We are the UK's leading publisher of children's news content. Our products include a children's newspaper, a fully immersive app and Edtech products available to the schools market. I am the Marketing Director and cover the consumer and the schools division.

Post covid our acquisitions were dropping and in particular the our digital marketing channels were underperforming in comparison to previous years. We had secured more investment to step up our activity across these channels and we wanted to employ and expert to drive the best results for us.

Starlight showed great understanding of our market and provided a very considered and robust strategy for achieving our goals based on thorough research and analysis.

We tasked Starlight to deliver our required sales volume through Google and Bing advertising channels. We set a target CPA and which was approved by Starlight. Starlight proposed a range of activity with forecast of total sales and CPA. We worked with Starlight to select the most effective channels for our campaign - mostly paid search, discovery ads, shopping and performance max. Starlight also worked closely the marketing team and with our dev team on UX UI , customer journey and page optimisation.

We worked closely with the main strategist but also the digital marketing account exec and to a lesser extent the new social media expert.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Starlight helped double our CVR vs the previous year and increased sales by 95% vs previous period.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very effective workflow. Our main contact at Starlight was always available to answer questions and to provide support. Reporting was accurate, reliable and regular. Starlight drove our UX UI improvements and provided a very coherent narrative.

We found Starlight incredibly thorough and they were not afraid to challenge our ideas. They always backed their recommendations with very thorough analysis, which gave us confidence. They were also realistic in managing expectations

When we first started using starlight digital we were a very small business that had previously hired only 2 separate PPC managers. I was looking for someone to manage the account that had a lot of experience in this area and would really help grow the business.

We came across starlight by word of mouth. Someone close to me was using them as their PPC manager and still is to this day. With the positive feedback on starlight in mind I decided to sign up with them.

Starlight's job was to work a certain amount of hours per week on our Google Ads account and our Microsoft ads account. Tweaking and creating news ads as required. Each month a general report on the accounts performance would be created for us to review.
What was the team composition?
Starlight would generally work themselves on the account with little input from myself.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
On the last quarter before Starlight took charge of our account our conversion value/cost was at 2.47. After starlight started managing our account this increased to 2.75 in the 1st quarter of their management and total conversion numbers went from 1800 to 5300. A pretty staggering increase.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication between Steven and I was very good, he would always respond to my emails in a timely fashion and answer any questions or concerns I had.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I found their performance the most impressive thing. The improvement in our account was substantial, and this remained the same month on month.
Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?
Personally I can't think of anything that would need much improvement. I was happy with the communication between us, the cost and the overall performance.
