Revvnue provides digital marketing services for a SaaS technology company. Their work involves website development, SEO, social media and email marketing, and CRM integration support.
The company’s business processes are more efficient now, and their online ranking is improving. Their website is intuitive, and more people are signing up to try their services. Revvnue understands the client’s goals and leverages this understanding to deliver results and meet expectations.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of a SaaS technology company. We have a software platform that connects different users; it’s essentially a conferencing and collaboration platform. We work on different types of smart glasses that allow people to make and receive calls. They can also start video sessions through the glasses.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Revvnue?
We’ve engaged Revvnue to do marketing work; we wanted to improve our marketing campaigns, social media presence, and SEO ranking. Previously, we were doing our marketing efforts in-house, but we didn’t have the internal expertise to do it.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
In the beginning, Revvnue created a new website for us that highlighted our company and software. They worked to make it user-friendly and intuitive.
At present, we’ve been engaging them to run our LinkedIn campaigns, helping us build brand awareness. We also use Facebook and Twitter, but our main focus is on LinkedIn. The team also does analysis for specialty keywords applicable to our industry, software, and business. Moreover, they develop copy for our blog posts; their resources also create white papers, brochures, and other collateral that we can send to customers or prospects.
We’ve also been doing email campaigns with them. They create email copy, and then we edit it if needed. We’re using another third-party service provider to provide them the types of emails we want to send out, and they coordinate everything with that provider. Further, Revvnue has onboarded us to SharpSpring, a CRM platform that helps us track everything that’s being done. We can also keep all of our conversations through it. This way, we can see how leads are converted and closed into a sale. Everything is automated and monitored.
One of our recent projects involves developing a free plan for our subscription service. This plan doesn’t require subscribers to input their credit card information as they try our platform. The idea is that if they like the platform, they’ll turn into a paying customer. The Revvnue team has pushed this project forward, and we’re now using it as a call to action. Our team also uses this project as a subtle marketing tool.
What is the team composition?
We work with Aubrey (Account Manager) and Oliver (Founder & CEO), who is actively involved in directing our strategy and creating more complex copy required in the projects. Our team also collaborates with Stephanie (President), and she handles everything related to social media, SEO, keyword analysis, and market research. Moreover, they have a team of people behind the scenes that supports them with visuals and videos.
How did you come to work with Revvnue?
I worked with Oliver through one of his previous companies. At that time, I liked the work that his team did. I’d lost contact with him for a few years. Then, when I was expressing my need to improve our marketing campaigns, a mutual associate of ours mentioned that Oliver started another company. After that, I reached out to Oliver.
I knew how Oliver worked, his mindset, and their company culture. That was important for us. As a technology company, we had to move fast and everything had to gel well; our counterparts should understand the pace at which we moved. Given this, Oliver met with me and discussed the services we needed and our goals. From there, we started our engagement.
How much have you invested with them?
We have a retainer of $5,000 per month with Revvnue.
What is the status of this engagement?
We engaged them in May 2021, and the relationship is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Internally, we have a good process in place because of the CRM we’re using. Our salespeople can track all of the leads coming from our website, email campaigns, and LinkedIn efforts. That’s a huge benefit for us because we can’t keep up with all the activities we do on a day-to-day basis. Overall, their CRM has given us a consolidated view of everything.
Externally, we’re seeing more leads. The website that Revvnue has created is simple and easy to understand. Even though we’re a complex software platform, people know what we do because all information on the website is easily digestible. Moreover, our user engagement rate has gone up, too. We’re seeing continuous progress — slowly but surely, we’re seeing improvements in the way we rank. More people are also becoming more interested and signing up to be introduced to our platform.
How did Revvnue perform from a project management standpoint?
Revvnue’s project management is great. We’ve had to transition from one project manager to another, and we usually lose momentum in the interim. However, the team goes back on track quickly as they make sure we have everything we need. We absolutely hit our targets.
Apart from SharpSpring, we don’t use any project management tools between our teams. We only use Google Spreadsheets to list all activities and plans we have. To communicate, we mostly use emails. We also have meetings when we have to address any questions or provide them with additional information. Our weekly meetings also touch on the activities we have lined up for the week and the things we want to accomplish for the month.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s easy to work with Revvnue’s team because they completely engage with us to understand what we need. We have no long, drawn-out, and confusing discussions. They’re good at what they do, and they’ve been able to meet our expectations. Other companies don’t have the same culture in terms of understanding our technology. Overall, Revvnue’s knowledge, strategy, and ideas are impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Our needs are growing as a company, and we have a limited engagement with Revvnue. If we have a bigger budget, we can probably gain more time allocation from them for our account. Until that point, we have to manage with what they can do for us in one month.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Develop a plan jointly with Revvnue for your goals and stick to it. That’s the best way to see returns without getting sidetracked. Don’t distract the team from doing their tasks for a month so that they can allocate the right resources and time to meet deadlines.
For context, our company moves quickly and has to accommodate great demands from our customers. As a result, we usually have additional pieces of work for the Revvnue resources. Sometimes, the processes get so fast that we have to shift things around even though we have a plan in place.
