We don’t have any hard metrics because the work is not completed, but every time we meet with them, we’re glad that we've decided to partner with them. They bring lots of technical knowledge and have been able to find a balance between providing what we want and pushing us forward.
How did Simelabs perform from a project management standpoint?
Even though there is a time difference, we have been able to meet with them consistently. Our project manager has impressed us; he is very involved and does a great job translating our needs to the developers. They ensure that we’re organized, and their team has a lot of knowledge about our industry.
This project has been complex, but they’ve done a great job. We communicate via WhatsApp, phone calls, and emails. The team is highly responsive and communicative.

Our marketing department runs five national events to recruit new students, and we were looking to scale each event. We engaged Logiticks to help us build websites for four of those five events.

Logiticks developed the backends of four event websites. Each site provides event information, processes payments, and tracks registration. Other key features include an interactive map and sending automatic responses. We created the frontends in HTML and CSS while they built the backends using JavaScript and SQL.

What was the scope of their involvement?
The platform uses remote sensors, gateways, and a web-based portal to display data. Logiticks developed the backend server and web interface, as well as a mobile application. The team used Microsoft Azure and .NET.

We work with four developers.
How did you come to work with Logiticks?
I found them on Upwork after testing eight offshore software development companies. Logiticks performed the best.

We started working together in September 2015 and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Quick platform updates are crucial for our business. They have been great at helping us meet that goal. The team’s scheduling estimates are highly accurate.
How did Logiticks perform from a project management standpoint?
Communication was effective for both weekly calls and face-to-face interactions. We used Trello to update tasks and track progress.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of program management at HELLA, a German manufacturer of automotive components. To promote road safety in India, I decided to walk from the country’s southernmost point to its northernmost point.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Logiticks?
We needed someone to develop a website and mobile apps that would track me on my walk and help promote our cause.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
To start the project, one of my team members from Logiticks walked with me for several days to better understand how they could help. From there, they developed a website and mobile applications that tracked my coordinates using GPS. I wore a GPS watch, but the manufacturer wouldn’t allow us to publish the data for legal reasons. Logiticks found a solution though, extracting and mapping the data and putting it on our website themselves. They monitored the servers during my walk, ensuring everyone could access the data, and linked our website to both my personal website and Facebook page.
What is the team composition?
I interacted directly with 4–5 people. One person was responsible for the web content, two people handled mapping and tracking, and another two people coordinated activities in different towns along my route. They also published that information on our site. There was a backend team as well, but I’m not familiar with its size.
How did you come to work with Logiticks?
We contacted 3–4 other companies, but they were more interested in event management than technical development, focusing on growing shares, clicks, and popularity. Logiticks offered lean and clean execution, which is exactly what we wanted.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $50,000–$70,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from June until November 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our website encouraged people to walk with me, and while our goal was to reach 10 million steps, we finished quite close to 1 billion steps. Awareness exploded.
How did Logiticks perform from a project management standpoint?
They delivered on time and in line with what we wanted. One or two times the servers didn’t work properly, but they hopped on a call in the middle of the night to get it up and running again. While they were fixing it, they would ask for my exact location and update the website manually.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They took ownership of the project, marketing us as a humanitarian cause that tugged on people’s hearts.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not that I saw. We plan on using them for all our projects moving forward.
