I am the CEO of Plantfully Systems, an organic, plant-based supplements business.

When we started Plantfully Systems, we tried several different approaches to marketing but were unsure of how to structure these into a comprehensive strategy. We knew we needed help with this in order to move forward. We brought Passionfruit Creative on to help us design a sustainable marketing strategy.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online and also evaluated outreach from several different marketing agencies before selecting Passionfruit Creative. We chose Passionfruit Creative for their can-do attitude and sustainability focus.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We worked closely with Jules, one of the co-founders of Passionfruit Creative, on our mission, goals, brand, and offers. Jules then did some research and built for us a preliminary plan to test some digital marketing tactics for a few weeks, which he and his team measured for effectiveness. After the first month, we reevaluated together and he built out the next version of the plan, and so forth. Jules and his team also developed automated emails for Mailchimp, which use our tone of voice and help us connect better with our customers.

All of the resources Jules presented worked for us as they were simple and tailored to our capabilities and time constraints.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since engaging with Passionfruit Creative, we have a much better handle on our digital marketing and understand how to automate much of it. Our sales have also increased measurably since engaging with Jules and his team.

We had a bi-weekly check-in via Zoom and almost constant email communication during this project. The Passionfruit Creative team was never too far away when we had questions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their personal touch was exactly what we needed.

I think they could have done a bit more competitive research at the beginning of this project.

I’m the general manager of Vitarock, and we’re an e-commerce marketplace focused on the wellness sector.

What challenge were you trying to address with Passionfruit Creative?

We were looking for a social media marketing partner who understood the sustainable and ethical space. We’re a certified B Corporation and a 1% for the Planet member, so it was important to find someone interested in making the planet a better place.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Passionfruit Creative is taking over our social media marketing. They’re investing in understanding our brand voice and the authority we have previously established to take it to the next level and target our ideal audience, which are groups that value and respond to impact business and ethical products and goods.

After explaining our objectives, their team easily pivoted into our business and understood the goals and the scope of what we needed. Consequently, we’ve been able to collaboratively create a project for them to take on, which is marketing content strategies in Facebook, Instagram, and vertical videos. Their efforts also include email marketing, blog content creation, and other tasks — they have an extremely versatile skill set.

We’ve spent about $15,000 with them so far.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve exceeded my expectations at every level; we’ve noticed increased engagement. Also, the content they provide is excellent, and they’ve demonstrated their knowledge of our niche, which is well thought out.

How did Passionfruit Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re able to communicate with us very well and pivot changes to social marketing and how the different social media platforms have evolved, and I’m delighted with that. They’ve also created a helpful calendar for content creation, which helps us engage with our audience. In terms of tools, we use emails and monthly meetings to review our progress.

Overall, I’m delighted with their ability to manage the project; they’re extremely professional and have a ton of experience in their work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their marketing strategy is outstanding. They completely understand impact business, which is challenging to find among providers, but it’s valuable for companies like us to have someone that aligns with our sustainability mandate. Also, they’re very approachable and get my target audience as consumers, so that makes them the perfect partner for us.

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — they’re doing a great job with our project, and I’d highly recommend them.

I’m the CEO, founder, and product innovator of MYO Cosmetic Cases. We sell refill-reuse cosmetic cases to professional makeup artists and everyday makeup users who are mindful of cosmetic consumption and have a minimalist routine.

What challenge were you trying to address with Passionfruit Creative?

As a B Corp certified company, we operated with the highest environmental and social consciousness in all the decisions we made. Given that, I wanted to infuse more sustainability-focused content into my website’s copy. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Passionfruit worked on three of our main web pages, which were the Pro, Eco, and Impact pages. They initially sent me a proposal of what they were going to do, and then they provided copywriting services. The team also sent me creative drafts of designs that I could use if I wanted. Those designs were a bonus and weren't originally a part of the project.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Christine (Creative Director & Co-Founder), and she provided us the copywriting services we needed for our main pages.

They were also a B Corp certified company, and I found them through a directory. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $800. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement lasted from March–April 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I liked the pages that Passionfruit created; they were well done. Moreover, the team was very easy to work with and had great communication. They provided the outcomes that I was looking for, so I’d definitely work with them again. On top of that, I’d be super happy to recommend them to others. 

