What challenge were you trying to address with Velocity?

We've been doing marketing efforts in the US for three and a half years, but we’re constantly facing challenges in terms of generating good quality leads from our Google Ads and maintaining good conversion and CPC rates. That being said, we hired Velocity to solve these problems for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

At the beginning of the project, we gave Velocity a brief and talked about our company and industry. They then started working on our Google Ads. They improved our ad copy and PPC strategy, conducted keyword research, and regularly tested our ads and landing pages to stabilize our account.

We’ve been working with them for almost a year now on Google Ads. They regularly connect with us to give us feedback and support while planning what can be done next.

We’ve coordinated only with John (Director), which we think is an ideal setup because being involved with too many people can be very cumbersome. Whenever there are things we need to address or discuss, we reach out to him.

I knew that our company was looking at several other agencies, but the selection process was done by someone else within the company.

We started working with them in January 2022, and it’s an ongoing partnership.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

With John’s help, our CPC rate has been very consistent; at a certain point, we’ve managed to lower it by around 60%–70%. While there have been a few fluctuations, his team continues to manage it really well. They’ve also been consistent in terms of generating good, quality leads, which is remarkable. Overall, they’ve been doing a great job.

How did Velocity perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Google Meets for weekly meetings to discuss reports and any new updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed with John’s understanding of Google Ads. He’s really helped us in stabilizing our ads. Also, the team’s customer service is exceptional — whenever we have concerns or problems, we’ll get a response right away, even during holidays.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give Velocity a chance; they will do well. Also, making Google Ads takes some time, so be patient.

I’m the owner of manning general contractors, and we support restoration and retail work in the residential and commercial space. We also do interior remodeling.

Velocity built and developed our website so that we could capture leads and efficiently talk and target different customers. They also manage all our SEO and Google Ads efforts — and just across the board manages all of our marketing and advertising.

We worked with a couple of different agencies in the past. Back then, I used to refer people to various agencies. However, with this project, I reached out to one of my former colleagues, and I asked him if he knew anybody in his market. In the end, he recommended Velocity.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Velocity’s support has allowed us to generate a lot of leads and interest in the market. In fact, their SEO services helps us generate more leads. Additionally, when they took over our website, our hit rate went up by 840%.

How did Velocity perform from a project management standpoint?

Anytime I need something, I could call them. They’re very punctual in getting back to us. Just last night, I sent them an email around 11:30 p.m to tell them to add something on the website, and they responded at 4:55 a.m that everything was done already. We also had a call this morning to ensure that we were both on the same page.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The attention they’ve given us has been very impressive. They respond to us very quickly, and they’re able to implement changes instantly. Moreover, they adapt to our needs. Overall, we have a personal relationship than a business relationship.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I'm very demanding so there are times when I request things and they aren't capable of implementing immediately. However, they take the time to research so that they can figure things out and fulfill our needs — it's pretty normal for any company to have that challenge.

Be very focused on who your target audience is. In our case, once we dialed in where we needed to focus, Velocity was able to do a really good job in getting the customers we needed.

We had an initial phone call, and Velocity sent a proposal to us. We hired their team for a three-month trial, and they did PPC services for us every week. For the project brief, we just talked about the geographies that we wanted to target as well as the keywords we needed to use in the ads.
 
At present, they’re still running Google Ads for us. They’ve since implemented strategies for our PPC ads and geographies.

We are a real estate company that specializes in acquiring distressed properties or rental properties to add to our portfolio or to resell to our network of investors. I am part of the acquisition team and work directly with the sellers/ inventors, managing transactions and running property reviews.

For what projects/services did your company hire Velocity, and what were your goals?

We hired them to build Google Ads campaigns to drive leads into our sales funnel. Specifically the campaigns were built to find people looking to sell their homes. We had tried paid search ads before internally but didn’t get the results we wanted, so the decision was made to engage an external agency.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found them on the recommendation of a contact who works in a similar industry. Once we jumped on a call with them we felt they were small enough to give us the attention, and had the experience and process to move the needle on lead generation.

