What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
This review is from what is likely Robomate's largest client to date. We have gone through the full lifecycle of cooperation - from active development to a complete termination of the relationship.
At first, the team made a positive impression: communication was good, they were eager to dive into tasks, and overall behavior was professional and ethical. We worked together based on total trust, with no budget caps or technical oversight from our side.
After a year and a half, major execution issues became clear. Deadlines and development costs consistently went far beyond initial estimates. Despite this, the team flatly refused to take any responsibility for future budgets or timelines.
As a result, we decided to move part of the workload to our in-house developers and reduce Robomate’s monthly budget, and the attitude to us changed immediately and became openly hostile.
Disregarding the terms of our existing contract, they nearly doubled their hourly rates (for example, charging $35 for a first-year junior), justifying it by their deep involvement in the project's context. In fact they gave us an ultimatum: if we did not accept these new terms, the team would abandon the project immediately. We saw this as an exploitation of our dependency on them, so we decided to terminate their services entirely after a transitional month, during which we had to pay these increased rates.
Immediately after learning of our decision, the company began publicly promoting their services in the same domain using developments created during our project, thereby violating a contractual clause that explicitly prohibits such activities for a period of two years.
Worse yet, these promotional activities on LinkedIn were hidden from us but visible to everyone else - a clear sign of a deliberate and calculated breach of our agreement.
Summary: We do not recommend working with Robomate. Their immature operational approach is the core issue: the team avoids any responsibility, treats agreements as optional, and doesn’t seem to value their reputation.
We’d also be cautious about joining Robomate as an employer - such a management style leads to lost clients, so the job is likely unstable.

The project management was immature. Development and implementation exceeded both the estimated budget and deadlines multiple times. Despite these systemic delays, the team categorically refused to commit to any specific schedules or budgets, even for tasks with a clearly measurable scope of work.

Initially, we were impressed by their energy and eagerness to dive into tasks. However, this was overshadowed by failing to take responsibility and the calculated misuse of our trust at the end of the project.

Areas for Improvement: 1) Accountability for Results: The team consistently exceeded budgets and timelines, yet categorically refused to commit to any schedules and budgets.
2) Contractual Integrity: They should have respected the agreed-upon rates instead of issuing ultimatums and doubling their fees when the workload is reduced.
3) Professional Ethics: They must follow non-compete clauses. Immediately promoting a competing activity using deliverables from our project was a direct breach of our agreement, which directly prohibits doing this for 2 years.
4)Transparency: Deliberately hiding LinkedIn promotional activity from us while keeping it public for the rest of the market was a major red flag and a profound breach of trust.