How did Passionfruit Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

In terms of project management, they were very efficient and easy to work with. They were also excited about the project, which was great. Moreover, we were grateful for the proposal they submitted. Other companies would let us know what they’d do, but they wouldn’t send a proposal. By doing that, Passionfruit showed that they truly understood our company and that they were able to provide what we needed. 

In terms of communication, we mainly used email, but we also had some Zoom calls. Overall, it was a great experience working with them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their great communication was the best part of working with them. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

If we’d touched base one more time before I received the final edits, some of our messaging would have been tighter. However, this was my responsibility in some way; I didn’t reach out to them to refocus a few things. I just took what they gave, but they would’ve been able to tighten the messaging easily if I had reached out. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Passionfruit is a B Corp certified company. They’re both environmentally and socially conscious, and they can fuse that with their copywriting. As a result, if you’re a sustainability-focused business, they’re a great company to hire.

I have a business called Delilah Home, and we are in the organic and sustainable home textile space. We went from being a startup to becoming a small company. Though COVID-19 has affected our country and many businesses, we are at the winning end of it because people have been staying home and upgrading their belongings. They’ve also begun to think more about sustainability and all the chemicals that are brought into their home.

We offer sustainable products that people use on a daily basis, whether it’s for sleeping, taking a shower, or wrapping up. Our towels and bedsheets are made of either 100% organic cotton or 100% organic hemp.

What challenge were you trying to address with Passionfruit Creative?

My company is relatively new, so I needed someone to manage my social media pages and website. Passionfruit Creative came in and offered their services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Right now, Passionfruit Creative manages my social media platforms. Because our customers are in the older demographic, around 35–64 years old, we focus on Facebook and Instagram. We also do a bit on Twitter and dabble in Pinterest.

They did an initial audit on my profiles and have put together a strategy where we execute a social media content calendar. The team does lifestyle product photography for me, and the imagery and filters that they’ve used are right on par with the Delilah Home Persona. They also do research, write blogs, and conduct SEO for the website. 

The team also monitors the engagements on a daily basis. When there are influencers or affiliates that want to get more information about our business or want to partner with us, Passionfruit Creative immediately connects with them. It is not a 24/7 job but they’re really good at staying on top of everything.

I had been working with a smaller agency in New York for about a year and a half when Christine and Jules reached out to me. I liked their look, vibe, and the causes of the other companies that they represented, so we started having a conversation that led to one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

We started working together in September 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve not researched the figures because I’ve had to deal with other projects, but I do know that our likes and engagements are up by 3–4 times. Passionfruit Creative has done a phenomenal job.

The biggest thing they’ve helped with is moving us away from stock photos and free pictures to focus on how the actual Deliah Home Product will look in the right setting. They’ve made sure that the images on Instagram tie together with a cohesive look. 

Compared to eight months ago, there’s a big difference in our website and social media pages. Now, it’s more attractive and has an increasing number of likes and followers. My business is on fire and is projected to double this year, which is largely due to all Passionfruit Creative’s marketing efforts.

How did Passionfruit Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

There is a night-and-day difference between my old agency and Passionfruit. In a very short amount of time, they were able to gain my trust in their judgment, vision, and the content that they put out. I’ve given them full access and authority over my website and pages. They have the freedom to do and create what they feel is right for our target persona. I’ve come to a point where I’m hands-off, even though, as an entrepreneur, I have to be hands-on. 

Christine’s attention to detail is incredible. I’ve learned much from her about the industry, planning, and execution. We talk once every two weeks and email each other 6–7 times a week. We’re comfortable with each other, and I think it proves that they’re doing a good job. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

What makes them special is that they’re a boutique agency and not a large, revenue-focused agency. They’re awesome and hardworking. 

They really get my business and are attuned to the sustainable space. They don’t just work in that environment but also live in it. Their lifestyle, beliefs, philosophy, and passion translate into their work. They’re a gem that truly walks the walk and talks the talk. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

None. A larger company would probably dictate the flow because they’ve been there and done that, but because Passionfruit Creative is a boutique agency, they’re in the process of learning and growing. They are unafraid to make changes.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

First, make sure that you know what you want and, second, provide all the tools for Passionfruit Creative to be successful. Have a launch call with them and follow up with them if you have questions. Give them the reins and let them run with what they do best.
