blog posting) Starting from 2020, we have done campaigns by each season and we are currently working with them since now.

We mostly communicated with the project manager, but worked with video production team of 5 people, one designer, three channel managers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

One of our Instagram ads CTR showed over 3% and we were able to increase our brand awareness to out target customers. Also, by planning an online to offline marketing campaigns, we were able to engage people to visit our stores and increase our revenue up to 24%.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had in person meetings per week or twice in a month if we needed and communicated daily basis through Kakao chat. Also, by sharing files and workflows through google, we were able to communicate without any delays.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are considerate, flexible, and responsive. Whenever we launch a new product, we ask Waterbe for marketing projects.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Since now, I am mostly satisfied with their service.
