After the approval of all mockups of individual screens, presented by a UX/UI designer, they started the application development. What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to build an MVP and test it with our current clients. After completion of this stage we needed a partner for future development and maintenance.

How did you select this vendor?
We had worked with them before and we were impressed. We did interview a couple of other providers, but we already knew what Applover was capable of. They won the bid over more affordable offers, because we had a chance to test them to ensure that they were the right fit.

Our system allows you to order tests quickly and easily, receive the results and get their interpretation. The application saves your results in one safe place.
The application allows you to perform the necessary tests in a medical facility located near your location. The clear interface of the test catalog allows you to find for a test by name, type or location. In the catalog, you can quickly compare the cost of testing at various facilities.
Applover was building the app from scratch and right now is adding new features.
What was the team composition?
We started with 4 mobile developers (2 on IOS and 2 on Android), Project Manager and a QA Specialist. We were working directly with the team and the Project Manager.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The team’s design work aligns with our vision. The app looks and functions exactly how we want it to, and we’re really happy with that. The code was clean and bug-free, with the potential to scale it up in the future.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Their Project Manager was really communicative, available for us almost 24/7. Their dev team is very knowledgeable. We used Jira and Confluence to track our development tasks and Slack for communication. For daily meetings and sprint-planning sessions, we used mainly Google Hangouts.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They delivered a high-quality product on time and made for a swift and professional collaboration. We had a great experience and vibe with Applover; they went above and beyond to deliver what we needed.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Maybe more consistency on the project management and scheduling, but our current project manager from Applover has been great.

For what projects/services did your company hire Applover Software House?
I needed someone to build the app that my business is based on from scratch.
What were your goals for this project?
I wanted to create a user-friendly booking system for personal training clients. It needed to be visually appealing and intuitive.

I researched several app developers in various countries, but none of them had the right combination of quality, communication skills, and pricing. Eventually, a colleague referred me to Applover. Following an initial call and visit to their offices, I decided they were the right developers.

I already had a concept and general structure in mind. They worked on everything, from creating screen mockups and user journeys to developing a fully functional MVP. The final iOS and Android apps feature architecture they developed, as well as payment integrations they introduced. They also designed and coded my website. I’ve since retained them for ongoing development work.
What was the team composition?
I worked with a project manager, a frontend developer, a backend developer, and several graphic designers, web developers, and app developers. The front- and backend developers each changed once after the majority of the work was done. Overall, it was a well-managed team with clear lines of communication.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The app is doing what it was designed to do. It's user-friendly and intuitive, and clients are very happy with it. I have yet to get a negative response from a user, excluding those surrounding minor bugs. We were also nominated for Best Fitness App 2018 by Men’s and Women’s Health Magazine. Although we didn’t win, Applover definitely delivered.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Despite the long distance, it was very smooth. We communicated daily via Slack and arranged Skype calls when necessary. They were very responsive (even on weekends). We utilized Trello to manage the development workflow, which was very helpful, and there was no language barrier whatsoever.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their youth and enthusiasm were outstanding, but communication was the true highlight. I’ve heard horror stories surrounding communicating with developers, but this wasn’t the case at all.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They could be more proactive in suggesting their own thoughts/ideas. Although I was clear about what I wanted, I was always open to new ideas regarding any aspect of the apps. This isn’t to say they didn’t do any creative problem-solving when we faced issues, because they certainly did.

I'm the CEO and co-founder of Node Capital, a data science company that brings analytics to the cryptocurrency market.

What challenge were you trying to address with Applover?
We needed some programs and algorithms coded into a web-based platform.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
The solution is proprietary but focuses on automatic trading and data analysis. Using Ruby on Rails, they created a platform that allows us to use inefficiencies in the cryptocurrency marketplace to produce a profit.
What is the team composition?
We have one main project manager who we go to if there’s ever any problems or concerns. They delegate the work to a lead developer and the rest of the team.
How did you come to work with Applover?
One of my co-founders found them online. We sent them an RFP and they came back with a proposal. We decided to work with them based on their past work, and how well it matched our current needs.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $15,000 to date, but it will end up being closer to $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in February 2018 and we're expanding the scope of work to a new stage.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The solution is very reliable. We work together to implement different features. In terms of functionalities, we can pick out a certain price and they’re able to identify metrics. We initially hired them to do the minimum viable product (MVP). They've done such a good job that we’re going to use them to create the full product.
How did Applover perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re always available for calls even though they’re in Poland and we're five hours behind. They work very late and get up very early. We use GitLab and Slack to communicate, and they do a good job of being responsive.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're very knowledgeable within the space so it’s easy to convey our ideas to them. They catch on quickly, and even provide some improvements to our thinking. With other developers, we tried to give them multiple tasks at once and it diluted the process. Applover likes to get one task done and then move on to the next. They fully complete something, test it, and then move on. They’re an asset in every way.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they’ve exceeded our expectations.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
As with any project, have a very detailed description of what you want done. Give it to them in increments so you don't flood them with information. Let them know what the priorities are.
