The scope was multi-dimensional. It began with ideation workshops where we shared our goals and user expectations. NIPSAPP then proposed a layered solution using both AR and VR technologies. The key deliverables included a custom-built VR exhibition space where users could navigate using gestures or standard controllers, and an AR mobile experience that used both marker-based and markerless tech to let users explore individual design elements in their own physical environments.

On the backend, they developed a content management system for our team to upload new designs, modify metadata, and control what’s visible in the experience. They also handled localization so we could present in multiple languages depending on our audience. The platform was built primarily using Unity and integrated advanced shaders, lighting, and real-time physics simulations. They also delivered extensive testing support across devices, including Oculus and Android/iOS platforms.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The results were clear the moment we used the platform during our investor event. Users were not just watching our work they were moving through it, engaging with it, and experiencing the designs from perspectives we hadn’t even considered before. One of our investors described the experience as unexpectedly real and almost tangible.

We also noticed a marked increase in engagement. Compared to previous presentations using traditional formats, we saw more feedback, deeper questions, and a higher retention rate during the showcase sessions. Internally, the platform became a valuable tool for client demonstrations, especially during remote meetings. It made a significant difference in how our designs were received and understood.

We had regular sync calls, typically twice a week, and a shared workspace where updates, builds, and task statuses were clearly visible. There were times when we made last-minute changes or added requirements mid-sprint. They didn’t push back or treat it as a burden instead, they evaluated the new scope, adjusted timelines, and always maintained transparency. Communication was solid, and we never felt out of the loop. Even during crunch periods, they remained professional, responsive, and open to collaboration.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most to us was their ability to think beyond the code. While their technical capability is undoubtedly strong, it was their design thinking and empathy that made the biggest impression. They didn’t just execute tasks; they tried to understand the why behind each feature, how it would be used, and how to make the interaction feel natural.

Another standout trait was their creativity. In one instance, we were stuck on how to simulate a specific texture interaction in VR. Not only did they come up with a solution, but they also enhanced it with subtle visual feedback and ambient sound, making it even more immersive than we imagined. They clearly cared about the craft and the UX.

If there’s one area we’d suggest refining, it would be the technical documentation. While the product builds were consistently delivered and well-executed, the written documentation sometimes lagged behind or lacked clarity for our internal developers and designers trying to build on top of the system later.

That said, when we raised this during one of our retrospective sessions, they were receptive and actually added a dedicated technical writer to the project soon after. So while it was a short-term gap, they responded quickly and solved it proactively  which, in itself, was a sign of professionalism.

Key deliverables included the AR packaging integration, the VR application for headsets, voiceovers from local farmers, and a backend system to manage and update the content dynamically.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After launch, we saw increased engagement at retail demos and exhibitions, with customers spending noticeably more time at our booths. People interacted with the AR features in-store and shared their experiences on social media. More importantly, the VR journey sparked deeper conversations consumers asked about the origin of ingredients, farming practices, and the science behind our products. It became clear that people weren’t just seeing our brand they were feeling connected to its purpose.

The VR component was more ambitious it placed users in a 360° environment where they could experience the flow of a game, including team formations, interactions, and live commentary-like audio from past sessions. NIPSAPP also delivered a built-in onboarding feature within the VR space, acting as a virtual orientation tool for new users, along with backend tools for content updates and performance tracking.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We saw immediate signs that the immersive features were working. Users who engaged with the AR tool were more likely to book games in unfamiliar locations, and new users often mentioned the VR simulation as the reason they felt confident joining their first match. Internally, we saw fewer first-time no-shows, which had been an issue before. The immersive walkthrough helped eliminate uncertainty. From a brand engagement perspective, our social channels saw increased sharing of the AR visualizations—especially during our expansion events which boosted organic reach. It was clear that people were not only using the tools, but also talking about them.

Their project management was solid and very transparent. We had biweekly check-ins, and they stuck to their sprint plans unless something unexpected came up which they always flagged early. When we needed to change direction on some parts of the VR experience (like swapping pre-scripted AI speech for real recorded voice clips from our games), they were open, flexible, and quick to respond. They didn’t treat any feedback as friction. Instead, they welcomed it. When we flagged that our internal team was struggling a bit with managing the backend for AR content updates, they jumped on a call and set up a tutorial session that solved the issue almost overnight.