They consulted with us on strategy, helped to define our marketing message, then built a Google Ads campaign from scratch. The project work included keyword research, writing ad copy, and designing landing pages for us.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked directly with their founder. But also had interactions with some of their design team and project managers. So 3-4 folks in total.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Inbound leads are way up, we now have a new means to source deals where we aren’t reliant on referrals or our network. Their campaigns have started to impact our topline revenue, driving a few closures each month, which for us is a pretty big deal.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project began with a kickoff on a video, then updates were shared bi-weekly on a video call, we also discussed strategy on this call. Reports are shared monthly via email. If we have any requests we email their team or if it’s urgent call them. The timeline was shared upfront and we had our ads live in about 2 weeks, then we began to see results pretty shortly after some initial tweaks were made to the campaigns.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really offer hands-on service. We didn’t feel like just another client. Response times are fast and our concerns have all been addressed quickly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We were aware that it can be tricky to forecast advertising results, initially campaigns didn’t hit the targets we expected. But the team quickly dug into it, then performance actually exceeded our lead goals. I’d say take performance forecasts with a pinch of salt.

I’m the owner of a real estate investment company. Our growth strategy is to buy, remodel, rent, and refinance properties. We currently have 85–90 rental properties we’re buying in 5–6 months. Our whole cash flow is through the rental properties and their appreciation.

What challenge were you trying to address with Velocity?

The properties we’re buying aren’t in the multiple listing service (MLS); they’re essentially for sale by their owners. With that in mind, we’ve hired Velocity to put up landing pages through subdomains. This helps us directly advertise to people looking to sell properties that aren’t fit for the MLS.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Velocity has created landing pages for us. The team also runs PPC campaigns, and they mainly advertise us on Google. When they generate leads for us, I speak with the customers about fair pricing offers for their houses. If the numbers make sense for them, they go ahead with us.

I mainly deal with Velocity’s owner and an account manager. Our team has talked to their owner about budgets and spending, while the account manager deals with us on a weekly basis about everything else.

How did you come to work with Velocity?

I was looking for a niche company, and Velocity seemed to be a good fit. They were a small team based in New York, and they weren’t the same as a massive ad agency that charged crazy amounts of money. Moreover, we weren’t just a number to them, and I liked that kind of exclusivity. They answered my calls and emails immediately, and their owner was knowledgeable about the project. As a result, I hired them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent at least $20,000–$25,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Velocity in March 2021, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The leads that we’ve gained through Velocity have been fantastic, and they’ve helped us find great off-market properties. Around 65–75 leads have been generated, and we’ve closed about 26–28 houses. Normally, we pay wholesalers around $10,000 to go door-to-door to find absentee owners. Doing the math, closing 26–28 houses with Velocity instead of paying wholesalers has let us save 15 times more than what we’ve spent. 

Moreover, our lead cost has dropped, which is fantastic. We now have enough properties to run us through the end of the year. 

How did Velocity perform from a project management standpoint?

We typically communicate through emails and phone calls, and Velocity’s communication has been fantastic and brilliant. They’re quick to respond, and they sit down with me to face any issues we have. Their owner sends me weekly reports on each of our metrics, such as ad spending and leads. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The real estate industry research that Velocity put into their work has been impressive. Apart from that, their attention to detail is great. They come back to us with suggestions for keywords and price points that we should target. The team has even done A/B testing to find where we get better results. Overall, all of this shows they care about what they’re doing.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. They’ve been honest and upfront about how these things work, so I have nothing bad to say about them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Stay with the engagement. Lead generation campaigns take a while, and it takes 2–3 months to get the ball rolling. As a result, hold on tight and work on it with Velocity with 100% commitment. I’ve been a bit skeptical at the start because of the amount of money going out for lead generation. However, that has completely changed since the lead cost has gone down as we’ve generated more and more leads.
