I am the CFO and office manager at Custom Canvas Works.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ambidextrous Services?

We were looking for a company to redo our outdated website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ambidextrous Services developed a new website for us from a previously constructed template. We provided Ambidextrous Services with an idea of what we wanted from the site — it was just a general description of the feel we wanted, nothing specific.

Ambidextrous Services then provided us with a concept based on our input. They created custom content for us and installed an online payment system for our customers.

We had several meetings with their team, going back and forth on what we wanted to change, update, what we liked, and what we didn’t like. They quickly applied those changes and then set a website launch date.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 2–3 teammates, including Anya (CEO).

How did you come to work with Ambidextrous Services?

Ambidextrous Services created our original site, so we went back to work with them when we needed to redo and update it.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $2,000–$3,000 with Ambidextrous Services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Ambidextrous Services from April–October 2019

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve gotten a lot of feedback from our staff about how easy it is to use the new website — our sales team can now show potential customers our website to showcase our products and services.

We don’t track website traffic, but we are very confident in our website and are happy to send potential customers to it.

How did Ambidextrous Services perform from a project management standpoint?

We never had to wait for deliverables from Ambidextrous Services — we were generally the ones who were slow.

Their team used an online tracking tool to keep track of the project — they tracked what had to be done, who was in charge of the next step, and where we were in the project process. We could pull up the tracker at any time and see what we were waiting on and what the Ambidextrous Services team was currently working on.

We communicated via email and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was very impressed with how the Ambidextrous Services team communicated — they responded quickly whenever I reached out to them with a request. The quality of their work was also very good.

Overall, their customer service was great — they were very good at explaining everything.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would’ve been nice if they provided us with training on how to use the website — we aren’t very good at updating the website ourselves or using the different tools that are already available.

We’ve requested several meetings with their team to help us navigate certain aspects of the new website, and they were happy to help us. However, it would have been nice to have initially known what exactly we could've updated and changed ourselves on the website.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Potential customers need to put as much as they can into the project — Ambidextrous Services can only work with what they have in front of them. Customers need to be ready to give Ambidextrous Services everything they have and be prepared to work with it.

I’m president & CEO of ETI Environmental. We primarily do government work, as well as Fortune 500 companies, for industrial and commercial pressure washing.

We needed to have a website made for the business (which we hadn’t started yet), and help with advertising.

They connected me with resources in the industry, sent me to conventions to learn, and helped me get into some associations, to help me fully understand the business I was starting. They also directed me to proper sites for OSHA requirements, etc.

They built two websites; one when we first started the company, and later, another that was customized to the space we were settling into as we became more established. They currently do our advertising. We brainstorm and develop ideas collaboratively.

I primarily work with Anya (Owner).
