Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Preux was brought in to help us evolve our MVP into a fully designed, scalable, cross-platform healthcare staffing solution. Their scope included end-to-end UX design, product strategy, user research, and visual identity.
Key deliverables included:
-Clinician-Facing Mobile App: Designed from scratch and iterated through multiple versions into a production-ready, growth-stage product.
-Recruiter/Admin Platform Design: Delivered cohesive UX for staffing workflows, credentialing, payments, and operational tooling.
-User Research & Workflow Mapping: Conducted interviews, research sessions, and internal workshops to inform user flows and product logic.
-Design System & Rebrand: Led a full visual overhaul, including branding, tone of voice, and a scalable component library in Figma.
-Team and Process Development: Helped shape our internal product and UX team structure, advised on senior design hires, and introduced new product and design methodologies we’ve continued to use.
Their engagement went far beyond UI/UX delivery — they helped us mature as a product organization.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Preux’s work directly contributed to significant improvements in both product quality and internal capability. Key outcomes included:
-Improved Activation & Retention: Post-redesign, we saw a measurable increase in clinician onboarding and engagement within the mobile app — a direct result of more intuitive flows and clearer UX.
-Accelerated Product Velocity: With Preux’s design system and research-driven workflows in place, our internal teams were able to ship faster and with greater confidence.
-Stronger Cross-Platform Consistency: Before Preux, our user experience varied widely across tools. After their work, we had a unified design language and coherent UX across mobile, credentialing, and recruiter tools.
-Organizational Maturity: Perhaps most significantly, they helped us level up internally — introducing repeatable design and research practices, influencing hiring, and setting us up for long-term scale.
Their impact was visible not only in product metrics, but in how our teams operated after their engagement.
Time to Submission: Reduction in recruiter time to identify, verify, and submit candidates.
Design Velocity: Number of features delivered using the new pattern library post-rollout.
User Satisfaction: Positive UX feedback in usability tests and App Store ratings.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Preux brought structure, clarity, and adaptability to the project. Their communication was always clear and timely, and they stayed focused on progress even when priorities shifted or timelines evolved — which is inevitable in a growing product organization.
What stood out most was how seamlessly they integrated with our internal team. They didn’t feel like an external agency — they felt like part of our team. Their responsiveness, collaborative style, and willingness to jump into the messy middle of product work made them incredibly easy to work with.
They were thoughtful partners who balanced strategic guidance with hands-on delivery, and they consistently brought value beyond just the immediate tasks at hand.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What impressed me most about Preux was their ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels — without ever losing sight of the user or the business goals. They weren’t just delivering design screens; they were helping shape product direction, internal team structure, and long-term design practices.
Their team consistently brought a high level of thoughtfulness, humility, and craft. They asked the right questions, challenged assumptions when needed, and introduced new ways of thinking that elevated not just the product — but our entire approach to building it.
Also, the fact that they could integrate so seamlessly with our internal team made the partnership feel effortless. It’s rare to find an external partner who feels like a true extension of your company — but that’s exactly what Preux became.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Preux could have done differently?
As with any fast-moving project, there were moments where clearer upfront alignment on scope or timelines might have helped reduce some friction later on. That said, the team was always open to feedback and quick to adjust as things evolved.
If anything, I would have welcomed even more proactive pushback or challenging of assumptions earlier in the process — their perspective was always sharp, and leaning into that even more could’ve added additional value.
But overall, any challenges were minor and handled well. The experience was overwhelmingly positive.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
The product we built with the Preux team is a SaaS platform for nurse and healthcare staffing, including a web app, a mobile app, and a marketing site. The product features in-house recruiting tools that allow recruiters and administrators to navigate the field of the available talent and allocate staff to positions where they'll be more satisfied and best fit their skills. It also offers a talent facing piece that allows workers to choose what roles they're most interested in, and allows them to factor in their preferences for finding roles they wish to fill.
Our first few versions of the application was driven by MVP requirements, and engineers were left to style the app to whatever was easiest. This made the app functional enough, but certainly had no UI or UX design involved. As we worked with Preux, we used their UI designs and new UX flows to greatly improve how users felt about the product, enhancing both the look and how it worked for users.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
During our engagement with Preux:
- Our bounce rate dropped significantly, leading to many more user signups.
- The app became easier to use based on their designs. This led to us getting many fewer support calls because the prompts and flows made more sense and were easier for users to understand how to do what they needed to do.
- The quality of their designs allowed our developers to spend more time implementing and less time figuring out what to implement, speeding up our development cycle time.
- Our brand became more recognizable, and we found we got more word-of-mouth traffic once we implemented the branding they came up with for us.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Preux delivered evreything we asked for on-time or early every single time in the 4 years that I interacted with them. They were very flexible on feedback as well as did their own research and made proposals for further improvements. When we needed to pivot from one part of the product to another, they pivoted right along with us. Sometimes, we had to shelve projects only to have them come back 8+ months later, and the Preux team would hop right back into the old topic as if we'd never paused it. They brought us what we needed when we needed it. If our needs shifted, they stayed on pace with us as we moved.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I think what was most impressive was the dedication to seeing our goals come to life. I didn't immediately realize that our Preux team members were not internal staff when I first joined this company 4 years ago. They were so integral to the team, so up on every detail, so necessary to the health and success of both the product and the company that I was surprised to learn they were technically part of a different company. The Preux team helped move the product forward in a way that only someone who cares about a product can do. They weren't just a blackbox service we tossed our requirements at and later received designs churned out, they were team members who care about the product's success as much as we do, and that dedication shone through their work. They captured the nuance of what we're doing and truly understood the needs of our users.
I never felt like our Preux team members had one foot out the door or were busy on other contracts. I think that's rare in the contracting world.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Preux could have done differently?
No, we really had a great experience working with Preux, and I'd be ecstatic to work with them again in any role or capacity.
