The system was launched and operational by the set timeline.   

Additional tools and features were built to spec and successfully integrated within the system.

A project manager was assigned to the team.  Weekly meetings were held, and specific items were assigned to each sprint.   Once the sprint was concluded the team would meet to review and test new development.  Additionally, the project manager would suggest the next topics to be worked on in the next sprint.  This process continued until the system was launched.

I am the CPO of Danish startup Aya.

For what projects/services did your company hire Teamvoy?

We needed to build a working version 1 of our app for both iOS and Android - an advanced MVP if you will. Teamvoy was hired to run backend, frontend, PM for the development, and launch in app stores.

What were your goals for this project?

To have a working app for both iOS and Android with custom integration and implementation to a chatbot.

SOLUTION

How did you select Teamvoy?

Our team researched on near- and offshore options for app development skills, and compiled a list of 4 providers, which we ranked on personal match (cooperation, communication), price, availability and time.

Teamvoy has performed brilliantly in all 4 categories and been great at estimating risks and opportunities, also when time and scope needed changes.

Describe the project in detail.

After selecting vendor (TV), final scope and estimates were exchanged, along with agreements of cooperation model (scrum as main method, daily standups (video call) + slack + epics/stories in Gitlab). 1 week later, the project was started, and the first milestones of the sprints were worked on.

What was the team composition?

From team Aya: CPO (simon) throughout full project, supplemented by partial involvement from UX/product (Kasia), UI/frame design (Johan) and Kring rep (Mads).

From Teamvoy: Zhanna (lead engineer), Inna (frontend), Maksym (QA), Mariana (PM), Vova (Backend)

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app was developed as agreed on, within realistic time and with all features approved. This should be emphasized as an achievement, since the underlying bot framework and API was causing a lot of issues. TV succesfully later changed this component to MS Bots, in coordination with Team Aya and a new bot engineering team. Concrete result is the app, visible here: https://getaya.io/

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Absolutely flawless, flexible and on time. If we disregard the fact that delivery and output was agreed on, we were quite impressed by the professional operation, process and in general sense of collaboration. Also keeping track of tasks, meeting notes and assignment of tasks was smooth and simple.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Teamvoy has a great structure and communication, topped off with a lot of openness for new ideas to solutions . Especially Zhanna was always helping out to clear whatever problems and needs we discovered along the project.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Only 2 smaller things. The guidelines and help provided to set up app stores was a bit limited - especially to people, who have never tried it before. Further, bug reporting could be seen as a bit too adhoc from a client POV. It was simply using slack and then TV would evt. document in Gitlab when they found it useful.

For us it was okay, since TV was quick at responding, and bc we're a quite small team and a startup. But in an ideal world, I would prefer to use whatever software for collaboration to make sure things are documented and assigned, instead of being potentially lost in clutter of Slack (e.g. Gitlab which was already being used).

This would also ensure even better collaboration with 3rd party engineers, especially using shared tools, timelines and processes.

We developed a custom museum game for a exhibition about capitalism in Bundeskunsthalle Bonn. It included stations with cameras und buzzers, a mobile app and a printing station with a thermo printer. It was a complex sewtup.

It was a completely new game for the museum landscape and has a huge impact on our business, as it is reviews by many other museums.

We worked with Slack, occasional Skype Calls and Gitlab for issue tracking.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The professional communication, ability to deal with crunch time, and understanding of the project impressed us. They find fast and good solutions.

We're a New York-based plastics fabrication company. I am the president and CEO of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teamvoy?

We were looking to develop a virtual 3D modeler for our products, allowing people to get an impression of how something would look before placing an order. It would serve as an internal tool for the sales team.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Teamvoy developed our software tool. There were different resources involved at different stages since the project has been constantly evolving. We were using three programmers in the beginning, but are using a single one at present, along with a project manager from Teamvoy.

How did you come to work with Teamvoy?

I had worked with Teamvoy at a previous startup, programming a Ruby on Rails system. I very much liked their work and wanted to use Teamvoy again on the current project.

The cost of Teamvoy's work was between $50,000 and $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Teamvoy one year ago. The project is ongoing; we see it as a constant development process.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We receive regular feedback from clients who have been very excited about our builder. It has helped them visualize the products enough to want to purchase them. Having a system which contributes to our company sales is the best metric of success.

How did Teamvoy perform from a project management standpoint?

Teamvoy has been excellent in this regard. We have used some project management tools but mainly communicated with Teamvoy's manager.

What did you find most impressive about Teamvoy?

Teamvoy is extremely responsive and the team has a deep knowledge of the customer's needs. They looked at what it was we were trying to achieve and came up with creative solutions. Our development projects involved elements which we suggested to Teamvoy, but there were quite a few things which Teamvoy brought to us. The care and interest they showed are what makes Teamvoy special.

No. Teamvoy was perfect on our project.

We run a social network for neighborhoods in Norway. We are a small organization of four people sharing all responsibilities. I am the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the business.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teamvoy?

We wanted to develop a website and app, for which we needed to hire a team that could handle every version of our platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Teamvoy has provided all the programming for our apps using Ruby on Rails, as well as parts of the design. We work with a separate web designer which we used for creating the requirements that we gave to Teamvoy.

Teamvoy has assigned around 8 people for our project overall, but some of them only worked on specific tasks.

How did you come to work with Teamvoy?

We found Teamvoy on Elance after posting our requirements and budget. We received 38 different proposals, which was quite overwhelming. Teamvoy was new to Elance at the time and didn't have many reviews relevant to the kind of website that we wanted to develop. There was a leap of faith that we took because we had a good feeling about them. Teamvoy promised more than the other candidates, which paid off in the end. They didn't earn a lot of money with us in the beginning, but we ended up giving Teamvoy more projects over time.

How much have you invested with Teamvoy?

The total cost of Teamvoy's development is between $50,000 and $200,000. The exact amount is difficult to judge because we've worked with Teamvoy for a long time, making improvements to our platform.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have an ongoing relationship. Whenever we want to make upgrades or change the design of our apps, we will go to Teamvoy.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We haven't measured any precise statistics for our platform.

How did Teamvoy perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed quite well. They work really hard and get things done quickly. We had very good communication using Skype and Slack. There were occasional delays, either because we made changes, or because the amount of work was underestimated, but Teamvoy pushed themselves hard for tight deadlines. We factor in delays when we discuss any deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about Teamvoy?

From what I've seen, Teamvoy is a one-stop-shop. We could hire them for comprehensive projects, and Teamvoy will provide all the required skills, either in-house or by outsourcing. The important part is that Teamvoy can deliver fully, which is great. We were really impressed by their skills and speed for building great apps. They built both our iOS and Android app and we were very pleased with the final product. 

Are there any areas Teamvoy could improve?

This is a subjective issue, but design is something that Teamvoy could improve in order to become even stronger. At least for our needs, Teamvoy has done everything that was required, minus the design. We tried to use their designer, but weren't happy with them. Also, there were some mistakes in implementing the user interface created by our designer.
