We have generally communicated through biweekly virtual meetings, a shared Slack channel, and documents, which has worked well for us.

We engaged with them a little on UI / UX design, but found this to be a weaker area of their services. They were pretty upfront about this, however. We have spent a few cycles on QA. While Scaltech said they performed QA and gave the application to other their teammates for testing, we have found many bugs ourselves. They have been very responsive at fixing them, but I wish they were more proactive in finding them.

The aim was to develop a mobile app for IOS on which users can upload short videos and these are then played against other videos. It was important here that the videos created by users are played immediately and that there is no delay. A complex admin area was required for administration and monitoring. It was also important that videos with sensitive content were automatically filtered out.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We had a functional prototype relatively quickly, with which we were able to test the concept. That was good, as we had to test the idea first due to a limited budget before we could invest more. Thanks to the quick MVP, we were able to confirm the theory and convince investors to finance the full development and also knew immediately where we still needed to make adjustments.

Through weekly meetings and regular status updates, we were always able to monitor and intervene in the process. Deadlines were almost always met and everything was great.

As soon as a problem arose or we were dissatisfied, everything was set in motion to ensure that we were satisfied and our problems were solved. We were impressed with the commitment of their employees, as they were able to step in at the weekend if necessary to meet our deadlines.
Are there any areas for improvement or something ScaleTech Solutions could have done differently?
The only problem you can mention is the cultural difference from time to time. In the German market, we place a lot of emphasis on accuracy and quality, whereas Scaletech prioritises working solutions and speed. However, with coordinated cooperation, the issue of QA is manageable and speeds up the process enormously. However, if you expect to get a perfect app without doing anything yourself, you have to look at yourself first before you look for someone else to blame
