I'm the Founding Partner of a NYC-based software development company.

We were working with another software development partner for about two years. The relationship started to decline and I realized that it was time to move on. That's when a colleague of mine introduced me to Spericorn. We needed a partner we could rely on through the ups and downs.

Many outsourcing companies have a rampant problem with attrition. When working with a long-term partner, we need talented resources but we also value consistency in being able to work with the same ones again and again on new projects. We've been working with Spericorn for over five years now, and it has been a great relationship. Many of the same people have been there for years, which is great.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Based on the referral, we were willing to give Spericorn a try on a single project. They delivered on it very well. The project was well-estimated and planned from the beginning. The communication was clear and the work was very professional.

We finished 100% on time and on budget. I also had the opportunity to work closely with the founder and realized that he is very technically adept but also has great integrity. This is what lead us to continue the relationship with Spericorn, which has lasted all of these years.

We've worked with Spericorn on more than 15 projects since then. Many of them are full-stack Javascript (React, React Native, Node, Express) and there's also been some native iOS (Swift) and Android (Java) work in there as well. They also handle all of our UI/UX design QA testing work.

We've had as little as 1 and as many as 3-4 projects going on at a time. Each project might have 2-4 people working on it. There will usually be at least one frontend and one backend resource working on a project, with part-time design and QA resources.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Most all of our projects finish on time and on budget. We have a very high customer satisfaction rate and I attribute this to Spericorn. Several of our best clients have returned with new projects and/or referred new clients to us.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Sales conversations in Skype move to Slack once the project commences. Everything is planned in Excel and version control is on Github. We try to keep the projects Agile, with tight sprints and regular releases to the customer. The detailed estimates and planning is largely what keeps the projects on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Great founder and great staff. Everyone seems very committed to the company for the long-term. They value our business a lot and will always do the right thing by us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their UI/UX work has improved over the years and is one area where I think they can continue to improve. Design patterns change over time and it's important to keep up with the trends. I think they largely do a good job of this.

I have single-member LLC and I am the founder and president of that company. We’re a software development consulting firm and I’m a software development consultant myself. I hire software development outsourced talents to work on projects for me and then I just handle the management of those projects.

A few years ago, we were looking for an outsourcing software development partner, someone we can work with for a long period of time, not just one project.

They work with our UI/UX design projects. However, their main work involves web and mobile app development. The team also provides some quality assurance (QA) services.

What is the team composition?

The team composition varies depending on how many projects we have going at once. Sometimes, we have as little as 1–2 people working on a single project. We also could have five projects or more going on at the same time and we could have as many as 10–15 people. 

How did you come to work with Spericorn Technology Inc?

They were referred by a partner of mine who had also worked with them in a similar way in the past.

We’ve spent $100,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started collaborating in September 2018 and we still work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Spericorn Technology Inc provides a very high-quality service. I’ve worked with other partners from the same region before and they seem to be the most capable that I’ve ever worked with. They’ve been maintaining an excellent standard for their work. 

How did Spericorn Technology Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

One of the main reasons we are still working with them is because of their project management capabilities. We’ve had other partners where the resources were technically competent but they lacked in this area. Additionally, we communicate mostly on Slack and whenever necessary, we also do phone calls on Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I just like that there’s consistency in terms of the people who we are working with on our projects. I’m used to working with other outsource firms where there tends to be a lot of turnover. Usually, developers from other companies will only be there for a few months and then they’re gone. 

However, with Spericorn Technology Inc, the developers are on a long-term contract.  They’re great because you really get to know them on a personal level and work with them across all different projects as opposed to losing them halfway through one project. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s nothing major but sometimes you have to push a little bit to get things done. They’re very attentive but you have to be on top of the project at times. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would say get to know their founder and you’ll see that he’s a person who’s very technically capable but also a person with a lot of integrity. In that aspect, it goes a long way if you’re looking for a partner who’s someone you can really trust. 

When you speak with him, you really get to see his values and how they’re reflected in the company. Other than that, they have very qualified resources. It’s good to interview them upfront and know that you can benefit from the fact that they will be there for you for a long time.

Custom Software Development for multi sided platform that required top level expertise and execution.

What were your goals for this project?

To create a platform that was unique and have instant benefit to the user in line with our business. That used integrated database, software and management systems as well as specially designed custom platform to launch our business.

How did you select this vendor?

From lengthy research over a period of time we decided to build the platform. We had initially used a company in Australia to do the wireframe however it was apparent early on they didn’t have the expertise.

I posted an ad on Upwork and got too many responses, once I connected with Amith (Spericorn) I knew I wanted to work with him as he understood the complex nature of what we were trying to do whilst also suggesting better options etc ..

I then verified Spericorn by speaking with past clients across Australia, New Zealand & America and they all had nothing but great things to say about Amith and the service. In fact it was said more than once that Amith it a “Technological Genius” and I fully support that statement.

To build a complex multisided web platform from a basic wireframe provided. To provide any support needed with design, problem solving and also have offered further services such as ongoing IT support and staff etc

What was the team composition?

Spericorn dedicated a whole team to Halo with a specific team lead. The team lead and Amith have been contactable immediately over the whole process never taking more than a few hours to reply. We have built an amazing business relationship and I can’t fault them from development to service to overall experience.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This project is our business, so If it wasn’t excuses correctly we would not have a business and be not able to generate income. The impact Spericorn have had is to make our dreams a reality with being able to have support from a great experienced team.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Very professionally. I was very surprised initially about how detailed and mapped out everything was. It worked well as we got to mile stones we could review, make necessary changes or add ons and then move to the next mile stone. Very professional and great to manage the project for both parties.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their customer service and expertise. Absolutely second to none, I wouldn’t want to work with anyone else. Initially we were nervous spending large amounts of money with a company overseas as there is risk to it, but this whole experience has been one of the best business relationship experiences with Amith & Spericorn really doing everything they can to assist us.

They really care about their clients and go beyond to help them achieve their goals. Their work ethic is fantastic.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Honestly, I can’t fault them from my experience (especially comparing to the experience I had in Australia with the first basic part or this project). Working with Spericorn has been fantastic. If I was to suggest anything, it may not be an area for improvement necessarily but maybe a good business strategy to expand into Australia etc with an office (face to face) as I think Spericorn set a good example of service and expertise and they can raise the standard we have here in Aus
