I’m the senior advisor of EasyPark AB, a global company reviewing to continuously expand to new markets. I was the CEO of the company for 14 years, but last year, I decided to step down. Thus, I now work with my successor and the owners part-time, mainly working on our expansion.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Várri Consultancy provides us with business consulting. In the beginning, we had a few calls with them to describe at a relevant level our market, background, and history. Then, we got into specific details regarding what we were looking to obtain and defined the different goals and objectives.
During this process, we described our industry, the different stakeholders, and the relationship between those stakeholders. Our company has a presence in close to 25 countries, so there are a lot of opportunities. Therefore, we also specified what we wanted to get out of this engagement.
Since those initial meetings, we’ve had several other calls with Várri Consulting. On those calls, they’ve shared results, reports, and their understanding of those findings.

We’ve engaged Várri Consultancy on various specific items related to risk management, framework assessment of risk, and the legal structure for the transactions that we do with our clients and lenders. We had an initial discussion to explain our requirements, and then they got back to us with the scope of work. However, we realized that the scope wasn’t necessarily what we were looking for, so we involved them on a retainer basis.
Every time we have a request, they help us look at the risk impact on our legal agreement on the debt side. Our risk assessments are a framework for the company. We’ve conducted a workshop, and we’re doing several other things based on priority.

The second assignment was for Varri to review our investment committee reports and include a credit policy and credit exposure matrix to assist us in the decision-making. In the third instance, we hired them to conduct an exploratory workshop with our founders and C-Suite to teach them how to manage investment-related risks in solar power assets.
