Prior to building things in Hubpspot, we were able to collaborate in Figma and similar tools to get a solid look and feel of the site plan and usability. It was a great experience all around relative to psat website projects!

NickelBronx worked specifically to help our company create compelling retargeting ads across a number of channels. It is vital for Teal Canvas to recapture those that have already visited our site. This included the design of the ads, the placement of the ads, and the set up of our Google ad space. In addition, we have periodic update meetings to ensure effective use.
In addition, we have been consulted on social strategy to best optimize our socials as an effective sales channel.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The retargeting ads are up and running, saving us the challenge and time of educating ourselves in an unknown digital ad world. We have already seen an uptick in outreach and meeting requests, the goal in the engagement.
In addition, we are about to launch an entirely pivoted social strategy based on NickelBronx recommendations, based on best practice of achieving the greatest viewership and response. We are excited to get started in the next few weeks.

I am thoroughly impressed by their professionalism, responsiveness, and high-quality work. We had to workshop the ads quite a bit. Each time, the time did the edits and sent for our review within an appreciated timetable. 
Their professional who set up our accounts was incredibly easy to work with and made what was a foreign language to us seem straightforward. Any time I needed a question answered, I very much appreciated the time it would take to response. This was a key factor in this recommendation.

Nickelbronx started with revamping our logo. It was dated, and needed a total refresh. Logo came first - then a corporate identify package, which included email signature, biz cards, and letterform. Then, we started working in tandem on both our website redo and launching social media.

During the logo development - we were provided "rounds" of options. We provided feedback, and they sent us more options. We were thrilled with the end result!

I knew we needed a rebrand, but I wasn't expecting it to "ELEVATE" how I felt about my company's identify - and the new logo did THAT! The outcome was just so delightful and impressive.

Considering I know that I'm the bottleneck, probably not. I do think some formatting issues could have been avoided w/ the letterhead, but small potatoes compared to the end result.

Milkify is a consumer startup that had just raised its first external round of funding and was experiencing high growth in late 2022. We had also just pitched our company on ABC's "Shark Tank", so we were about to debut on a national stage in a big way.

We knew we needed a new brand identity that spoke to our core audience, as well as a new e-commerce site with custom back-end functionality that would allow our operation to scale without breaking. One of our investors recommended NickelBronx, so we approached them with the monumental ask of getting this done in a short time (before our Shark Tank episode aired in the Spring).

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

My co-founder and I had designed our old brand identity ourselves, so we were naturally very protective of it. As a service that markets to breastfeeding mothers, our new branding had to be nothing short of perfect. NickelBronx ideated and quickly delivered on a new brand identity that was above and beyond our expectations. We literally fell in love with our new brand, and so did our customers.

On the web development side, they delivered on a beautiful and functional e-commerce site, even though the original timeline was compressed halfway through the project. When ABC called us to let us know our Shark Tank episode was going to air weeks before we expected it to, NickelBronx sprung to action, triaging features and bringing in additional development resources to deliver the new site in 3 weeks instead of 12.

The new site launched in time for our episode's air date, functioned as intended through the surge in traffic, and (crucially) we never lost our SEO rankings through the transition.

Our dedicated project manager, Lindsay, kept track of the project's ever-changing scope and made sure nothing fell through the tracks. NickelBronx delivered on time and helped guide us through key development decisions that would serve us in the long run. They were prompt in their responses to our requests and concerns, and were proactive in their communication (available by Zoom, Phone, Email, and Text).

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Milkify is a unique brand, and we run a complex business. We were impressed by how quickly NickelBronx was able to get up to speed on our unique situation and needs. We were also impressed by the fact that they did the things they said they would do.

We had previously witnessed other entrepreneurs get burned by agencies who overpromised but underdelivered, costing them precious time and resources. NickelBronx was the opposite - not only was their work product super, we also had a great experience working with them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something NickelBronx could have done differently?

We changed the scope of the project several times, which added to the project's cost and timetable. NickelBronx might have guided us away from some of the complexity we added to the project. But at the end of the day, this was more of a lesson learned for our team - NB did as we asked them to, and they were clear in communicating to us how our changes would impact the project.

