The workflow agreed was that a fairly complex page of the site will be redesigned in the first milestone. This was planned as a test for the contractor to see if they can figure out a good looking design for this rather complex page - we agreed that failign this step would terminate the contract. Agreed right away that multiple iterations will be needed. After a few iterations we ended up with a great design for the page and continued on with the remaining milestones (lists of pages to be redesigned and finnaly the HTML/CSS/JS implementations of the created designs)

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We had 6 designs milestones and 1 milestone for the HTML deliverable. I've defined what is expected in each of them and got periodic updates/requests for feedback about them (did one at a time). After a few iterations, a milestone would get closed and we'd move to the next one. IMHO a fair and structured approach.

Any delays were communicated clearly and early on. Overall, the updates came in often, and I could always know about the current state of the project. Feedback from my side was rather quick, so I would get updates/fixes quickly as well—I'm very happy with their communication.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was really impressed by the end result. I was expecting a modern, though probably quite generic design (given that quite a few pages had to be done), but after a few iterations, the final product was not only a "good design" but also beautiful and kind of felt unique/tailored for my specific project—I was amazed.

We had a slight misunderstanding regarding defined scope at one point, but after a bit of back and forth conversations it was cleared up and fully resolved.

What challenge were you trying to address with MassMedia Group?
Our company is constantly growing and innovating, so we decided to create MyMyCars to go digital and help simplify our clients’ search for cars. We also wanted to provide a safe way for clients to buy and sell cars.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
MassMedia Group created our web platform from scratch. Their involvement has included front- and backend development, design, and QA services. We only provided the content for the website, and they took care of creating the platform to place said content. We’re still working together, specifically on developing minor features and improving the overall platform.
On this platform, users can buy new or used cars and create listings to sell their cars. Among other technologies, they've used PHP, NodeJS, and VueJS.
What is the team composition?
I mostly communicate with the project and account managers. Additionally, several frontend and backend developers, designers, and testers are working on our project. We had a strategy session at the beginning of the project where we also communicated with the developers, but I know that the team has changed.
How did you come to work with MassMedia Group?
We were looking for a web development partner that was responsive and communicative. Additionally, we decided to choose a local company, so we searched on Google for all the IT companies in our city.
We had interviews with different companies and selected four that we were interested in working with. Ultimately, we chose MassMedia Group, and we heard good feedback about them from friends of ours.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our project started in June 2020, but we started working with MassMedia Group in October 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
MyMyCars ranks among the top five automobile marketplaces in Ukraine regarding the number of postings and registered users. Our platform became really popular because our solution is easy to use and works smoothly and reliably. People want to buy and sell cars there.
We have over 140,000 users and almost 60,000 active publications, which are quite good results for us. All of this is possible thanks to the reliable and scalable website that MassMedia Group created.
How did MassMedia Group perform from a project management standpoint?
MassMedia Group’s team delivers on time and within the budget while preserving the high quality of the software. They’re also very flexible to our requests and do their best to fulfill our wishes. For example, we wanted to expand the team to get faster results for one instance, and they made it happen.
I’m completely satisfied with their project management. We’re always in touch, and we have an easygoing collaboration. We have regular phone calls, but we mainly communicate through Slack and Telegram.
What did you find most impressive about them?
MassMedia Group is proactive and reliable, and they’re always ready to dive deep into our business to solve our problems. Additionally, they always try to provide different solutions for us so that we can choose the best one. They always give us options to choose from and try to forecast how a certain solution will work. They don’t just focus on the technical stuff but also on our business success.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’m completely satisfied with their services, so it’s difficult to find something that they could do better.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
From our experience, it’s very important to find the right team to be responsible for your product. If you want the development process to run smoothly, you need to provide quality and timely feedback to the development team. I would also recommend you organize your in-house team so that they can work effectively with your software development partner.

I'm the owner and managing director of financial company, which provides debt collection services in various markets.

For what projects/services did your company hire MassMedia Group, and what were your goals?
We needed to develop internal CRM-like system for our employees (call centre agents and operators) to use to manage accounts. All daily work should be done in that system.

How did you select MassMedia Group and what were the deciding factors?
We chose the vendor based on their experience, proposed solution, cost and also certain previous experience with them.

We had a number of iterations, as the product is constantly in development and improvement process. Initially we had several kick-offs, and we have provided our scope and technical description of what is needed. First version was developed and launched in production within several months, and since then we have monthly deliveries of new features, improvements and updates, which expand scope. The system is web-based, so PHP and SQL are key technologies there, along with some side-modules that allow integrations with external service providers, such as call centre software, credit bureau, payment systems, etc.

We were working with 2-3 different project managers over the course of the project, as well as there were couple of developers behind.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were able to manage our workflow in really organized way. It is difficult to provide measurable improvement, as we had no comparable system before, but in general - we have reached our goals

Typically we used Skype and Jire for communication and planning, as well as monthly reporting on deliveries and well as time/resource spent, together with initial estimates for those tasks. We do not have regular catch-ups, as work process is constantly rolling, and we are communicating with PMs on ad-hoc basis. Communication is very responsive and we enjoy that we don't have too bureaucratic rules for communication.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their non-technical approach to projects - They try to understand your business needs and then evolve solutions around that.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Sometimes testing and workload estimations could be done better, but that also improves overtime.
