### 3PL - Warehouse Management System Update
This logistics company wanted to build a team that would be responsible for the modernization of their Warehouse Management System. The system was based on legacy technology and needed to be upgraded to support the organization's growth. The software in place treated every warehouse like a separate entity, even though all data was centralized on a local server. 
To prepare for future growth, our client had to embrace the cloud and upgrade the WMS. The greater part of their WMS was developed in an older version of .NET, so it had to be modernized. 
The company started to look for a partner who would not only bring in developers but also analyze the architecture to rebuild the whole system and act as a partner.
Successful Approach
Shortage in local talent experienced with niche technologies compelled us to utilize the Global Delivery Model. We quickly onboarded a couple of developers in the US and proved that we could deliver on the requirements. When the Client communicated their software testing needs, we encouraged them to assemble a nearshore team in Poland to ensure high quality while staying within the budget.
Moreover, the new team had to proactively seek out things that might be improved. Everyone had to take a foresighted approach and suggest improvements. Once we got the software development team up and running, the client decided to expand further into architecture, security, and more.
Results
We set up the foundation and laid down the groundwork for the architecture, testing, development, and everything in between. Thanks to the team's hard work, we got the opportunity to work on iOS development and upgrade the WMS. Today, we are responsible for the whole Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
The team managed to put processes and procedures in place, identified issues successfully, and made sure the same problems wouldn’t come up again in the future. 


### Build-Operate-Transfer Poland

Problem Statement: The client kicked off a strategy in 2022 which included the creation of a Center of Excellence in Poland. The critical success outcome was the creation of a new business operation at the heart of Poland which would support a number of divisions within the client’s global organization. The client put an emphasis on the recruitment of local first talent which can go into the office to build a sense of community and collaboration. One of the major challenges was the recruitment of senior talent who would possess niche banking expertise.
Maxima Solution/Responsibilities: To deliver on this project, our Client Service and Business Development teams became Polish labor law experts. They put in the work to understand the market, people, and work culture to help our clients navigate the hiring market. Along with the program, we were advising the client on their future transformation strategy. Throughout the project, we mapped our client’s environment and processes which facilitated the onboarding of new members.

Results: One project turned into a global partnership, where we support many business areas within the organization. All L1s got onboarded after the try period, 40% of L2s and 30% of L3s. A simple, competitive rate card facilitated the administration of the project and our Client Partner acted as a bridge for the client to report on progress. The project started with 20 people, today, this number is close to 100. We introduced consultants with in-depth domain experience and pre-prepared them to ensure they hit the ground running.

Problem Statement
Our client needed 24/7/365 M&S for their critical databases. Maxima was selected as the sole support provider after a previous big name vendor was unable to meet our client expectations.
Solution

### Transaction Lifecycle Application Development
Developing a Hub that would be used for managing over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives but with minimal intermediation or regulation.
Problem Statement:
The middle and back-office needed a modern software solution for transaction lifecycle management, accounting, record-keeping, pricing, cash settlements and margin movements of OTC Derivatives. This client has worked with Maxima before and asked us for help on this project.‍
Solution:
‍We decided to develop a Hub that would be used for managing over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives but with minimal intermediation or regulation. It was a particularly complex project requiring the best programmers, that’s why we decided to engage our most experienced developers in the financial sector.
During the project:
Derivatives can be used to either mitigate risk or assume risk with the expectation of commensurate reward. To provide top-notch functioning of the project, we decided to base the design and development on Java components including J2EE. Most of the development was based on Oracle SQL/PLSQL. The queueing technology that we used was MQ and Kafka.
Results:
Our team managed to develop a system that is critical for our client. It was one of the most ambitious projects that we participated in, the whole development took over 13 years and it is still under construction. The developers are monitoring it and ensuring that everything works perfectly.


### IAMS - Security Administration
Problem Statement:
The client asked us to stand up a new security support team as part of their global hub strategy. It was a challenge due to few candidates meeting our requirements. We were looking to build a new team with experienced business analysts, security administrators and multilingual support specialists for both internal and external communications.
Solution:
We worked closely as client partners to carefully stand up their new teams for this project. This consisted of multiple stakeholders in multiple countries working together. We successfully delivered a new team in Poland meeting all of their requirements and even invested in the team training by sending key members to the UK for onsite KT. In the end this proved to be a successful project for both Maxima and our client.
Results:
‍This project was a great success for us and our client. In record time we created a team of 30+ multilingual consultants (German, Italian, French, English). This project was done on a contract-to-hire model and eventually, the team had a successful handover to our client as full-time employees. After 2 years since the client handoff, over 90% of the original team members are still part of the team, providing great retention and building career opportunities.


### Belgium to the Netherlands: Workflow and Operation
The Client
The largest bank in the Netherlands with its primary business focus on retail banking, direct banking, commercial banking, investment banking, wholesale banking, private banking, asset management, and insurance services.
 
