Instead of the promised growth, these actions triggered severe Google penalties, resulting in a 90% traffic collapse.

The results were catastrophic. Before working with Verbsz, our website averaged 30,000 daily visitors. Following their implementation of black-hat tactics and the resulting Google penalties, our traffic plummeted by 90%, dropping from 30,000 to just ~300 daily visitors.

Key negative outcomes included:

• Ranking Collapse: We lost nearly all first-page rankings for critical addiction treatment keywords that we had held for over a decade.
• Mass Layoffs: The loss of digital leads was so severe that we were forced to lay off 9 employees (approximately 25% of our workforce) to keep the business afloat.
• Domain Damage: We were saddled with 500+ spammy backlinks from their internal doorway page network, which we are still manually disavowing months later.
• Total Rebuild: The damage was so extensive that we had to undergo a complete website rebuild and a total overhaul of our SEO strategy to begin the recovery process.

• Communication: Despite our attempt to reach out and resolve the damage in August 2025, they have not said a word as of 1/9/2026.

• Items were delivered on time, but those items were essentially "digital poison" for our domain. Their current silence in the face of our center's near-closure speaks volumes about their lack of professional integrity.

Since identifying the damage caused by their prohibited tactics, we reached out to seek a resolution in August 2024. The agency has completely ignored all communications as of 1/9/2026, ghosting our 19-year-old business during its worst performance crisis.

The 'value' delivered was a 90% loss in daily visitors, 500+ spammy backlinks from the agency's own network that we must now manually disavow, and the forced layoff of 1/4 of our workforce. This resulted in a massive negative ROI and significant additional costs to repair the technical damage to our domain.

It is rare to find an agency that so confidently pushes for keyword stuffing (15–20 variations per page) and the creation of 1,700+ doorway pages as a legitimate strategy in 2024+.

Their most 'impressive' feat was their total lack of accountability; after accepting over $61,000 in fees and watching our traffic plummet by 90%, they completely ceased communication. Their silence during our business-threatening crisis, while they continue to market themselves as a top US-based agency using the same spam tactics for their own growth, is a level of unprofessionalism I have not encountered in 19 years of business.

Their use of 'black hat' SEO tactics - including keyword stuffing and doorway pages - violates core Google guidelines and can permanently damage a brand's reputation and revenue. Their 'US-based' presence is a facade for offshore operations that offer zero accountability when their strategies lead to catastrophic business failure. Stay far away.

They leveraged their Google Partner status to push prohibited SEO tactics that decimated our ability to reach people in need of addiction treatment. Their lack of transparency regarding their offshore operations and their total refusal to take accountability for the damage they caused make them a severe liability to any business owner.

The most critical area for improvement is a fundamental adherence to the Google Search Essentials. Verbsz should have prioritized ethical, 'white hat' SEO over the prohibited 'black hat' tactics that decimated our traffic. 

Specifically, they could have:

• Advised Against Harmful Tactics: Instead of directing a client to keyword stuff (specifically requesting 15–20 variations per page), an expert agency should protect their client from known search penalties.
• Transparency in Strategy: They should have been honest about the risks associated with "doorway pages" and the creation of spammy backlink networks.
• Accountability and Communication: When a client faces a 90% traffic drop and 9 layoffs as a direct result of an agency's work, the agency must take responsibility. Verbsz has instead chose to "ghost" us for 5+ months rather than attempting to resolve the damage.
• Operational Honesty: Operating from a virtual office while claiming a local US presence creates a false sense of security for domestic businesses.

Verbsz could have scaffolded a business that helps save lives in the face of addiction instead of almost causing it to close by simply following the guidelines they are supposedly "certified" in as a Google Partner.

After some initial research and back and forth on the ads they developed, we agreed on the creative messaging and the graphics they designed, and they went ahead with the ad launches. After each call we set action items for both teams and go over how the ads are performing.
