Please describe your company and your position there.

During the time I worked with Swerve, I was the marketing director for a robotic toy manufacturing firm, and its two wholly owned subsidiaries.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Swerve, and what were your goals?

We worked with Swerve to head up consumer PR in Canada. We also worked with them in the US every year to help drum up awareness and buzz around their subsidiary's robotics championship event.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

Andrew and I met as industry contacts in the toy industry, and his company quickly proved it had a good grasp on both the Canadian and US Toy and Education markets.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

Swerve began by completing any market research necessary and then pitching a scope of work / PR strategy. They did everything from media relations, to student background interviews, to media tours. They drafted press releases and leveraged social media to spread awareness and engagement. They provided follow up measurement reports and always had excellent customer service.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Andrew and at least two other members from the Swerve team worked with me.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

When we first launched our robotics championship event, nobody knew what it was. Now it is the largest and most prestigious global robotics competition. Swerve's expertise and work also helped ensure that our subsidiary company remained top of mind in Canada.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Swerve was very detailed with recap reports and would track things in excel as well as google docs, depending on our preference and the level of detail needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The company has a lot of heart and truly cares about it's customers/clients. They were one of the sharpest and most well-connected individuals in the industry, and he truly hires people that share his same passion.

**The Review** — Oct 31, 2023

**Feedback Summary**: Swerve’s work quality exceeded the client’s expectations, as the campaigns surpassed the established impression goals for the project. The team was able to create well-thought-out strategies and use their industry expertise to help the client. Moreover, their positive attitude was outstanding.
"“I really liked the way Swerve worked. Their whole team had a positive attitude.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I was the brand manager of a toy company’s toy vehicles portfolio for almost two years.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Swerve? We needed help with digital marketing. Our goal was to increase our brand awareness; I wanted to reach a specific target.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Swerve was in charge of planning and executing our entire 2022 holiday marketing strategy, which was focused on influencer marketing and media outreach. After an onboarding process, Swerve created a brief for the project and started executing different campaigns. These campaigns had certain components in TikTok and Instagram, but a very important piece of these campaigns was the media outlets that talked about skateboarding or toys in general, which were relevant to our brand. What is the team composition? We worked with at least three teammates from Swerve on a weekly basis. How did you come to work with Swerve? My company was already working with Swerve on other brands. When I asked my colleagues for a recommendation, they directed me to Swerve. Initially, I got in touch with Andrew (Owner & CEO), who told me what they did, what their expertise was, and how they could help me with the business problem I had. After that, I met the team I would be working with, including the account management team. During that meeting, I explained our challenge and briefed them on our brand, and we took it from there. How much have you invested with them?We spent between $30,000–$50,000 CAD (approximately $22,000–$36,000 USD).What is the status of this engagement? We worked together from August–December 2022. Still, since that project, I’ve kept reaching out to Swerve for other projects as well.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? Initially, we set up a target for the impressions we wanted to get from these campaigns. Ultimately, Swerve surpassed that target. In addition to that, Swerve’s work quality exceeded my expectations.Given our business challenges and the target we wanted to reach, Swerve was able to translate our requirements into a well-thought-out strategy, which was a win on their side. The team also demonstrated an up-to-date knowledge of our target and touchpoints, ultimately delivering actionable insights, which was very important. Moreover, Swerve was very helpful in giving me visibility of the media landscape. I was someone new to the toy world, and they had a lot of experience in this space. That experience was very helpful for me in order to understand how toys work in terms of media exposure. How did Swerve perform from a project management standpoint?During the execution phase, I discovered that Swerve was very focused and action-oriented. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to plan strategically and drive conversions through marketing efforts. This sounds fundamental but was something our previous agency wasn't able to do. We were getting brand awareness, but the customer wasn't getting driven down the funnel to conversions, and there wasn't a sound plan to do so.

With Swerve - they take all stages of the funnel into consideration and are able to connect marketing efforts to conversions (and show how it's being done). This is important, as we learn what's working for our business, and, more importantly, what's not working to be able to pivot.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Swerve could have done differently?

The only suggestion would be if they continue to grow, an in-house graphic designer and website support would be beneficial. This way, we could do 100% of our marketing activity with Swerve and not have to find outside individuals. They have been great with referring us in the right direction, which we've certainly benefited from!

Additionally, our software can be embedded into other products, such as Fitbit devices, laptops, and earbuds.

We worked with around 3–5 people from Swerve, including Andrew (President & CEO) and an account director, who was our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Swerve?

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of Alfred Inc. We’re a smart lock manufacturer for the residential and multifamily market.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Swerve?

We needed a company that could handle our PR initiatives.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We were a new launch. We hired Swerve to help build our brand recognition by handling all of our PR needs. We also used them to vet all of the requests for samples that we received to make sure that whoever was going to test our product was legitimate and would do a good job.

What is the team composition?

I worked with three people from Swerve.

How did you come to work with Swerve?

We found Swerve through our retail representatives who had worked with Swerve on prior campaigns.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $250,000 CAD (Approximately $190,000 USD) on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2020–December 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Swerve got us on numerous morning shows. They got us on some HGTV shows, and they also helped us get a bunch of magazine and influencer coverage. We started out with a series of KPIs that we agreed on before we hired Swerve, and they were substantially over every marker that we had agreed upon. In the end, we were running just slightly more than a million clicks and a million impressions each day.

How did Swerve perform from a project management standpoint?

Swerve performed well in terms of project management. They provided us with monthly reports that showed every sample request and documented the validity of the influencers who were using the product and their reach with HGTV and some of the morning news channels. We also had a weekly review with Swerve’s team. They did a great job of documenting and reporting everything and leveraging that information to produce results.

We had a shared drive, and we typically communicated through Zoom and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Swerve did exactly what they said they would do and more every single time. They were a great vendor. We knew exactly what we would get and when we would get it. All of their people were very good, too.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If they could find a way to make it cheaper, that would be great. But we do believe that we got value out of the engagement — Swerve gave us more than they promised on every line.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to talk to them regularly. They were great at driving us to make sure that we were meeting with them and that we were focused on the project.

### FujiFilm Instax Mini 40 Launch

Consumer data showed that existing Instax cameras skewed towards children and young females, but new product launches/designs were targeting an older Gen Z / Millennial audience.Swerve was challenged to develop a PR strategy that would reach this audience and overcome the “Instax cameras are for kids” mentality in fresh, exciting ways.

### Nanit: Sleep Health Case Study

Secondary goal was to position Nanit as a parenting hub via its online community that provides information and insights from experts and parents,
The Insight and Strategy
Swerve positioned Nanit as a one-stop resource for parenting research, tools and advice. We capitalized on timely seasonal themes (ie.