Problem Statement
Our client was doing a major transformation of consolidations and integration from their Belgian division into the Netherlands headquarters. The project focus was on identifying operational and workflow inefficiencies to streamline the integration and better utilize the bank's resources. 
 
Solution
Together with the client we provided expertise and consulting services utilizing the Six Sigma Black Belt methodology in reviewing and identifying operations and workflow inefficiencies. Maxima also provided comprehensive solutions around optimizations utilizing best-in-class tools helping our client in their journey of integrating their Belgian operations into their Dutch HQ.


### Global Accounting System
Maxima managed to find and recruit experienced developers and QA engineers who created a single trusted source of data for the downstream system for an international financial institution, as well as support specialists who maintain it.
 
Problem Statement
‍Our client needed experienced consultants on board that had previous experience with critical project 1 trial modules and critical project 2 data structures.
 
Solution
‍We worked in partnership with business users and business analysts to understand and felicitate requirements. We defined the infrastructure set up for MQ and web servers and databases. Our consultants decided to design the solution and initial architecture, based on future operability, this would allow creating a system that will operate for years.
 
During the project
The work started with designing key interfaces for connecting to dependent upstream and downstream systems. Thanks to excellent cooperation we captured key data points used for calculations that will be sent to NASDAQ. Maxima developers coded the alert and validation modules for downstream consumption and delivery. The quality assurance team performed unit testing, system and regression testing, they prepared detailed test cases for each interface to ensure the highest level of quality. Dedicated teams worked on UAT and PROD and supported the client during each release.
 
Results
‍We successfully completed the project and created a single trusted source that will supply data for the downstream system. The data will be used to perform impact calculations on the per-share and basis point and percentage levels. Later the data gets published to NASDAQ through a downstream module.
 


### Global Banking Platform Modernization
Maxima selected a team of Temenos software experts to ensure a successful data migration and implementation from a client’s legacy system to the Finastra Global PayPlus (GPP) payment system.
Problem Statement
‍Our client wanted to replace and consolidate the various cash and payments platforms on a global basis, with an emphasis on consistent processes and procedures. The legacy systems were going to be replaced with the Finastra Global PayPlus (GPP) payment system integrated with the Temenos banking system.
 
Solution
‍Together with the client we decided to use Global PayPlus. It was supposed to receive payments from upstream initiation systems, as well as the external network. T24 was used to record the debit/credit postings to the respective cash accounts and support associated payment control functions.
 
During the project
‍We set up a team of consultants with previous experience in T24 data migration and implementation. The team had a few knowledge-sharing sessions on T24 products to assure that everyone is up to date with the system.  Maxima consultants have analyzed and designed the product configuration, they have defined the customization needs to fulfill all the business requirements. To establish end-to-end connectivity we have worked with multiple teams, we assisted them with software deployments and configuration activities across multiple environments. Thanks to the good cooperation we could identify, define and coordinate any development activities during all the different releases.
 
Results
‍Good understanding of the banking industry and regulatory requirements helped with the project development. The system provides greater transparency into the lifecycle of a payment transaction in the banking system, and bank users can use new business solutions to their advantage. At the end of the project, we provided technical training for the support staff, ensured operational readiness, and participated in activities around any migration tasks.


### Legacy Migration to Oracle Exadata and Netezza
Problem Statement
‍The company’s legacy systems were out of date and lowered performance and increased operational costs. It was an issue that had to be addressed with the right approach to make sure that none of the data will be lost. Due to the legacy system in use, the client was in an inferior position to the competitors, if the system wouldn’t be updated then the client could lose both customers and money.
Solution
‍Maxima offered to migrate the systems to Oracle Exadata and Netezza utilizing our onshore/offshore delivery model. Such a migration allowed to speed up the backups, improve the performance, facilitate the management and flexibility of the system. Also, there were numerous other benefits of such an approach. We did bring the security to a higher level by using modern solutions, significantly increased the computing speed and prepared the system for a cloud migration.
During the project
We started our work with process preparation, to ensure the highest possible level of security. Our team has installed Goldengate for unidirectional and bidirectional replications and maintaining data synchronization. To ensure the high availability of Goldengate we performed constant updates, patches and migrations. As with every project, there were also problems, we had to address performance issues and troubleshoot OGG-Errors. The project was monitored with the help of Oracle Enterprise Manager and Shell scripts. Our team created scripts to identify all occurring errors.

Overview
One of our clients, a global financial institution, asked our company for support in transitioning from the legacy system MIG 21 to a new system CRIMS for their investment compliance operations. An established insurance company intended to modernize its application workloads as part of its journey to the cloud. The organization was dependent on monolithic applications written in .Net, Java, etc. Critical applications were incompatible with public clouds. They lacked deep expertise in cloud technologies, including containers and Kubernetes and appropriate DevOps and GitOps skills and experience
