The scope of work included the creation of a 1-minute explainer video that effectively introduced Atono and drove curiosity across pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases. To enhance versatility, the project also included 10 different intro variations, allowing for tailored messaging across different audience segments and platforms. Additionally, social media assets, including GIFs, were developed to support organic engagement and brand awareness. For paid promotion, dedicated ad assets were designed to optimize conversions. Finally, the video was delivered in three different cuts with varying durations, ensuring adaptability for different channels such as short-form social content, website placement, and in-depth ad campaigns.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The measurable outcomes from the project demonstrated significant progress and success. The 1-minute explainer video was played at a conference, achieving maximum exposure and generating strong interest. While the team is still experimenting with assets for paid campaigns, the assets created have already been utilized effectively in inbound marketing efforts, such as email campaigns, to further engage prospects. Additionally, the project led to buy-in from the rest of the team regarding the consistency of the product messaging and the video, ensuring alignment and cohesion across all marketing materials.

The project management was smooth and efficient, with the team staying on track for each milestone throughout the entire project. We consistently felt like we were in safe hands, with little concern that deadlines would be missed. Nathan did an excellent job ensuring there was clear and transparent communication at all times, keeping us in the loop on the project's progress.

What I found most impressive and unique about this company was how on top of things the team was compared to other companies I've worked with. They demonstrated exceptional organization and maintained clear communication throughout the entire process, making everything run smoothly. It was also a very collaborative experience, with the team actively involving us and valuing our input at every stage. We also appreciated the team using their expertise and past experience to give us valuable guidance and direction, ensuring we made the best decisions along the way

Are there any areas for improvement or something Vidico could have done differently?

Honestly, there weren’t many areas for improvement. The only thing I could think of is consolidating feedback in a central location. At times, it felt a bit scattered across Figma and Slack, which made tracking and reviewing feedback a little more challenging than it needed to be. Other than that, the process was smooth and efficient, and the team did a great job overall.

Vidico helped us create a 60 second explainer video for our Assessment Builder tool, from scratch to release. They worked with us to storyboard, art direct, record voiceovers and animate the final video. We also worked with them to create a number of cutdowns to use on social media.

The video received a lot of great reception and is prominently featured on our website. We've used the cutdowns on LinkedIn to promote the tool and have generated over 1,200 clicks, leading to a decently sized conversion.

Vidico was always on time and often went above and beyond to fulfill our needs, regardless of time constaints. They were able to swap out assets late in the process, and help strategize when we were unsure of messaging.

Deliverable was a 1-min product video explainer. I provided the script and some product images and an outdated video we were trying to replicate/refresh. Under my direction, Vidico put together stock footage, animated my product images, recorded voiceover in 3 accents, and added some tasteful music and sound effects.

The video is meant to be brandable by our customers to use for marketing to THEIR customers, and they made that really easy and showed us how to do that in AfterEffects. It was pretty affordable for our small startup budget, and it was done within 6 weeks. Great communication and collaboration throughout the project.

There were a few times I felt like I had to repeat a requirement several times before they sunk in with the team - like the fact that the video is white-labeled, so it didn't make sense to include any of my company's branding in it.

Timely communication and weekly checkpoints (video calls). Responsive and collaborative. All necessary info, documents, references, timeline and scoping was easily centralized in a sweet Notion client workspace. Producer was on top of things and made sure our feedback was incorporated along the way, at each project stage.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very professional and organized in how they collaborated while leveraging modern tools and platforms to project manage, gather feedback, and make their creative output more scalable. I'm impressed by how dialed-in and repeatable their process is, while maintaining pretty high standards for motion design and smoothness. Would hire again in the future for another video project like this of similar scope. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Vidico could have done differently?

More of the onus was on us (the client) than I'd anticipated, for an outsourced project. I probably spent a few hours per week on this video -- specifically giving feedback and producing screen-recordings of our platform and the story we wanted to tell. I had thought this was something they would largely take on. But I also understand that we have a fairly complex enterprise SaaS platform, and internal product knowledge helps (i.e. me recording these things ourselves and handing off to Vidico's team).

That said, I do appreciate that there is a chance for client feedback and approval at each stage of the linear production process (scripting, storyboarding, VO, key frames, etc.) so that we can stay on timeline overall. But for enterprise level SaaS brands with many stakeholders to wrangle, it's worth setting the expectation for the client that you're going to spend several hours per week on this project to keep things moving.

Timeline was extended a bit, but that was partially due to our part and having revisions that we requested. What I liked was that Vidico was efficient in the work they did and very responsive to revisions/edits/modifications suggestions that we wanted. We had no issues with Vidico and their outcome was tailored precisely to what we wanted.

One feedback is some of the actors we requested were not available. It was harder to find availability for our top choices than I had hoped. We were still happy in the end by the choices we made, but it would be good to have the Vidico team keep that up to date/refreshed more often. Also, they had voice/video samples for some but not all of them. I think if they can be consistent and have all of them with complete information, that would be optimal.

I’m the brand marketing manager for an industrial solution company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Vidico?

I was looking for a company that would be able to support me in the creation of a video for a campaign. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We went through a process of defining the scripts, gathering information from the company and platform, and delivering the script. After that, we moved on to the voice-over, selecting talent, outfits, stock footage, and delivering the storyboard. Vidico provided different drafts of the video until we signed off on the final one.

They wrote the script for the video, handled the voice-over, provided us with talent, and took care of stock videos. Vidico was responsible for the music selection and everything in between. They produced the video and provided us with a comprehensive service. 

The final products are product videos for promotional purposes. They provided one full 2-minute video and two cuts that are 15 seconds and six seconds. The project took 1.5 months.

What is the team composition? 

I worked with 3-4 people, including the production and discovery teams. I was in touch with two people during the production. 

How did you come to work with Vidico?

They got in touch with me through email explaining what they do. I pitched three different agencies and decided to go with Vidico based on how they presented the service and our engagement throughout the production phase. It was easy for me to understand them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $25,000 AUD (approximately $17,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together between March 2023–April 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The video supported the marketing strategy, and we have plans to generate more leads and awareness. We haven’t started using the video yet, but we’re planning a campaign launch by the beginning of July.

How did Vidico perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication was something Vidico did well. They kept us updated, were always on time, and always answered questions. They forgot to send me pictures and logo animations that were included in the price at one point, and I forgot about it until I checked the scope of work and noticed there were assets they didn’t deliver. I got in touch with them, and they were really quick to answer. We communicated through email, Google Meet, and Notion. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were kind throughout the process and were open to understanding the product. They wanted to create the best assets for us and exceed our expectations. They managed the process itself very well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could use less talk footage and have more talent options. Vidico needed more recent pictures and clips of the talent so we knew who we were getting. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Prepare yourself to provide all of the content that they need. In order to provide the best product, they also need good information and a good database of information, pictures, video, or whatever is the case. They need to understand the product they have to sell, so there’s a lot of work on the client’s side for Vidico to create a process.

Creativity. I spent months thinking about how it should be done. After speaking with them they had a great idea that I had not thought of. Their ability to think outside the box and envision the video in a way I had never thought of.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Vidico  could have done differently?

I just would have loved to have a meeting in person and would have liked to be on set. Circumstances didn't allow this and I am not entirely sure my presence would have improved the video at all, it would have just been a fun/unique experience.
