BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the marketing manager at a parent company that manufactures zero-turn mowers, utility terrain vehicles (UTVs), neighborhood vehicles, and other products.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with VisionAmp Web Design?
We needed help with our marketing and website development efforts.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
VisionAmp has handled so many aspects of our marketing. Over the years, they have assisted us with intense problem-solving. They have built the website for our parent company and subsidiaries from scratch. At the time, we thought it would be mostly an outward-facing platform from where we would engage the public and build our brand. However, it has grown since.
As a manufacturer, our company has a dealer network that sells our products. These dealers need backend access to our website to upload and download different tools to help their sales efforts.
VisionAmp has handled so many areas of opportunity for us, and they helped us with various communication challenges with our dealers. They have assisted in gathering information from and giving information to our dealers, as well as collecting and processing information from end users.
During the start of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, many of our dealers had to shut their doors or minimize their walk-in traffic because of the restrictions in their area. With our target market at home with their computers, we thought of ways to attract them to our website and eventually to our dealer network.
VisionAmp came up with a lead generator system. We designed a quiz, and it popped up on our website. The quiz asked the user a couple of questions, such as what kind of terrain they had, how big their yard was, and what type of mowing they do. From their answers, the system provides three potential mowers that would best suit their needs — a good, better, and best option.
Additionally, the system captured that user's information and that information would be sent directly to our territory sales manager. The territory sales manager would have the option of sending that lead to nearby dealers. The system also allowed the sales manager to see a dealership's inventory.
VisionAmp also handled all of our graphics and design. They created, designed, and laid out advertising materials like banners and product catalogs.
What is the team composition?
We primarily work with Greg (CEO & Owner), who does all the coding. Susannah (COO & Project Manager) does an amazing job at project management. We also work with Tyler (Graphic Designer), who is our go-to creative collaborator.
How did you come to work with VisionAmp Web Design?
We are a local Arkansas company, and we want to use other Arkansas agencies. Our marketing team did some research and found VisionAmp, who was within an hour away from us. Our team looked at VisionAmp’s work and loved the look and design of their website. Because of that, our team reached out to them, and the rest is history.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent around $200,000–$1,000,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our company has been working with VisionAmp before I got on board. However, I believe the engagement began around January 2015.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our website has consistently grown, and its traffic has increased year after year. Because of the lead generation system VisionAmp developed, we have generated thousands of leads and sales that we would not normally have during the pandemic. In fact, the lead generator was such a success that we've continued using it because of how easy it works and produces results.
In addition, we have consistently maintained an above-average time that people spend on our website. It's because of VisionAmp's graphics, approach in grabbing our audience's attention, and way of engaging with site visitors.
Over the years, they have helped us build our company into a national and even worldwide brand. We're still young, but the data and statistics show that our brand is getting out there, and we are becoming more well known. It's really because of VisionAmp and their help launching us into the market.
How did VisionAmp Web Design perform from a project management standpoint?
The way VisionAmp does business is so easy, and they are accessible. Additionally, they aren’t so big that we are just a number to them. In fact, they are personable enough that they make the effort to come to us once a week to sit down and go through all of our projects. We feel like we're a major priority to them.
We can text them at any time on their cell phone if an error shows up on our website, and they get back to us. Whatever our issue may be, they immediately try to brainstorm ways in which they can help us. We also appreciate that they have maintained the same staff through the years.
VisionAmp has done such a tremendous job for us, and they are super humble. They even offer to help us with things that might not normally be in their wheelhouse. For example, during our dealer meetings, they are right there with us every step of the way, ensuring we have everything we need. They even helped us edit the script of what we're going to say on stage. They're an extension of our work family. They have gone to our biggest sales meeting each year and worked their tails off, offering people rides on mowers. They literally go way outside of their job description to help us.
I use a software called Basecamp, and it helps us manage our ongoing projects. As far as VisionAmp is concerned, Susannah keeps everything in order. She produces a project priority list for us, and we go through those each week. Sometimes, we end up having to bump things to the top and knock things down. She helps manage all that.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Whereas other agencies have templated agendas, VisionAmp does a lot of listening. They hear our concerns and build bespoke solutions, and we retain the ownership of those solutions. On the digital side of things, many places make you buy and continually pay an exorbitant amount of fees for their software. VisionAmp instead has saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars because of the things that they built.
Additionally, VisionAmp keeps their prices low, and they don't try to gouge us. They are honest, trustworthy, and they really try their hardest to help find a solution. They don't get upset if we pivot in a different direction. They feel like family to us and they have the desire to see us succeed — we don't get the impression that they're in it just to see themselves succeed. They put our name at the forefront.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't brag enough about VisionAmp’s personability, quality of work, and accessibility. I'm not sure how I could improve them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Tell VisionAmp exactly what you're looking for, but let them guide you as far as their expertise is concerned. They have been there and done that, and they generally know what works and what doesn't.
Even though you have exactly what you want in mind, I would say listen to their advice. They will do exactly what you want to do, but they have such good experience and wisdom to offer that it could save you time and money by collaborating and not just going in with your idea.
