Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and CTO of a SaaS analytics platform that services e-commerce companies around the world.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tech Prescient?

We needed full stack development services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tech Prescient is our full stack development partner, so they’ve done a variety of work for me. Our projects have included web application development and various system integrations. In addition to that, Tech Prescient supports me in my DevOps technical operations.

For web app development, we primarily use Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js. However, we use a lot of other technologies, like DynamoDB to support fast response times.

Regarding system integrations, Tech Prescient has worked on a lot of API integration projects. We’ve also done various data integrations with platforms like Facebook, Google, Snapchat, Pinterest, and Shopify, as well as around 250 connections to various partners in the ecosystem. The bulk of their work is focused on making the actual integrations and maintaining the underlying platforms that support those connections.

Tech Prescient’s IT services are cloud-based, and everything is hosted on Amazon. As I mentioned, they help us with our technical operations, so they use the AWS environment to help us in our different pipelines.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with about 15 people from Tech Prescient at this point, from whom the project manager is my main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Tech Prescient?

I was looking for development partners, and someone in my network referred me to Tech Prescient’s founder. We started talking about an initial project, hit it off, and grew our partnership into more projects.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent a couple of million dollars so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around April 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since working with Tech Prescient, my investment capacity has grown significantly. Initially, I had a budget of around $2,000 to invest every month, but now, my monthly investment budget is around $50,000–$70,000 — that’s a testament to their success. Additionally, the number of people we work with from their team has also grown, and they’ve delivered numerous successful projects.

In addition to the results, their involvement has been incredibly helpful for me. For example, they’ve taken ownership of several components in my technology stack, building them and maintaining them end to end. Overall, they’ve met and even exceeded my expectations.

How did Tech Prescient perform from a project management standpoint?

Tech Prescient’s project management has been on point. They do about 95% of their work remotely, although we used to meet at a small office prior to the pandemic. However, we don’t use it anymore. 

Currently, they’re fully integrated into our environment. We communicate via Slack and have monthly meetings with the main project manager to touch base. As they have multiple teams working on our projects, we also have separate monthly meetings with each team’s project manager.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tech Prescient is very strong from a delivery management standpoint, and they have incredible development and QA practices. Additionally, they’ve built their team so that they can act as an extension of ours, and we can operate as a unit. Having a partner that we can rely on has been great.

When we met them, they were web application development specialists, but since, they’ve grown into a more comprehensive development team. They can do everything, from frontend and backend development to database development and technical support. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if Tech Prescient grew faster. As we’re a growing startup, we’re constantly looking to scale our teams and delivery capacity. However, I know that it is hard to hire quality resources, so this challenge is not exclusive to them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We’ve had great success when treating vendors as partners instead of just vendors. We’ve created a trustful and solid working relationship with Tech Prescient, integrating them into our team, and we’ve found great success.