I’m the VP of federal sales of a software security and solutions company. We’re a value-added reseller of cyber security and data analytics products. The company is a third-generation family business.

What challenge were you trying to address with NickelBronx?

We were in the process of having the third generation of the family take over the business. We were evaluating the market and looking at our brand, website, and everything around our go-to branding. Overall, we wanted to differentiate ourselves from how we did things before and usher in a new approach to the market while continuing to have a tie with the legacy and history of the company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve had two projects with NickelBronx. First, we did our rebranding effort, which included our logo, colors, designs, and all our collateral. The second project was an entire website revamp.

Initially, we’d already thought about what we wanted the brand to look like and how we wanted to represent ourselves in the media. However, as we went through the process with the board and team, NickelBronx opened our eyes to things we hadn’t thought about, such as why we were rebranding and what story we wanted to tell. They didn’t direct us; they just gathered information and helped us figure out our style by interviewing us and giving us feedback and suggestions when we asked for it. Overall, they led us to a conclusion that made sense to us.

The challenging part of the rebranding project was that we couldn’t wrap our heads around it. We wanted to demonstrate our new brand strategy but didn’t want to abandon the company’s history. As a third-generation family-owned business, we wanted to pay homage to the past and what got us here today. We didn’t know how to marry the old with the new, so NickelBronx helped us through continued dialog and multiple iterations back and forth.

They spoke with multiple people within the organization, including stakeholders, partners, and people across the board to understand what we were trying to go for. We went through several iterations, and ultimately, they gave us several proposals.

For the website, they’ve asked us what story we’re trying to tell and what are the essential things about us that we’d want someone to remember after visiting our website. The first is our culture and history, and the second is the market we serve. We want people to look at our site and understand what we do and who we are. NickelBronx has guided us and helped us achieve that.

Our culture page shows our core values. We didn’t want it to be just bullet points on the site; we wanted it to look and feel different. Therefore, we went to our internal employees to hear what they thought we stood for and our identity. We put out a survey to each person and took that feedback to make a collage that represented everybody in the organization. It’s a unique thing, and we use it in a lot of our branding.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with 4–5 people, including the owner, designers, and copywriters.

How did you come to work with NickelBronx?

We had a personal relationship with them. I’ve known them for many years and used them in previous companies. I’d referred them to dozens of colleagues, partners, and friends, so I was well aware of the quality and consistency of their work.

How much have you invested with them?

The rebrand was around $10,000, and the website was between $30,000–$50,000. Overall, we’ve spent between $75,000–$100,000 for everything we’ve done with NickelBronx.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them for many years. We started with smaller projects, and this specific effort began in August 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Before the rebrand and website, we never received inbound leads from our site. Now, we receive at least a handful of them a week. Also, we couldn’t pay or request quotes on the site, so that’s a new function that has provided a lot of value to our business.

On the other hand, the branding process was interesting, fun, and seamless. We’ve gotten an incredible response from our partners and industry, and we’re very happy with how everything turned out.

How did NickelBronx perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been fully transparent along the way. We’ve never waited on them; on the contrary, it’s the opposite way. Once they provide what they’ve signed up for, we do our side of the homework and send it back to NickelBronx. Moreover, they’re communicative, and the team meets all deadlines, timelines, and budgets.

We use GitHub and communicate via phone calls, video conferences, and in-person meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They think outside the box — the design isn’t the cookie-cutter kind. What’s remarkable about their approach is that they’ve created a custom design that represents us well. They listened to us; we didn’t want a stuffy, corporate look, and they’ve made us shine.

Additionally, working with them is fun and easy. They’re highly communicative.

I can’t think of anything.

I’ve never met anybody who has worked with them and come back with a bad experience, but the more you put into it, the more you get out of them. When they’re interviewing you, really give it a thought. If you can provide them with what you’re looking for and what’s important to you, they’ll have more to work with, and the results will be better.
