What challenge were you trying to address with Pynest?

We needed to find a team that had experience putting multi-agent systems into production. Our client, a global research and scientific publishing group, ran a core go-to-market workflow that took about two weeks to complete. Almost all of the process was manual document work. Their own prototypes had never reached production because they had no audit trail and couldn't meet the privacy rules in their sector.

Their work has covered an orchestration layer rebuilt on LangGraph, agent memory, multi-stage preprocessing, document summarization, and anonymization so that no identifying information reaches the models. On top of that, they've built three autonomous workflows with a review layer, where one model checks another's output, and a person approves the result before anything counts as final. They've also improved the client's semantic search.

The workflow that took about two weeks now takes about two days. Manual final reviews are down by a factor of three. The client's team now approves output instead of rebuilding it, and those numbers have held since the go-live.

We work as one team with daily stand-ups, and Pynest runs a demo every two weeks. The scope grew partway through the project when a new workflow was added. The team has re-planned around it without turning it into a dispute. They've also gone through the security and privacy review without treating it as an obstacle.

Pynest has made the platform auditable. Every output can be traced back through the steps that produced it. The compliance review has come down to showing the trail instead of asking for an exception. That is what got it released, when the existing own prototypes never were.

Pynest worked with one team at our client, the reconciliation group. They built AI into the two workflows that the team runs every day: reviewing cases by hand and drafting the documents that come out of them. Keeping it to one team was deliberate. The people involved were skeptical, and a few were worried about being replaced, so the work had to start from their actual cases.

Each person on that team saved up about 16 hours a week. After a first rollout that couldn't show anything, our client now has a figure they can take to their leadership, and a team that uses the tools without being told to.

Overall performance of this pipeline has increased by more than 7 percent, and now we can handle an infinite number of user subscriptions. Additionally, the Pynest team created new internal UI tools for our managers to directly interact with these backend microservices; therefore, saving a lot of time for our managers. 

Our UI, with which users interact, has been improved as much as possible. In the end, we no longer need to worry about these microservices for a very long time, since all their parts are impeccably improved. How effective was workflow between your team and theirs? The Pynest team implemented and refactored the codebase with high standards regarding code style, architecture, and performance. Additionally, the team left plentiful documentation inside our entire codebase itself and wrote documentation files for each microservice to describe how the particular microservice works and for what purposes it was created. 

They also left documentation for the whole pipeline of 8 microservices and external services with descriptions of how they communicate with each other, and what the input of this pipeline is, and what the output is for our users (after processing the user’s subscription). 

So, our developers can easily dig into the codebase and fully understand it through reading corresponding documentation files and comments inside the codebase. This is the best part of our pipeline right now in terms of the codebase, and our developers even use it as a standard in their own work.
