I worked with this vendor to build REST APIs on AWS for our networking systems. They really delivered on all fronts.

The team handled everything from scratch - from designing the APIs to getting them up and running on AWS. They set up all the core API functions we needed, made sure everything was secure, and tied it all together with our existing network management tools. What I particularly liked was how they documented everything clearly and built in proper testing from day one.

On the AWS side, they knew their stuff. They set up API Gateway and Lambda functions efficiently, made sure everything could scale when needed, and put in proper monitoring. They also gave us separate environments for development, staging, and production which made the whole process smooth.

The most immediate impact we saw was in our system's performance - API response times. 

The new setup handles our peak loads of 1000+ requests per second without any issues, with good response times.

With automated deployments, we're doing zero-downtime deployments now.

AWS resource costs are down, not having to maintain dedicated servers is a great feeling.

Regarding security, system passed our security audits - zero critical findings.

Project management was consistently professional. We kicked off with a clear project timeline, and they stuck to it throughout the development cycle. We followed agile.

We used Jira to track everything. Trinesis was quick to adapt. They even put in extra hours during a critical phase to ensure we didn't miss our launch deadline.

Documentation process wasn't as thorough as it could have been. 

The initial project estimates could have been more detailed. While they met the final timeline, there were a couple of sprints where we had to readjust scope because some tasks took longer than initially estimated, particularly around AWS service integrations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Trinesis Technologies Private Limited provides offsite mobile and web application development services. We initially told them what we were looking for, and they provided a detailed scope of work with the milestones they’d achieve. They took some time to ramp up to the existing code base, and their first task was to migrate it from native iOS and Android apps into React Native.

They’ve built the React Native version from the ground up, utilizing some attributes from the previous app and adding many new features. They’ve also used Figma for the design, and the infrastructure runs on the Google Cloud Platform. In the beginning, we provided them with guidelines, and Trinesis Technologies Private Limited did the Figma mock-ups.

We initially met their CEO, CTO, and CIO. Since then, we’ve dealt with about 10 teammates, including a project manager, app developers, web app developers, and QA people.

The evidence of their impact would be the mobile & web apps that they helped create and which are being used every day.

How did Trinesis Technologies Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great at communicating. We have daily stand-ups and various other weekly meetings. We use Google Chat for direct and real-time communication, Google Meet for video meetings, and Jira for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They stand out above the crowd mostly for their technical acumen. Our team can have deep technical conversations with them, and they understand what we’re talking about. We’ve found that other providers are very superficial in their technical knowledge.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They previously had a project manager that wasn’t a good communicator. However, we spoke with them about it, and they were responsive.

I suggest having your requirements written out. They need to understand the expectations to meet those requirements.

I am the founder of TARA, an EdTech SaaS company based in the US. Our product is a web application designed for K-12 teachers and schools that streamlines the planning, coaching, and PD needed to support teachers effectively.

Trinesis came highly recommend from a trusted PM I knew locally. He vouched for their work and dedication. After reviewing several options, it became clear that Trinesis offered the best combination of skill, value & flexibility that we would need to iterate and grow quickly.

We started purely from wireframes and have slowly built up an MVP and are now onto our v4.0 as we scale with clients. Trinesis has been our lead dev team on both frontend and backend using a combination of technologies like Python, Django, Vue.js, Postgres, DRF, Celery, Javascript along with Jenkins and GIT. We build using AWS and Trinesis has also helped us integrate tools like Stripe and Pendo as well.

Trinesis has allowed us to flex the size of the team supporting our work and we are now currently working with 6-7 team members including 2 frontend, 2 backend, 1-2 QA, a flex DevOps and a PM.

Since Trinesis has been our dev team since day one, we have gone through many milestones with them including our beta test, MVP, working to scale up capacity in just 3 weeks for a national partnership, and continued iteration year over year. They have always been very flexible and work to make our vision a reality, regardless of the requirements.

We communicate daily with our PM from Trinesis and can also connect with their CTO if need be via Slack. They send daily updates on various dev items via email and tracked using Jira. They also provide timelines and estimates whenever requested.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I continue to be impressed by their flexibility and solution-oriented mindset. When we needed to double the dev team size, they were able to get new team members up to speed in the same week. When we landed our first large contract, they were quick to help me think through the implications and put in extra hours to get us as ready as we could be. Having the opportunity to get to know their founders has also been nice since we are both striving to grow our businesses and know how challenging that can be.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

When we first started working together, they would consistently deliver exactly what I asked for - unfortunately, my own inexperience meant that I missed some important structural or UX elements in my initial designs (and we still do every once in awhile) - so those delivered items would include those mistakes because those were the requirements I provided.

With that in mind, there are times where I think they could use their experience to either suggest or iron out some minor issues here or there to save us some time. However, over time, as we've built our working relationship and their familiarity with our use cases, they have started to help us foresee issues ahead of time much more consistently.

Trinesis provided backend and frontend coding services, as well as managing and performing all DevOps tasks.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I worked with one of the Trinesis founders on another project, and our relationship was very strong. When I started my own company, it was natural for me to bring Trinesis in for the software development.

We used GitLab as our source code repository, and used a modified Kanban project management approach with boards and standup meetings twice a week. The software was built on AWS using Python, Django, and Vue frameworks along with MySQL and Redis. We built a platform to manage multiple users, organizations, and events, and to intake thousands of individual data points of feedback simultaneously as multiple events were ongoing.

We incorporated multiple types of analytics from data exports to charts to integration of Metabase andother analytics tools as we investigated the correct approach. Trinesis was very flexible and responded quickly to our needs at every turn.

We worked with a project manager, a devops specialist, a back-end/Python specialist, and a front-end specialist. The founders, who are all coders in their own right, were available as needed to assist.

Trinesis built our system after we had constructed a prototype. They created an API and a platform from essentially scratch per my requirements. It was tested and performed extremely robustly and could support the load we required.

Trinesis is very flexible and can work within any system or structure that you require. They are persistent in their project management, making sure they follow up and that everyone understands what the expectations are for the phase of the project you're currently in. When necessary they are willing to bend over backwards to get the job done, no matter the time of day. Sometimes I wondered exactly when these guys ever go to sleep-- they always responded super-quick no matter what time it was in Pune!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their breadth of expertise is very strong. There's almost nothing I asked them to do that they said "we don't have that skill set". But even more than that, Trinesis is just good people. I enjoyed working with them and getting to know their team. I felt that I could completely trust them and that took so much anxiety out of my head that I'm very grateful.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes we have to be extremely sure that we're all on the same page so that we don't waste any work cycles getting back to the exact requirements. That was never a huge issue, and it's something that is a natural challenge when working from a continent away and collaborating between cultures and countries.
