They started with a full brand discovery and gave us a clear creative brief. From there, they built two identity concepts, refined one, and delivered complete brand guidelines in a polished playbook. They created everything we needed for sales and marketing, including social media visuals, email and ad templates, a case study format, a slide deck template, and a custom capabilities deck. On the digital side, they reimagined our site architecture, built wireframes, designed homepage concepts, and delivered creative for twelve pages while working directly with our development team to bring it all to life.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

A brand refresh has ancillary components that are KPI driven and measurable, but our focus was on a renewed creative spirit and qualitative feedback from trusted clients and partners.

Working directly with Brendan and Drew made the whole process fast and simple. No endless layers. No overcomplication. We aligned on direction early, and the number of rounds it took to get to final concepts was well below what we scoped. That’s rare.

The work quality was strong from the first pass, but what stood out was how streamlined the process felt. Communication was direct. Decisions happened quickly. Costs stayed competitive because they run lean without cutting corners.

I’ve led multiple rebrands, and this was the smoothest by far. If you want sharp creative without the slow grind of a big agency, Sunup delivers.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed me most was the direct access to the founders throughout the project. You get senior-level thinking on every call, not just at kickoff. They combine speed with precision—moving quickly without sacrificing quality. That balance is rare, and it’s why the process felt so effortless.
 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Sunup could have done differently?

Honestly, nothing comes to mind. The experience was smooth from start to finish. If anything, I’d like to see ways we can keep the collaboration going. Because when a team delivers at this level, you want them involved in more projects, not fewer.

We worked with Sunup to rebrand Flightless Bird Creative to Flightless. We were looking for a new logo that retained some elements of our original brand with a more modern and cleaner approach. 

In addition to our logo, Sunup helped us with entirely new brand guidelines, which included typography, brand colors, logo guidelines, pitch deck mockups, and website mockups.

Sunup also helped us build an entirely new brand for Flightless' sister company, Concourse. We wanted it to feel connected to Flightless but have a unique look.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Flightless' new brand and website received very positive feedback. We were able to achieve a consistent brand identity across our website, social media platforms, and sales materials that we never had previously. Our new brand identity helped us appear higher-end and positioned us to win larger clients and jobs.

Sunup was very professional and organized with how they ran the project. The scope of work and timeline was clearly defined from the start, and they were consistently on time or early with milestones. They were responsive and thoroughly addressed any questions or feedback we had along the way.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed me the most about Sunup was their quality of work at a reasonable cost. We were expecting quality based on their previous work, but the professionalism and thoroughness of the final brand guidelines document we received went far beyond our expectations.  

Are there any areas for improvement or something Sunup could have done differently?

I don't have any negative feedback for Sunup. The entire experience was positive and we have worked with them on additional projects since then.

Yarrow is a residential real estate developer that buys, remodels and rents out historic homes at an attainable price commensurate with the area median income.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Sunup delivered a comprehensive brand system for Yarrow including a name, logo, messaging frameworks, website and physical brand collateral including building signs. All of these deliverables were informed by in-depth market research, landscape analysis, and persona research undertaken by Sunup during the initial phase of the project. Key deliverables included the following:

• Brand guidelines: 30-page interactive brand guidelines with detailed instructions regarding the consistent maintenance and application of the brand.
• Color palette and typography: A carefully selected color palette/typography informed by landscape analysis and allowing us to present a distinctive and refined image in a crowded real estate landscape.
• Name, Logo/logomark: Detailed naming process driven by creative ideation and research. 6 naming options were presented to a survey group reflective of our Ideal Tenant Composite and were assessed based on factors like Warmth, Memorability, Sophistication, Ownability and more. We selected the highest-scoring name, Yarrow, which Sunup then translated into a stunning logomark that repreents the "Y" in our name while also reflecting the plant after which the company is named.
• Website: Sunup created a custom site for Yarrow that elegantly synthesized our mission and created an attractive entry point to prospective tenants to learn more about the brand and consider renting with Yarrow.
• Ongoing Brand Support: Ad hoc items as needed following the launch of the brand, including the creation of Property 1-pagers and a Brand Pitch Deck.

5-star Google review in first year post brand launch; increased attention from investors and local media; exponential growth in social media following and engagement; acquisition of commercial real estate property in second year post brand launch

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Sunup was highly responsive throughout the process. What made the biggest difference for myself and my co-foudner is that our project requests were never delegated to a coordinator-level function with limited awareness of our project. Instead, we had direct access to the Senior Creatives who produced our deliverables for the entirety of the project. 
This allowed us to significantly expedite our process and be able to launch our brand several months ahead of when we'd initially projected. Further, my co-founder and I were consistently impressed by the depth to which Sunup understood our vision and how to translate that into a formal brand system. While Sunup created a welcoming environment to provide substantive feedback, we found we often had none to offer, since they nailed it the first time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I've worked with several different marketing and creative agencies over my career and what tends to underwhelm and frustrate me is the way high-level project work is passed off to junior team members and meaningful input from me is lost in translation.

With Sunup, my experience was 180 degrees from this. From Day 1 of the project to Brand Launch Day, I had the privilege of working only with seasoned creatives who not only deeply understood my vision, but had the depth of experience and skill to carry that vision into a brand far surpassed my expectations. 

Sunup are true creative collaborators, and they made the process of bringing my brand to life a joyful, and honestly moving, experience. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Sunup could have done differently?

I can't think of any, no.
