Creations of a new POS frontend to Business Central for a large danish hardware store chain. Here we started with a blank piece of paper and ended up with a beautifull and userfriendly POS with enormeous functionality. SoftaCom did the graphical design, the prototyping, the programming of the GUI, developing of the intergration to BC etc.

• We have now rolled the POS out in 35 stores with 100 Point of Sales.
• From day 1 it worked almost perfectly and the customer is very happy.

SoftaCom are using agile development methods and we have bi-weekly Scrum meetings. We are using Jira and Confluence and our developers are intergrated with people from SoftaCom and we work as one team. SoftaCom has been fast in adding ressources as needed and also down scaling in periodes where needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

SoftaCom has been meticulous about the details and quality and has been quick to understand the specific requirements of our clients and our solution. They come up with suggestions and are challenging our approaches if they find them less than optimal. The POS solution we have build together from scratch for a specific customer is very impressive and went into production in 30 stores on the 2nd of january 2023 without hardly any issues at all.

The written communication in english writing is very good, but at the virtual meetings the english language can be challenging sometimes.

Agile practioners that focus on delivering value for our end customer. Very responsive to the needs and our ever changing requirements, definitely worked hard to meet timelines. Communication was regular as we had daily standups, along with regular strategy calls to ensure we were meeting our goals.

Professionalism at every level of the company, from the president to the PM to the developers and testers. I appreciate their commitment to software craftsmanship and delivering value to the customer. They are able to staff an entire team (architect/developers/testers) or a team of one developer.

They are open to pushing the boundaries and applying modern development techniques to old systems. It is the level of developers that I have hired onshore, but cannot find in large enough quantities, especially in the legacy languages. They have the in house expertise for both legacy technologies and modern, which is perfect for our initiatives. Truly value their partnership in our journey.

The project consisted in migration of Delphi 5 software project to Delphi 10. The code source of this project contained about 800000 code lines. There were the following deliverables: calculation dlls migration, general user interface migration, modeling migration, communication migration, overall tests and debug.

The project management was very good, with a quick feedback and attention to our needs. All the milestones were achieved on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

"Softacom successfully migrated our large Delphi 5 application (near 800 000 lines) to Delphi 10. This application controls physical instruments sold by our company to universities, research centers, and industries all over the world. The software includes hardware control, LAN communication, math calculations, database, GUI.

The project consisted of different software modules migration (calculation, GUI, communication, business logic, database management, etc.) of our application from Delphi 5 to the Delphi 10 platform.

Softacom team thoroughly studied our source code, proposed a migration schedule, and followed it with assurance, providing us prompt feedback. Now we have the opportunity to continue to develop our software and ensure to respond to the customers' requirements.

During the project duration, Softacom developers have shown excellent professional skills, a deep understanding of our constraints, high-quality communication. I greatly appreciate their outstanding performance in our project migration, thank them for the amazing work done and look forward to working with them on future projects.

Managing the project was done with a few online software tools to keep track of tasks and modeling of the system architecture, data flows and the relationships between entities. We held quick status update meetings twice a week to address issues, answer questions and make trajectory corrections.
